Who plans to undergo Euthanasia when the inevitable days come?

Why would you want to live forever as an old person?
Well technically, I wouldn't have to be an old person forever. Again, I assume science one day will have technology to make people younger or healthier.

But even then, a biologically immortal 60 or 70 year old could still travel the world. Or hell, even travel into outer space.

There's a ton of things humans can do in this universe but by current limitations, we can't fulfill them all before we die. Having an infinite lifespan ensures those dreams become possible.

Still seems silly to me. If anything we'd be better off becoming androids.

Keep in mind, I'm operating under the assumption of what technology we might actually see within the next 50 years.

Even if the only possible option is a drug that extends your life by 10 years, I'm not going to turn it down in favor of death (which is permanent).

If android tech is possible, that's even better.

It will never happen considering how much the pharmaceutical companies own our government and the "medical community" that doesn't let us experiment because "muh ethics".

Old people can be pretty chill.
No-one expects too much from them and everyone understands if they take their time to do things.
You suffer as an old person just by living. That is what I meant by that. Just because you get "immortality" doesn't mean you won't be in pain or have fears of like falling down.

OD on heroin

This.

I when get to the point where death isn't far away this is probably the way I'll go in my bed, nice and warm with my wife next to me. I always thought that a heart attack or stroke that instantly kills you is probably a more humane natural way to go, a split second of pain and pufff you're gone before you even hit the floor.

I've watched loved ones slowly die of cancer and it is horrible slowly being robbed of life where even breathing becomes difficult with your loved ones standing around watching unable to help or do anything except comforting you.

I still think we are years away from an effective treatment for cancer and even then it won't be a "cure" like many hope it'll be way to manage the condition over a longer period of time.

I want to live as long as possible because what if when you die, the next day they announce immortality is discovered?

We literally have only one chance at life. Ending it early means you can't undo your mistake, for all eternity.

Another thought is what if killing yourself sends you straight to hell? I'm not religious but even if there is a afterlife, why make your chances at living forever worse?

Imagine being targetted by a serial killer that doesnt like Immortals and then he puts everyone in boxes to dump them on the ocean floor

Thats the moment you regret taking that immortality pill

No. I'm eating right and exercising so that I can extend my life long enough to have nano machines implanted and achieve immortality.

I'm 33 and I really would do this myself, but my body is in peak physical condition yet my mind died years ago.

Don't think that's enough to qualify.
