I fucking love callbacks like this.

Yeah sure, they hardly make money off the HW.True. It's super easy to release those games on PC. It's like free money basically.
And console gamers != PC gamers for the most of the time.
There is only a fraction of those. And again, sold hardware doesn't really matter that much anymore. It's the sold software and services how sony makes money.
VFXVeteran was mostly bashed for his mustard-race statements like 'HZD on the PC could look better than HZD2 on the PS5'.Our Sony warriors seem to owe vfx an apology after all the bashing.
Notice they said they will be open minded to experimenting in the future. Killzone next to pc????![]()
I doubt it. Hulst even says they are still dedicated to hardware, he knows they have to have reasons to buy a PlayStationWhen Sony is going to taste the sweet money from sales on PC, it's probably going to be different. If they would want to really entice them to play on PS, they would probably release TLoU. But it was probably harder to do that, since Decima is already ported to PC, thanks to Death Stranding.
Fantastic how Hermem Hulst (or the responsable of this) is taking what makes Playstation so unique and throwing it to the air.

Good for PC guys. Horizon 2 will probably be only on PS5 for years so instead of waiting this time, those PC guys might get a PS5
It would have been really stupid to deflate hype of PS5 to say "From now on, PS5 games going to be also on PC". Will see, but at this point it would be just bad PR.I doubt it. Hulst even says they are still dedicated to hardware, he knows they have to have reasons to buy a PlayStation
Probably by the time people remember XSX is a thing after todays news.I wonder when it will come to Game Pass for PC.
People are hoping but I don't see this happeningIf Horizon is coming, that Last of Us 2 rumor might be true too.

Don't you like the consoles world or how Sony manage the PlayStation hardware or services?I wish Sony just confirmed all games coming to PC would make it easier for me I'd just go PC and Nintendo. And cross play for all games would be the icing on the cake.
Currently I'm PS4 and Switch, I only pay for PSN Plus but I still don't like paying for online as I don't play it enough for it to be worth it.
The only thing keeping me away from going PC is lack of cross online play and PS4 exclusives. The cross online play seems to be getting better, if Sony just confirmed all games coming to PC (even if they are timed exclusives) I'd be interested going PC.
Unfortunately Horizon port isn't enough I don't want to take a risk going PC just over a few exclusive games going PC.
Ooooh extra salty
I've never had an issue with games going to PC, I'm just looking at this from Sony's perspective and what Hermen saidYeah, or they'll just move on with their lives, while playing any other PS exclusives Sony decides to drop on PC.
It's all good, man.
Personally I feel he was talking about broadening people's exposure to PlayStation the brand, not PlayStation the hardware.I've never had an issue with games going to PC, I'm just looking at this from Sony's perspective and what Hermen said
Yeah of course but just think in those terms: you think that horizon 2 after 3 years of development is gonna be good like horizon 2 after 5-6 years in development??Edit - I think I misread you comment somehow... well HDZ2 is probably already in development for some time.
I don't know most of time with Horizon was the Decima engine, no? I'm just guessing... there is not way to know.Yeah of course but just think in those terms: you think that horizon 2 after 3 years of development is gonna be good like horizon 2 after 5-6 years in development??
If there is an absolute fact in gaming development is that money and time are always good things for devs, i just don't want another killzone4\infamous3 case, give devs all the time in the world for their giant and ambitious games.
I mean, sometimes even with a lot of time the game can come out shitty, but thats mostly the case with people like bethesda or modern square or modern bioware and some others, if sony gives 5-6 years to guerrilla i'm pretty sure that they are well utilized and not squandered.
Lol not at all.
I'll let you enjoy the news. You're in for another rough gen, so savor this moment.
If this was the case he probably wouldn't have mentioned that not every game will go to PCPersonally I feel he was talking about broadening people's exposure to PlayStation the brand, not PlayStation the hardware.
I don't seriously expect they think they'll increase future hardware sales by doing this.
And if they do, they're nuts.
It's pretty much been confirmed (check the NoClip documentary for example). HZD took 5+ years to make, but much of it was spent on the engine/concepting with a skeleton crew (and the tools, you can't ignore the tools).I don't know most of time with Horizon was the Decima engine, no? I'm just guessing... there is not way to know.
Look, gta5 and rdr2 are on the rage engine or something similar from the old ping pong rockstar game, so they already have the engine ready, they still utilize 5-8 years for a single game to make them bigger and more ambitious.I don't know most of time with Horizon was the Decima engine, no? Ok for spider man. But im interesting in Gravity rush.Play Batman, imagine yourself Bruce wears a Spidey costume and there you go![]()
Yeap. I thought that Kojima with all trouble to open a new study, hire people, manage, etc ended delivering Death Stranding really fast. It's pretty much been confirmed (check the NoClip documentary for example). But at its current state Decima/the associated toolset seems quite mature. Case in point, Death Stranding - a quite short development time in AAA terms.
What's your role in it?But im interesting in Gravity rush
I don't think Rockstar really take that much time to develop their games.Look, gta5 and rdr2 are on the rage engine or something similar from the old ping pong rockstar game, so they already have the engine ready, they still utilize 5-8 years for a single game to make them bigger and more ambitious.
Even if guerrilla has already the engine, you can utilize the time and money for a shitload of other things to make the game better.
More dinobot, more optimization, more weapon, more story, more sidequest, more and better everything basically, no dev is ever gonna tell you that less time and money are better, like not even the crazy ones
An ambitious gigantic game like horizon 2 in 3 years is not exactly optimal from my point of view.
Like i said, they already ruined infamous and probably killzone with 2 rushed for launch titles.
Maybe because i'm a huge horizon fan, but i absolutely don't want something similar for horizon 2, i'm ready to wait YEARS to play the absolute best version of that game.
Very refreshing to hear that.Maybe because i'm a huge horizon fan, but i absolutely don't want something similar for horizon 2, i'm ready to wait YEARS to play the absolute best version of that game.
Man I never thought about that. I have some weird feeling that the Gravity Rush games would do so well on PC. Man I miss logging in to 2 and doing treasure hunts.Sony you have to Bring GRAVITY RUSH 1 AND 2 IN PC!!!
I WOULD BUY IT AGAIN... AND GIFT TO PEOPLE VIA STEAM.
JUST DO ITTTTTT![]()
I can assure you that every guy with 2 neurons in their brain don't want a fucking rushed games from their favourite saga, i'm just more vocal compared to othersVery refreshing to hear that.
Most fanboys are constantly whining and asking why there isn't a new game announced in their favorite franchise every six months.
In no small part due toYeap. I thought that Kojima with all trouble to open a new study, hire people, manage, etc ended delivering Death Stranding really fast.
See above - I, too, want HZD 2 to shake up things a bit, as much as I enjoyed the original. And to be the absolutely best version Guerrilla can deliver. But something like demonstrated in that video, it takes a long time to get right. However, once it's there, it can really speed up the development process, with no hit to quality.Maybe because i'm a huge horizon fan, but i absolutely don't want something similar for horizon 2, i'm ready to wait YEARS to play the absolute best version of that game.
Rdr2 was in development for 8-9 years with far more than 1000 people working on it.I don't think Rockstar really take that much time to develop their games.
Or maybe they put small team for most of time of development.
It just like they are fine with that release schedule with the massive sales.
It is a case of study btw because Rockstat with one game can sell the same as several yearly CoD.
Two big success with different release schedules.
In no small part due to
(as a TL;DW - pretty much all of the vegetation, animals and even ambient noises are procedurally generated, the tech is quite amazing)

No role. Its just passion. Im a huge fan of the saga. Support it for many sequels I want and more people know the sagaWhat's your role in it?
Ehh, up to a point. But what you'd have rather (really, I suggest you watch the video) - that designers meticulously place every single tree, bush and piece of grass in place. Or that the tech allows designers to just basically paint an area with a "tree brush" (or a "bush brush", or a "path brush", or what have you) and the procedural generation does the rest. I think it's a worthy tradeoff. Especially considering HZD already does this. There is always a dip in quality if you don't have enough time to make every single elements perfect.
It's basic logic from my point of view, more time in the oven = berter game.
Me too.Man I never thought about that. I have some weird feeling that the Gravity Rush games would do so well on PC. Man I miss logging in to 2 and doing treasure hunts.
...you completely missed the joke. You said you are "interesting in Gravity Rush", which would imply you are in the game. (what you want to use is "interested in")No role. Its just passion. Im a huge fan of the saga. Support it for many sequels I want and more people know the saga
