Horizon: Zero Dawn confirmed for PC

Sounds good.

After you play Horizon on PC in the summer. The second you get that itch to dump your rig, PM me the details. I'll buy it off you. I'll even offer you 5% more than the average price on eBay....... but you have to cover shipping to my place. lol

Don't wait too long or else eBay prices will drop even more when more people dump their PC when Sony's next "experimental PC release" comes later.
You know what? Your a good fellow. As matter a fact, I'll not only give you my pc for free, but I'll pay you on top of it. You just gotta cover shipping. I'm going to line my walls with Sony posters after I play horizon. I'm just itching to buy a ps5 right now. Do you know who takes pre orders for it in the states?!

Ever just chill in bed and play on the switch or a console on the bedroom bigscreen? It's not a bad life.
Interestingly enough, and I'm sure I'll get shit for it, but I play my pc from my bed. I literally just sit back and play a bit of For Honor, MHW, and other games with my elite 2 controller. Same with my switch. That's why I don't feel like consoles have any more ease of access than pc.

I was going to say Sony is taking pre-orders. But given how little info is announced, it might not even come out.

But Horizon on PC is.

I can't wait to see gamer reactions when Hermen announces which game is next as part of their "experimental PC games".

I said it before in some thread, I still stick to Uncharted Lost Legacy as the next game. Just like Horizon it's coming off PS Now next month. So give gamers a taste (assuming they have PS Now), take it down, but repackage it as a standalone sale. Dreams should be there too. It's selling poorly and content creation community is better on PC. This game should have been launched on PC game right off the bat with PS4 and allow crossplay.

Horizon sold great, but it's just a one game franchise so far. MLB is another game going multiplat.

I don't see Sony doing PC releases of GT, God of War, LoU or Uncharted (Drake games) yet. Those franchises are too engrained.

But things like Horizon, Uncharted LL, Infamous, R&C, Dreams and those kinds of franchises are better to test first than gunning for God of War.

I wish i could not only give you my pc, but give you every emoticon too. You sir, have a big brain. Almost too much brain to be on NeoGAF. The writings are on the wall, and it's only a matter of time before we get every exclusive, and then some. In this day and age, Sony realizes they have a broader audience to sell games to. And in the best light to see what next gen hardware can achieve.

Sorry brother.. You just made it completely obvious that you never get laid.

Sorry brother.. You just made it completely obvious that you never get laid.
And you just made it obvious that you don't even get poon in video games, more or less real life. I don't get why you are hating so hard on an internet forum.... Lack of size? Lack of ever getting any? Who knows, but the world will continue to go 'round

I'll finally be able to play some of these games. I bought a PS4 Pro without realizing how bad my arthritis has become in my left hand and i can't tilt the left thumb stick past the mid point. I thought about buying an async controller but third party controllers are usually garbage.

But they never said a definite "NO" or even anything close. So it seems we might just have a delayed release window. But a win win for pc players and Sony, as well as fans of the game. I'm excited for this gen!

In the next post, you say you don't like these games. Why are you excited by making wishful thinking that everything will come to pc?

My thoughts exactly. Sony doesn't have system sellers IMO, otherwise I would own a ps4. I just don't see myself spending at least $500 to $600 bucks for a single game, that's also single player.... I'll wait a few months and play the entirety of Sony catalog over time. No rush.

This is hilarious. Sorry but for the first time I used the laughing emoticon.

UC4, Spider-man and Days Gone made me go from being a Xbox guy to going with PS5 1st next generation and considering not getting the next Xbox
Yeah I get the logic. That won't happen

I think entice implies PC gamers that don't have a console and don't care about owning one. If they already didn't care about buying a PS4 for exclusives before it's doubtful they would now
It definitely could happen. Sony makes some of the greatest exclusives out there. Some people have never tried them

After reading his tweet, I'm packing my bags up, and selling all my pc gear. No more high resolution, high refresh rates, cheap game sales, even my high end audio setup has to go, because this raytracing audio is going to be hot fiiiire! I don't mind prioritizing all the wrong things, such as resolution over framerate! Who needs that anyways, no one can see past 30fps! My console will beat pc gaming for the next 7 years!
Good move.

I did it, I never looked back.
''Like'' for the last sentence. You will now have access to all the best games of each year(including awards for technical achievement). Congrats. :)
Happy for you.

PC users aren't leaving the ecosystems available there they have invested in for a $500 Sony first party dongle. Just like Playstation gamers aren't going to go over to Xbox because of the same reason (as we've been reminded time and time again.

Funny how that works.

Lmao IKR. Him saying PlayStation doesn't have system sellers is like saying the grocery store doesn't have milk

You don't have to leave an ecosystem to pick up a console

Well... Has Sony sold a system to me? No. I'll play the games on pc, but they aren't must haves, otherwise I would currently have a ps4, right? Make sense?

Yes, if you say that they are actually and objectively system sellers and masterpieces but you will like them only if they come to pc. That's what I understand.

either way, you will be surprised if you buy a PS5. I suggest you to try it. And if you don't like it, its ok. :)

Resolution is not a problem anymore and frame rates tend to be higher. We are in a state of diminishing returns right now. Imo we don't need more reso now. But I would like to see the average frame rate to be higher next gen. It will.

Yeah I totally agree and if Sony allow crossbuy+save that will be something to entice the purchase of the hardware. Microsoft have the right approach - buy the game once (or rent it via Game Pass) and play it on multiple platforms. Playstation users should be celebrating this move - you can now (possibly) play HZD in comfy couch mode at home and pick it up later on on a laptop on the go or gaming rig for extra bling. These titles now get to live forever too as they will be preserved on the ultimate backward compatible platform - Windows.

Embrace and enjoy it.

I don't think most people even care about playing console games on the go tbh

What's wrong with having a PC and a console? I thought everyone did.. Wow I'm naive I guess.
There's nothing wrong with it lol, I just don't see Sony releasing HZD on PC to entice PC users to move to playstation consoles, they just wana sell more copies of HZD, and it'll sell. Good news all around.

So not a single PC gamer in the world, who never owned a Playstation before, can be persuaded to buy a PS5 at some point?
Sure, but it will be a tiny percentage, much, MUCH less than PC users who will stay on the platform and buy sony titles on steam.

You don't think it might have anything to do with Horizon Zero Dawn 2 and to get more people interested in it?

There are lots of people who already say they're fine with a PC/PS5 combo, so what makes you think other PC-only gamers won't feel the same if interested enough after playing some former PS exclusives?

There are already a lot of PC gamers happy with the news, so interest is definitely there.

I mean that'd be a nice bonus for the small number it entices into buying a PS5, but I think they're more interesting in selling a few more million copies of HZD on steam, then probably doing the same with HZD2 a while after it releases on PS5 first.

Unless the goal is to make part of the PC gamers interested in the HZD 2 and then making it PS5 exclusive for years.
There already is a growing mindshare that a PC/PS5 is good combo now that Xbox as a console is basically becoming obsolete. So giving people a taste of what's on offer, is smart.

That's how drug-dealers get new clients as well.

Sony is going to get some PC guys to play on PS5
That Sony exec's PR is BS.

PC gamers playing a 3 year old old SP focused game is not going to make people jump ship. Just as putting PS Now on PC so they can stream even older ,at 720p/30fps isn't either.

It's purely a side revenue play. And get ready for more.

That's like saying a third party dev releasing multiplat games should have console gamers skewing to PC over time because the PC version will be better. Everyone knows a decent PC will have better graphics and options, but I don't see PS and Xbox gamers flocking to PC..... especially when last gen most console games were shitty at 720/30.

If you drive a BMW, and Honda offers you free test drives of a 3 year old Civic, I'm pretty sure the Beemer guy isn't going going to drop his BMW and go Civic.
I agree with that first sentence, Sony executive telling the fan base not to worry is bs. They are trying to save face. Only a dummy who has a PC and knows the games will eventually come to the pc by a ps4.

A few sales plus the negative feedback it sends to your base, does not equal the same benefit has someone investing into your ecosystem.

Makes the pc platform more viable if I can get almost all exclusives from each console maker on it.

I think most people who go PC/PS5 would've done so regardless of this anouncement, in fact this has swayed me to maybe not buy a playstation console this time around as it's possible for first party Sony games to be ported to PC over time. I'm more than happy to wait so I can play on my prefered platform.

Why would I buy something I wouldn't like? I don't get that mentality....?
Yes, because you make up the entire PC mindset.
You are capable of reading... right? I obviously said it from my perspective, and my opinion, cause I can only speak for myself. Idk what the rest of the pc market is doing, but I know many are saying they won't buy a ps5 this generation either.
Your opinion is yours but most people know Sony has system sellers
And that is fine for them. Sony just never convinced me to purchase a console this gen. Neither did Microsoft. Different strokes for different folks

Enjoy the 3 year wait for SP PS5 exclusives and with Sony saying they are still dedicated to their hardware don't count on every PS5 game going to PC

They convinced 109 million people to get PS4's I'm sure they'll cry over your $400 ;)

You are PC gamers are by far the cheapest and most patient. Waiting a few years is no big deal to them. Sony sent the message wait a few years and it will come to gabe land. It was stupid to chase this market at the expense of console sales. Give up 100% of revenue at 59.99 for 70% at 19.99 or less. It is being short sighted a little money now for huge issues down the road. The only winner is gabe as usual in the PC market.

Yes, you actually bring up a good point:
Cheap and patient.

Most PC gamers don't even own a PC capable of running next-gen games.
A PS5 would be a great and cheap alternative to a very expensive gaming PC.

That's awesome for Sony, but I doesn't really care how much they sold. I rather play their games on more than capable hardware, so definitely not on a ps4/5. Especially as more games will be ported over to pc by Sony themselves.

The most popular video card for pc on steam, is a good bit better than the Xbox series x and ps4 pro... Why couldn't these pc's run games for the next gen cycle? Or are you just spreading FUD without a clue?

But you were very happy and excited in the previous posts.

Either way, it's more reasonable to try them and then decide. Sony exclusives are not by luck Goty winners or candidates every year. HZD was a candidate for example.
That's what I am saying. I am not forcing you or something. It's a friendly encouragement :)

PC gamers have patience, I read it on this and pc forums.

And I don't have to wait for Jack, Playstation is my gaming platform of choice but I'm just keeping it real, pc gamers aren't going to be milked like sheep, Microsoft tried it and they demanded games be released at the same time frame and here we are.

I think Sony's decision release 1st party titles on the pc have a deeper reasoning.

Yeah, I'm happy they are finally doing gamers a favor, by selling their exclusives on other platforms. It doesn't mean I'm going to go buy every single one of their games.

Your words, not mine. Most pc gamers have better hardware than consoles. With new consoles coming out, pc gamers will be upgrading as usual. So better than next gen consoles as well. Why wouldn't this be any different this time around as well?

Why couldn't these pc's run games for the next gen cycle?

Even the RDR2 had problems, because it just merely maxed out current-gen. Imagine next-gen multiplatform games(not cross-gen)
My opinion is that you will need a huge upgrade. But as I say we will see.

I don't believe you tbh.

It's common knowledge that the majority of PC gamers don't own a PC with the kind of hardware you are talking about.

Just check out steam hardware survey for February of this year.

RDR2 runs awesome on my PC. 100fps, maxed out. In 3440x1440. If pc's are monsters, compared to consoles, why wouldn't the performance gap increase even more for next gen as well?

Kinda proving my point.

You act like the entire PC gaming community will upgrade to the most high-end hardware.

I'm done with this discussion. PC elitists are on a whole other level compared to console fanboys.
