Horizon: Zero Dawn confirmed for PC

then phones got powerful enough with specs and storage to do music and communication and people love it as the file can be played on many devices. Believe it or not there are still dedicated portable music players too.

That's why we have such great games on phones!!
Millions of high profile AAA blockbusters!!!
Unbelievably good!

The port to PC has a lot to do with using the same engine as Death Stranding, I've always thought about it.

On the other hand, they have confirmed that this is something specific, that the console will always have its own exclusive games.

Some are doing a drama of this for nothing, as if this is now the general trend with all games. , when Sony is the first to say that this will not be the case.

In fact, I don't think you have played anything on console as many console games are 60fps and a couple of them 120 and you don't seem to even know it. So...what are you talking about?

If you see a huge difference in 60vs120 doesn't somehow disprove my point that you are in the minority. Make a poll " the difference 60vs120 is huge? Yes/no. It will be fan.
Even funnier if you do it in a more generic/mainstream forum.

p.s. In fact I had a gaming PC before you even born. I don't want to make it personal. But when kids respond with ad hominem I have to make it personal too. Can't confront stupidity with plain reasoning, unfortunately.
I'm not arguing that there aren't 60+ FPS console games. Im saying YOU have never played a game at 60+ Fps. On any platform. Because if you did, you wouldn't be in a PC thread making ignorant arguments.

I hope more PS exclusives come to PC. Even if I don't play each one of them, the meltdowns will be glorious.

Getting some serious Nioh PC announcement flashbacks with this one:

Or I see things differently. As I said you are the minority( I am pretty sure, even in the neogaf bubble). It seems you don't know it yet though.

I probably have played more 60+/120+ fps games that you ever played in your gaming life. You have to just listen and respect different views as I respect yours. Even if for my perspective it's insane to read that you can see a "huge" difference in 60 vs 120.

We're you playing at 120fps on a 60hz panel by any chance? That's the only way you couldn't tell a difference, and even then, there would be less input lag at the very least.

As for the last years that I am not into PC gaming: PSVR is 120hz( it has native 60/90/120 fps games, I am not talking about reprojection). Either way a have access to PC's with frame rates above 120fps. Not mine of course. In addition I had a gaming PC in the past.

If I actually found this difference huge I could build a PC again at any time. I don't.

This thread is about a game though not about fps in general. So I will try to not add more off topic comments.

That's unfortunate. Or maybe it's good for you? It's easy for me to notice the difference though.

This argument has no sense unless there's an agreement on terms.
What's "120 fps game"?
To make it easier: how many frames out of each 10 are allowed to be >8.3ms? How many are allowed to be <8.3ms?
What's 90% frame time? What's 96% frame time?

P.S. my version: "30 fps" = 99% 32ms, "60 fps" = 99% 16ms (these are the typical values for a console title)

Enlighten us, which console games are 60 fps and which are 120fps?

Do we know PC requirements or its still early.
Not sure.. but you could probably look at Death Stranding's requirements and assume they'd be fairly close to that.

edit: nvm, Death Stranding doesn't currently have them either.. so who knows lol

Well, this is what they are saying right now
What if horizon is a huge success on PC? Do you really think that this is going to be their last game on PC? Also, notive how he is not denying that there will be more PS exclusive games on PC. He is just saying that they won't be there on release, but might be a few months later. Just look at Death Stranding, a few months after release its going to be on PC. Also, the guy who predicted Horizon coming to PC also said that there are going to be more to follow ;)
But we will see.

As others also said in this and other threads, Sony already talked about bringing exclusive multiplayer-focused games to PC as well. They also said that there will be less singleplayer storydriven AAA-titles and more multiplayer-focused games going into next-gen.

People need to pay more attention.

But they never said a definite "NO" or even anything close. So it seems we might just have a delayed release window. But a win win for pc players and Sony, as well as fans of the game. I'm excited for this gen!

Nobody said otherwise.

But yeah, this isn't necessarily a bad thing.

Without a definite NO, I feel that Sony will continue to drop it's exclusives on pc now, and over ps5 lifetime. Definitely not a bad thing for pc, as we get to play exclusives from both consoles, and better multiplatforms.

I bet after the series x and ps5, there will be modular hardware, so users can upgrade certain hardware in their system. It seems to be the best solution, going forward. No one is necessarily left behind, and users who want to upgrade, can do just that

That's what I said earlier. But it's mostly gonna be multiplayer-focused games, now that cross-platform play is open to all games. Sony talked about this.
Rumors are already going around about Killzone Breach mp-only and TLOU2 MP, planned for PC as well.

Perhaps, don't think so, but we'll have to see how the industry develops next-gen.

It might be multiplayer games, as well as all the single player games. There was never a definite no to that. That's my point. Games seem to be going that route, and it's only pissing off the console warriors. Anyone who doesn't like this move, is a console warrior.

Nobody said there won't be any singleplayer exclusives coming to PC, ever.

So apparently you even believe that the majority, if not all, Sony games will come to pc platform? If you aren't disagreeing, then we both believe these games will come to pc, plus all of the multiplayer games.

Depends on what you are implying.

If Sony focusses on multiplayer games more than singleplayer games, or equally even, then obviously the majority of Sony's games will come to PC.

Otherwise no.
And for singleplayer games it is clear that they won't come day and date to PC as well. How long before sp games see a PC release, if at all, is anyone's guess.

Imo they clearly mention this release(HZD) as a bait to move gamers on PS consoles. If this won't happen maybe they will reconsider it. But who knows. Things change.

I think its smart there is money on the table you could potentially go on selling another 8 million or so copies and get people invested into wanting to play a sequel only on ps5 for a unknown timed period.

Good luck with that one.
My thoughts exactly. Sony doesn't have system sellers IMO, otherwise I would own a ps4. I just don't see myself spending at least $500 to $600 bucks for a single game, that's also single player.... I'll wait a few months and play the entirety of Sony catalog over time. No rush.

That Sony exec's PR is BS.

PC gamers playing a 3 year old old SP focused game is not going to make people jump ship. Just as putting PS Now on PC so they can stream even older ,at 720p/30fps isn't either.

It's purely a side revenue play. And get ready for more.

That's like saying a third party dev releasing multiplat games should have console gamers skewing to PC over time because the PC version will be better. Everyone knows a decent PC will have better graphics and options, but I don't see PS and Xbox gamers flocking to PC..... especially when last gen most console games were shitty at 720/30.

If you drive a BMW, and Honda offers you free test drives of a 3 year old Civic, I'm pretty sure the Beemer guy isn't going going to drop his BMW and go Civic.

🤦‍♂️ by releasing the 1st game on PC and making its sequel exclusive

Yeah I get the logic. That won't happen

What's wrong with having a PC and a console? I thought everyone did.. Wow I'm naive I guess.

I think entice implies PC gamers that don't have a console and don't care about owning one. If they already didn't care about buying a PS4 for exclusives before it's doubtful they would now

I keep seeing people saying that this is gonna be some one time event and they'll still make console exclusive games.

Am I taking crazy pill? What the dude actually says is that they dont have day and date plans for releasing them. It basically confirms that they do plan to release their games on pc, just not when.

If it comes 3 or 5 or 4 years later, it doesnt matter, pc gamers or people like me who do play on consoles but arent that tied to them will wait.

We have other games to play while we wait, from backlogs to new releases, there is no down time.

If sony wants to maybe bring pc people to their console or not lose people like me, they better start being more clear on which games will come to pc or not.

With no uncertain letters come and say "this game will never be on pc", then maybe some of the pc dudes that were already on fence on buying a console might be conviced (and thats a big if).

Get ready for the mass of used 2080 Ti on ebay, evreyones going Sony after one game. :messenger_grinning_squinting:

I know I don't want a console shit box anymore than before so theres 1 for you.
I haven't gamed on PC in a while, and my current PC is a laptop not geared to gaming.

But if PC gamers are going to be dumping their PC after playing a 3 year old Sony game, I can't wait to score a gaming rig for cheap.

Admit it PC gamers, Hermen Hurst expects you PCers to go PS after you play Horizon.

After reading his tweet, I'm packing my bags up, and selling all my pc gear. No more high resolution, high refresh rates, cheap game sales, even my high end audio setup has to go, because this raytracing audio is going to be hot fiiiire! I don't mind prioritizing all the wrong things, such as resolution over framerate! Who needs that anyways, no one can see past 30fps! My console will beat pc gaming for the next 7 years!

Sounds good.

After you play Horizon on PC in the summer. The second you get that itch to dump your rig, PM me the details. I'll buy it off you. I'll even offer you 5% more than the average price on eBay....... but you have to cover shipping to my place. lol

Don't wait too long or else eBay prices will drop even more when more people dump their PC when Sony's next "experimental PC release" comes later.

Ever just chill in bed and play on the switch or a console on the bedroom bigscreen? It's not a bad life.
