Only that concern trolling isn't what's happening here (outside of the few fanboys who are just bandwagoning). Having watched and read what has leaked, TLOU2 is the video game equivalent of The Last Jedi. And this is coming from someone who has played Naughty Dog's stuff since the Jak series on the PS2. It's worse than what Halo 5 has done to the Halo series.

Does anyone here know how being paid works in gaming industry? Is it different than avg joes who get paid every two weeks?

The rumour is a disgruntled guy didn't get paid. That might even be a BS reason.

So a guy is on the payroll, and suddenly ND HR dept cuts off his pay stub cuz of..... reasons?

Is a possible reason employees get a big bonus pay out when the game is done or launches, but ND/Sony decision to delay it means bonuses get delayed?

Do you guys think it's a bonus related pay dispute? Or something to do with regular weekly pay because gaming has weird ways of paying people?
 
I really enjoyed TLOU1 and I think people shitting on its gameplay and design are straight up clowning.

TLOU2 might have some truly revolutionary gameplay mechanics, I don't know. What I do know is it does not have the narrative to justify a 60 dollar purchase from me.

Maybe further down the line after release.
 
I went almost a full yr without watching anything for GoW even after release and was surprised AF when he went back to the cabin near the end to retrieve something. Easy to avoid anything just dont watch or listen to no talents.

Why can't they quit without screwing ND first? So they have to take it passively and "change career", they have to waste thousands of dollars in legal battles and lose because the system is rigged, but they can't stick it back to the system some other way?
They're sticking it to capitalism, isn't it wonderful? It's a better story of revenge than what we got apparently from the game itself.

Okay the amount of hate this game is getting for it's story is suspicious. And the fact many people are saying the gameplay in a ps3 game TLOU was crap is pretty crazy. Having replayed the game on ps4, It is spectacular with a tremendous atmosphere.
Like literally many posts straight trashing TLOU 2 as if it is some rando zombie game

A lot of people hate TLOU and ND because the lead the charge of PlayStation to the top of the industry and made Xbox games look pretty bad in comparison. ND is like their antichrist....

I don't like the plot of the new game and wont be buying at launch at least but the gameplay was always incredible...atmosphere too, as you said.

I saved myself $60. I didn't want to believe the leaks to be true, but they were. I am so disappointed this is where they took thise beloved franchise. What the hell happened? Like someone else said, this is so S8 of GOT all over again.

The best aspects of TLoU were its setting, gameplay and environment design, not the characters or the story. If part II is more of the same, I'm happy.

I did love the characters and story, but aye.
Getting a Cliff notes overview from an annoyed twat trying to ruin it for thousands is a million miles away from playing it, and investing in it as it progresses.
 
What a few people (possible the usual SJW/pro insanity type or maybe not) dont realize when they see all these posts about the hate towards these types of narrative, is that we have been feed for quite a while this SJW nonsense, from hollywood and the left media, and is not a conspiracy its real.

They maybe dont have an "agenda", they are just people who think they are morally better than everyone, and think that representation of minorities and showing more gay people in games is what makes games better stupidly.

These crazy people like Neil Druckmann who are above a lot of artists and creative people, force them to work towards their own beliefs, instead of letting original stories and ideas flow. Look at hollywood and a lot of big game studios, everything has to be "minorities, sexual preference, female empowerment" and thats not where youll succeed in creating an original and exciting idea. People are tired of that shit, and thats when you see people expressing their anger toward this shit, and then you see idiots like the terminator dark fate director calling the fans who are tired of this trolls or haters or whatever, most people dont like what the entertainment media has become but the insane corporate leftists refuse to change.

The term go woke go broke is very real, just ask hollywood how profits where in 2019 with movies like terminator dark fate, charlies angels, Harley Quinn or before with movies like oceans 8, they keep going with that narrative and the average movie goer is hungry for movies centered in character development and a good story instead of focusing in the sex, race or sexual preference, they are such idiots

EDIT: Quite frankly I'm surprised that the rest is an issue in a 'story'. It sometimes borders on Life Of Brian-esque kickback. I thought we were past all this.

Thats not the point. Tell me, is there or not a narrative thats keep repeting in games and movies, that everything has to be about minorities, sexual preference or race. That games and movies nowadays are not about the story or big ideas, they are about "is this character gay or not?" "Is this character a minority or not?"

Is boring and repetitive dont you think? Maybe it would have been better to forget about the sexuality of your character for a second. Dont you think we have enough entertainment media about the sexual preference of the character, movies are bigger culprits but with big games theres a trend clearly forming with big studios.

As long as it doesn't go the way of Uncharted 4, where you are constantly interrupted from the fun game play for tons of forced walking sections, and 30 minute flashback scenes where you do nothing but look at shit and run on rooftops.

The pacing in Uncharted 4 kinda ruined future playthroughs for me.

But what the hey, leaks happen in all media. TLoU2 isn't the first game to get spoiled.

If I look hard enough, I can find every movie spoiler before it launches. And possibly a bittorrent copy from someone who somehow already has a BR copy months before it hits stores (probably a warehouse guy who got a copy). And even worse, you can find the spoiler of every movie on Wikipedia the day of the release.

It's mostly the people that weren't going to buy TLOU Part II trying to latch on to any negative they can find but this game will break records and win many awards
 
I'm not to happy with the story from the little I read, but at the end of the day a good game is a good game. I liked the first one but didn't love it. I still think this will be a great game overall. I don't get offended easily with the direction developers choose to take with their story.

You seem to be an expect in demographic representation, let me ask you: Among the gay/lesbian characters, how many should be natives, african american, asian, white, hispanic, arabic, african (people who just immigrated)? Do we know how the split is between male and female in each category? Should bi-sexual characters be counted as gay, or they get their own separate quota? What about NPCs, shouldn't they have sexual preferences too?

I just want to be sure I use an up to date oppression grid when I decide if this is OK to like the game, or if ND stepped out of line (you know there must be at least one aspect they did not get in their heads yet, they should not be let off the hook).

How come ellie is not fat? in the US most people are fat or obese, so 60% of all characters should be fat in all games. Unless they are black, then it would be about pushing harmful stereotypes, especially if they are eating fried chicken.

Such an idea would've fixed what I feel to be TLoU's biggest story fumble, which was not letting the player choose to sacrifice Ellie.

Having to kill those surgeons completely took me out of the story and severed any attachment I had to Joel as a character. The entire time I was thinking "this is dumb, my character is dumb, I don't want this".

If you make a story-centric game where the story is not affected by the player at all, then you didn't make a game, you made a CG movie.

They're featured characters in a trailer. I don't think they would have a trailer focus on them if they didn't play an important role in the story.

The point is that people are upset that her character design is going "woke".

Honest question. How many years have you been forced to watch " SJW bull crap" ? Did some one physically strap you to a chair and say you must watch Will and Grace? Heres a revelation minorities, women, people like watching storys about them. Guess what sometimes people watch movies about other cultures to learn more about them or maybe its just a good movie. You picked 2 movies that didnt do well, and didnt mention all the others that did good, amazing numbers.

Why does a game plot and story you don't like suddenly make the game unplayable. Smh yall can literally play game full of unrealistic monsters but let the game have an unrealistic scenario completely fabricated about a lesbian and you lose your shit. Because most people are man babies and cant handle a different point of view of perspective. Who care, im not for the alphabet mafia all the time but I sure as well am going to play the game and most likely enjoy the fuck out of it. What people dont realise is when they say "I dont want politics in my games!!!" Dont realise games they love have politics in it, but just ones the agree with. How many times have I ever seen star wars fans say "the new movies demonize white men".....have the seen episodes 4/5/6... lol I suggest you dont watch those then either.
