Not good at all and this is only going to give people reason to blame Jews for this virus. The orthodox community has been a sore spot with this virus. Its the same thing in Israel where the hot spots were in the Orthodox communities and they were the most resistant to social distancing measures.

This is 100% accurate. There are sheriff deputies in some of the Eastern counties where the numbers are low who aren't enforcing it, and are even going into small "non-essential" businesses that are opening against Pelosi's nephew's edicts and instead of shutting them down they're paying for their services.
Pelosi's nephew likes to think he's a king of his own "Nation State" but reality is going to hit him in the head soon. Even some of the Western states that he entered an agreement into to open are wanting to open before him, which will piss off those states when he'll tell them no.

UK figure for today is 445 deaths in hospitals. That is a substantial improvement in mid-week figures.
UK started adding care home figures today to the general figures which makes the total toll around 750.
I do cynically wonder whether they chose to do that now as the rate is dropping to keep people cautious, knowing most will only read the top line figure

3-5% would need ventilators if the virus was as deadly and dangerous as the initial reports said, and what this government strategy of quasi-lockdowns was based on. It's just not the case though, and I think we have learned that over the past month.
Now that we are seeing more and more antibody tests come out, it's striking how consistent they all are, which of course makes intuitive sense.

In NY if you hit a vent its basically a 80-90% chance of dying. The ventilator concern may have been totally misjudged and its possible it is doing more harm then good.

From what I've heard from some friends and acquaintances who work in hospitals it's more that by the time a patient is in a ventilator for this it's often too late.
They say in general ventilators are a last resort for pneumonia and other lung issues. People are already struggling to breathe on their own and even being given oxygen, much less intubated, can build dependency and make it less likely to be able to breather normally afterward. Hence they try not to do it unless they're pretty sure the patient is going to die without it and do it in hopes they're one of the minority who recover. So giving them some chance, vs likely no chance.
That's second hand info and I have no personal expertise here, but also no reason to doubt thee folk who work, or have worked, in ICUs.

This just made me think of a tangential issue that plagues us as humans.
Most of us care far more about being right than truth. If we collectively flipped that, can you imagine the world we'd live in?!?
Most are far more interested in validation of the ego - the comfort and security, no matter how artificial, that comes with the perception, even through self-deception, of being correct. The need to protect that sense of identity trumps any real hunger for truth for most all of the world.
Do you love truth?
Do you still love it when it unravels all the foundations upon which you have built your world and sense of self?
The answers to those questions are almost universally Yes and No, respectively.

Looks like we are seeing blood clotting in cases. Testing for blood clotting is difficult and can introduce other complications. So some doctors might just have to make a choice of to treat or not with blood thinners.
Just some more signs that this virus has a lot more tricks up its sleeve.

Likely related to the strokes they've seen in even young survivors as well since blood clots can spread to the brain. Hopefully this is a very rare effect of the virus as it's very scary if it becomes widespread.

Look at it this way...
assuming a doubling every day....if someone gets 10 viral particles, over 7 days:
10 -> 20 -> 40 -> 80 -> 160 -> 320 -> 640
Assuming someone gets 1 viral particle, over 7 days:
1 -> 2 -> 4 -> 8 -> 16 -> 32 -> 64, from here: -> 128 -> 256 -> 512 -> 1024
So, to match the viral count of someone that breaths in 10 viral particles, the 1 viral particle person requires 3-4 additional days to reach the same load.
During this time, the immune system is hard at work and provides a bit of time for it to play catch-up (if you will), but the difference in the amount of virus contracted on day 1 can significantly influence the course of the infection - I'd surmise that beyond genetics, this exposure also affects how bad the viral load gets, and by extension how bad the symptoms get.
Just speculation, and this is based on quadratic growth - exponential the differences start to become even more dramatic.
Study in germany had the same Results. But still need to be reviewed.

For all the talk about extended quarantines and stuff, I honestly don't think it will matter. In my area, people have begun going back outside again and just resuming normal life even though lockdowns have not been lifted. The weather is getting nicer and warmer. Grocery stores even have a lot more stuff in stock now, because people are less panicky. People in the summer won't be able to resist going outside and are just gonna say fuck it and start going out, and if enough people do it I'm just not sure what the local governments can do. Police can't arrest everyone.
Just hope it doesn't lead to more spikes.
