On and off. Had been wanting to get back into combat sports more seriously this year, but pandemic conditions put a damper on that, so probably 2021 or whenever things get back to normal. Staying active though. You able to train?

NeoGAF is still more relevant as a site welcome for (sometimes) mature gamers. Never been on Reeeset and recently saw their page for the first time. I wanted to make sure I wasn't being biased by saying they were total trash...nope...they are beyond trash. There's virtual nothing gaming related over there. Seems like it's a mess of politics in every category. For the record, I don't care if someone is left or right wing (as I tend to stay out of politics and controversy); they modeled their templates directly on GAFs. However, everything is whiny left wing politics. I've also never seen bans fly up so fast. I mean, some people need to be banned...but many on there were simply looking to give honest non-biased/non-political contribution to gaming discussion. Something as seemingly harmless as 'Lara Croft is a cutie' will get you banned.

GAF is honestly hotter than many of the other sites, too. I see politics are respectfully kept in their category, consoles warring and trolling are discouraged (great moderation here and fair), and NeoGAF still maintains the human element (users with diverse personalities, care, and humor).

Just seen this but was wondering yesterday how we were doing.

Good to see us trending upwards and yes 100% it's great to have a forum where opinions against the spectrum are welcomed. We can have a real debate. Too many forums these days require a hive mind or you're out the door.
 
I think ERA is doing their part, having just recently been issued the standard ban dismissing transphobia I came to realise I missed my GAF 10y anniversary in January. Hope it's not too late. If this forum is picking up steam again, great. I could go another 10 years

This is exactly why I decided to visit neogaf today. I basically want to go where the news breaks first and see interesting reactions to the news. Neogaf when I checked here a few months back felt like it was dead but I see this thread post and it makes me happy. Been a long time member and I hardly posted both here and on era -- just mostly a lurker but reading the replies on era gives me headaches. The amount of screaming how people are pieces of shit / vile/ toxic for not absolutely having a particular thought process is crazy because the ones screaming it are being vile and toxic AND protected by mods.

Other than that, I also miss the legendary gif reactions most of all.

I wish there was a way to know how many of the new Gaf users are people migrating from ResetEra. I think it's pretty much a given that many new/returning members, are people who got banned from Era, and let's be real, that's pretty much a daily occurrence.

As the site continues to recover, it does make me wonder what NeoGaf will look like 5 years from now. The one and only thing that I think is great about Era, is that it keeps the people who are completely intolerant of independent thought, all contained in one place.

There is a LOT of shit posts on ERA, it seems busy but it's just garbage threads and replies for days. In terms of gaming news there is little that doesn't break on both sites. Jump in and reply more often to contribute mate, or just lurk and enjoy. I've seen far more cordial behaviour here while enabling posters to have different platform/game loves and every mix in between.
 
It's awesome to see this place becoming much more active again. I kept my account after the exodus and was sad to see that people were posting so infrequently. sometimes the most recent post was from 20 minutes before or so. So yeah, I went to the other place but eventually got permabanned for saying I would vote Trump over Sanders a few months back. Was my first and last ban there to. Lol. I was pleasantly surprised when I came back here and saw the activity had increased dramatically.

Massive credit to you EviLore and your team for not giving up and improving the site immensely. Not an easy thing to do.
 
I wanna thank EviLore EviLore for rebuilding and making this forum my new permanent home! I had always been a critic of NeoGaf over the years, especially when I always believed it tried too hard to influence the gaming industry. That's no longer the case, I'm much happier here.
 
I like neogaf. So far everyone has been nice. nobody has been a dick. I think all those people went to Era. Iv had good posts. Seen some good stuff. Iv had some people give good advice on tv's and other stuff. They seem ok with political talk here from both right and left points of view as long as it doesn't get to crazy. Im glad the site is doing well.
 
Yes I'm noticing more posts alright.
I still do create threads that get no replies because I'm a boring bastard and nobody cares but I got some great advice on Mass effect lately.

Biggest thing though is the forum makes me laugh. I've always loved dark humour. You don't get that with other forums.

Sure thing. Glad the community has been receptive to the rebuilding efforts, too. The braindead groupthink reinforcement bubbles that self-perpetuate on social media are not my idea of a good time.
 
This is why I've come to NeoGAF, for the 6000 posts a day. You can really chew over your thoughts and consider those of others when you have so many people paying attention and offering opinions.

I'm very glad gaf is rebuilding. I didn't go to reee in the first wave because honestly I hated their clique but all the community went with it and I had to reluctantly join. I hated my time there. I miss my old warframe community tho, shoutout to to F frizby if you still lurk.
 
GAF getting back what it deserves. Great to read different opinions, interact with different people and minus the pricks that acts neutral when they're actually stirring shit up always and derailing every thread

That's a universal social media/forum thing. For whatever reason, the majority of people always prefer to lurk, than to directly create content.
