"What we have done with Sony is really architect something for their application, for their special sauce," she said. "It's a great honor for us. We're really excited about what the next generation PlayStation will do."
So yeah. I'm a dumbass. It won't directly work, it's fine. There's many levels I don't understand within the scape. Going from storage memory and bypassing layers isn't possible on the PC sphere. Tis cool bro. ThatShort answer: no. To implement a new PS5 design, you need to completely get rid of the old PC design, get rid of all the legacy, and write new software.
But you're talking about making completely new solutions in the PC space, not just helping. Which is incorrect. Some ideas of course will be used and there will be changes, but the design of the PS5 is not for the PC, because it is created for the PS5 to be effective and this design is specific. Lisa Su stated this in an interview. And there is no point in arguing, because it is true.
I'm sorry, but I don't see you as technically savvy. You just radiate what you think is real, hypothetically, but you don't even realize how wrong you are about the details. You didn't answer in fact how they will solve problems with abstractions and layering, driver overlays, and so on. You can't get RID of this on a PC so that you can adopt the PS5 design. Or is it still possible? Then write how, since you're such a smart ass. I don't care if you're tired or not. Either answer in fact, or go further.
Good to hear, then they must be pretty confident that almost every game will just run.![]()

Being a brain surgeon myself, I cannot accept your hypothesisFunny you mention that, as I thought the same when I saw that pic. Great minds think alike.
Except for the fact that blind fanboyism almost certainly comes from the frontal lobe, seeing as it's responsible for the emotional side of things. The xbox would be the temporal lobe, where more rational and sensory based things originate.
My opinions are not to be taken serious. I fully acknowledge Sony and it's awesome PS4 to be superior in every way to MS and it's xbox. I accept Sony and the PS4 as our lord and savior. Amen.
What about this test?Being a brain surgeon myself, I cannot accept your hypothesis
I don't need a source, it's just logic and reasoning LOL!!Source it.
I've known about this for years. And so far, this is only for highly specialized server tasks, where both big data volumes and speeds are needed. Will it all come to consumer PCs? I don't know, I've been hoping for this for a long time. But there is still nothing and what are the reasons? I don't know either. But I suspect that the global PC market is just not ready yet. And so, I fully agree with you that GPUDirect should come to consumer PCs, sooner or later, but it will definitely happen. The Direct Storage API is the initial stage. That GPU Direct link already says that they're working on bypassing the CPU and moving storage directly to GPU.
What about this test?
And if you also read my previous answers, I said it'd be used in data centres and servers more than the consumer market too. Come on bro!I've known about this for years. Ok-ok, don't hit me hard. I didn't catch your main idea right away. But it turns out that we are arguing about the same thing... I love this topic. As we both can see if that happens then it filters through, yeah? So we're on the same page, different angle?

So maybe it was a storage problem, that with the advancements of nand flash has solved, it has only recently become plausibly effective? Bottlenecks in I/O throughput? I don't know but I'm interested
PS5 is gonna sell like hotcakes confirmed!![]()
That is one strong, independent black controller that don't need no man.
Too pro consumer to be true![]()

You know that it's lost all credibility when they put Youtube number 8, besides it's a load of crap & doesn't mean anything to start with. That frontal lobe......= PS5
The frontal lobe is the part of the brain that controls important cognitive skills in humans, such as emotional expression, problem solving, memory, language, judgment, and sexual behaviors. It is, in essence, the "control panel" of our personality and our ability to communicate.

That's what I always thought, Sony is just testing to be sure no game gets broken with PS5 boost.![]()

There's probably the same kind of file marker on the discs that means it'll be rejected by, say, an Xbox when you insert it. I think that's probably the easiest part of the whole thing. But then how does the PS5 know when to run a game in PS5 mode or PS4/PS4 Pro mode?
But then how does the PS5 know when to run a game in PS5 mode or PS4/PS4 Pro mode?
Simple.
PS4 mode - game has never received a PS4 pro patch, so it runs as it did in the PS4 (will probably leverage the SSD a bit and have better framerates)
PS4 pro mode - game that received or was designed already with the PS4 Pro in mind. Same as above
PS5 mode - game that has been patched to have either some sort of capability only possible on PS5 or received a compatibility patch.
That's all.
Presumably framerate boosts would be automatic where it's not locked, as it's tantamount to playing a PC game on a more powerful system. No, I don't think that's right. There must be some way for PS4 games to work in PS5 mode so they get a boost to frame rate/resolution.*
*where not locked at 30fps or 60fps/using dynamic resolution

Im not sure if this will hold true for next gen. UE5 touts ease of use for open world games, via virtualized geometry and automated lods ("lodless system")Hell naughty dog is so talented they need like three teams with their own production crew that put out a game every year on a 3 year cycle like cod. I love tlou2 but the fact that it released so late means we won't have the next naughty dog game until 2023.
It needs to be dual tone !Why do the buttons still look white?

Yeah there are insiders that are saying different things right now from each other, but when you enable logic & reasoning you would know that they're just doing it for F2P games & put online paywall behind Game Pass. That's all I needed to hear.
But yeah, I like tech. I'm love seeing new advances in things. And yup what I was going about with the changes in PS5 is things including straight to GPU computing, as you knew it as GPU Direct, it was only last year that Nvidia had some storage solution! So maybe it was a storage problem, that with the advancements of nand flash has solved, it has only recently become plausibly effective? Bottlenecks in I/O throughput? I was just about to butt in and say you are both probably right lol...
Here's a tweet from Tim, that might be of interest.
I can confirm this diagnosisThat frontal lobe......= PS5
The frontal lobe is the part of the brain that controls important cognitive skills in humans, such as emotional expression, problem solving, memory, language, judgment, and sexual behaviors. It is, in essence, the "control panel" of our personality and our ability to communicate.
I wouldnt be surprised a few people on this forum owned AMD shares or at least options in AMD.What are you expecting? Because I don't think it means anything related to next-gen consoles, or at least nothing important.
Oh, I don't think it's related to the consoles, but it's AMD so... maybe it's important? Didn't know where else to post. What are you expecting? Because I don't think it means anything related to next-gen consoles, or at least nothing important.
Well almost certain now backward compatibility will be on the PS5. Looking at the included Astro's Playroom they show playthrough where you unlock a PS3, not sure if anybody mentioned this already but maybe this is actually unlocking the BC to play PS3 games (and ofcourse stages to unlock BC for PS4,2,1)
They have bundled the game in for free, and they probably want everybody to play it to experience all the new features of DualSense5. What better way to give people the incentive to play it by actually unlocking real BC abilities, I guess there will be a skip for people who can't be arsed
My guess is swappable plates, like the sides of the console. So selling LE plates could be console+controller plates bundles together. Maybe wishful thinking overall. Why do the buttons still look white?

EDIT: Looks like that's what it is, based on pics earlier in the thread. Awesome!
I was actually wondering if it's beneficial to get the pulse 3D headset since I already have the gold Wireless one. I normally use home theater (AVR), but I have been growing to the thought of using the headset for the AAA gaming experience more.
Has there been any real differences or a major reason to get the Pulse set?
