No Refills At Fast Food

Darkmakaimura

Can You Imagine What SureAI Is Going To Do With Garfield?
A couple of weeks ago or more, I went to eat at Burger King.

No refills if you're eating in, even for water.

I lack good transportation and sometimes when I go grocery shopping, I like to grab a couple cheap burgers or whatever before I shop, if I have the spare the money.

Of course the excuse for no refills is Covid.

Where I live, it is normal to have temps of 110-115 degrees Fahrenheit.

I'm drenched in sweat whenever I get home since my only transportation is my dad's electric scooter.

I really hope this insanity ends. Anyways, I won't eat out anymore, especially fast food.

And no, I'm not a fat slob. I'm 6' 2" and weigh around 155 pounds. I've already gone without eating (excepr a few chips) for a day and a half so I'm sort of used to it. I like good fast food especially El Pollo Loco.

Btw it's not only Burger King. Jack in the Box and everyone else has same policy.

Around here you can still get refills, but you have to go ask for a new cup every time you want a refill.

🤷‍♂️

Not sure why the different rules where you are.

Are there no water fountains in hot Arizona?
Who's going to walk around in 114 weather and die of dehydration? Fuck that give me water refills lol

I was outside for 30 minutes and that felt like hell.

maybe don't be such a glutton

lifehack: USE THE SINK FREE WATER FOREVER
"Don't be a glutton."

Uh I don't know if you're being sarcastic or not, especially considering we seem to share a lot of the same views, but I mostly drink water and this after coming in from 110+ heat.

I'm far from being a glutton too considering I barely eat as it is.

You'd think these guys were the only ones living in a hot state. What I do is carry some water with me, it's cheaper and I can ice it up as much as I like. Better for the environment as well. If they are so short of cash why wouldn't you want to save some $$$?

Well I don't do it that often. I probably won't eat out at all for quite some time now but once in awhile I feel like a nice greasy burger. I don't even eat much as it is and I usually stick to dollar menu stuff. I love El Pollo Loco though.

Access to water should be a basic human right. I don't know why anyone would be against that. And water fountains arent easily accessible out here.

I don't know how anyone lives here without a car.

You're in Arizona or Nevada?

My family lived in Phoenix for a few years when I was a baby. I barely remember any of it except the house was nice.

It spooks me that I don't even remember what my bedroom looked like.

Anyways, when I was about four, my family moved to Las Vegas and I've been here ever since.

No refills on water is a fucking joke, I would have told them the price of a cup of water just cost them a customer and never went back.

If for some reason, you're traveling around by foot, does it not make sense to carry water out of the house with you? Do some waist pack thing.

Alternatively, if you're legiterally dying, go up to the counter and buy a new cup, so you can have more.

As opposed to Rosa Parks-San taking his stand for civil water rights.

Bro it's a cup of water, I paid for a meal, go fill the fucking thing up, most places will refill pop for free. Covid as an excuse to not reflll my glass of water? Suck my dick.

Way to spin something completely different out of advice to BE PREPARED AND CARRY YOU OWN WATER.

You know its hot
you know your going outside
you know water fountains are not easily accessible
Your unemployed so it saves you money

but no, you just want to complain do nothing and want corporations to wipe your ass for you. Burger King is not responsible for supping your human rights.

Sorry to eh

oof COVID must have hit the area hard. Hope things start looking up for you.
It has and no things are not good for me right now.

I know the whole refill thing is sort a "1st world problem" thing to complain about but even little things are starting to bother and I'm just getting fed up with it all. Bars are getting hit here really bad.

That would be annoying. I can't remember the last time I went inside a fast foot restaurant to eat though. I've been drive through only for a long time now.

Nah, im pretty skinny.
I can't even gain weight even when I was eating a lot.

It might be genetic. My mom was very thin too.

I kinda wish I could get a little fat. People may be envious of weight, but it does no good when I'm ugly as fuck lmao.

Weaver has never been nor ever will be fat... I've known him for over 20 years. If you are not traveling around Vegas in the summer in an air conitioned car you are dripping with sweat all the time...

That would be me at my job but most places give me refills since I'm not a "customer"..

I notice you didn't refute the sack of shit part
🤷 At least im honest. Pieces of shit deserve water too.

In my senior year in HS i weighed 91 pounds. At 27 i don't weigh much more and only now im starting to have a little belly. Soda is starting to have its toll on me. Lol

Yeah, this irks me. Surface contact risk has been revised down to negligible, but we're still pretending we're going to get AIDS by using the same soda fountain. I'm sure it doesn't hurt that it results in a smidge more profit for the big chains.

He'd be considered a piece of shit at Resetera for fraternizing with Gaf.

You have to give him that at least. There's a tiny bit of defiance and individual will. Maybe we can work with that.

Honest advice? It will always happen. There is so much stupid shit in the world. The only thing you can do is control your reaction to it, and learn to prepare for it and not let it bother you too much.

What is with you people? Not refilling water makes no fucking sense. Almost everything people complain about on this videogame message board is a first world problem.

Exactly, I fucking hate it when people use that phrase!

Yep, and they'll do shit more and more to squeeze a little more out of customers and blame it on COVID. Stores closing early to "clean" due to COVID, removing menu items, not allowing refills, not keeping things stocked, etc...

I have to stay in hotels often for work, and the universal cancellation of breakfast sticks in my craw. Don't give me that fucking horseshit about not being able to figure out how to let people make a waffle, and then fuck off back to their room to eat. Just tell me to my damn face that, "Bacon and eggs are expensive bro, and no, you're still going to pay the same for a room."

This is the new 9/11 where 20 years later we're still taking off our damned shoes at the airport for a theatrical show of non-existent safety, continental breakfasts are never coming back.

We Americans are probably too stupid to observe social distancing etiquette with the sweet, sweet lure of endless syrup.
