As we approach console launches Microsoft recently had one heck of a pickup and is now a "threat" in the gaming world. Is it time for SONY to buy Rockstar?

I'll go ahead and comment than. Sony fans are starting to sense a game drought as Microsoft is putting together a set of games and they have no answer to the recent deals.
Did Sony sell off their other Studios? Who bought them? A game drought? Sony wasn't/isn't lacking in studios. They already have them. MS had to invest to have the same type of output.I'll go ahead and comment than. Nintendo
Building game rosters is the biggest thing and Microsoft is putting together games.Funny how it seems the prevailing thought is that somehow, without doing anything but sign a cheque, MS has put themselves in front and how will Sony "react".
Whereas, Sony has long set the benchmark and this recent action was really MS reacting to Sony. And even then, they only put themselves in a position to compete, what they actually do may be a different story.
Funny that.
I don't think Sony is interested in those types of games anymore outside of FF and Persona.I was thinking Vanillaware because they already mostly make games for Playstation systems but you know what? I think they have much more freedom with Atlus than they would have with Sony.
Ya, that dev and Housemarque.I was thinking Vanillaware because they already mostly make games for Playstation systems but you know what? I think they have much more freedom with Atlus than they would have with Sony.
You guys bored?

Yeah I think current Sony wouldn't fund Vanillaware to make games like 13 Sentinels.I don't think Sony is interested in those types of games anymore outside of FF and Persona.
They don't even make an effort to bring SMT to playstation anymore.
It's weird that a game like 13 sentinels is not being released on the switch, looks like the perfect game for it.
I'm currently playing 13 Sentinels and I can tell you that I would gladly pay $200 for that game, that game is fucking phenomenal, its worth very penny. I like Vanillaware games more than most high budget AAA games came out this gen combined. Not big game kinds of studios. But the type that can churn out good digital marketplace games for $19.99 kind of thing.
343 should buy bungieSony should buy 343 Industries.
MS was reacting to Amazon, not Sony. And Amazon Luna is going to be a huge threat to Sony, you're kidding yourself if you think they see Sony as legitimate competition.
My mistake. I didn't know they made that game and its a full price game. I was thinking Dragon Crown kind of thing.Yeah I think current Sony wouldn't fund Vanillaware to make games like 13 Sentinels.

It's a quality over quantity thing for Sony now. PlayStation will never match Xbox's first party output now but I would be shocked if Microsoft puts out a slew of titles that match the caliber of Sony's.I'll go ahead and comment than. If Sony is so insignificant, why couldn't MS beat them?
I think you're on the mark with this. Amazon would have made a play for them if Microsoft didn't step in. Sony doesn't have the cash to be a player in something this big hence why they're scooping up the timed exclusives left right and center. Much less risk with as great of a reward. Being able to play games like Kena, Ghostwire Tokyo and Project Athia first are icing on the cake to the first party offerings.MS was reacting to Amazon, not Sony.
