yes. I brought this up a few weeks ago after the hot chips presentation where this was first revealed.
Back then richard looked at the xsx gpu diagram provided by MS, and it looked identical to RDNA 1.0.
So both XSX and PS5 are rdna 1.0 GPUs with rt and other rdna 2.0 features bolted on. I suspect RDNA 2.0 itself is basically rdna 1.0 with features bolted on but the fact that its releasing so close to consoles means it might have newer features and more architecture changes because unlike console GPUs which had to go in production by spring, RDNA 2.0 desktop GPUs didnt need to go into production until just a couple of months ago.
That's with Xbox I/O hardware, not PS5. The PS5 SSD addresses every bottleneck related to that. It's like people still don't get Cerny's road to PS5 presentation where he talks about this. 100x faster SSD is exactly what the PS5 does.
Keep up man

Kena: Bridge Of Spirits Loads In Just Two Seconds On PS5
Kena: Bridge Of Spirits loads so quickly on the PlayStation 5 that you can’t even see the opening animation.www.thegamer.com
This is obvious when you have less then half the install base.![]()

They all intend to purchase, some not immediately.
I have watched Cerny's conference so many times, i might as well have a PHD in it.
What we are telling you is that loading a game isnt the same as loading a console OS. And Kena is a cross gen game. Lets just wait and see. No need to start sucking each others dicks just yet.
It does on the lower back...Power ranger suit doesn't have a zip. Fraud!
Weird.Quick Resume puts you straight back into the game - the system itself simply acts as though you've pressed the pause button. Interestingly though, I did note that the 6.5 second loading times I saw at Microsoft HQ back in March are now around 12 to 20 seconds. It's true that I was using different games, mind you, but as great as it is, it's not quite as immediate as it felt during my time at the Redmond mothership.
But is not, your code many times is tied to a limit of framerate, that is why you can find games in PC with a limit of framerate is morenah it should. thats what Cerny was talking about when he said the boost mode will have access to both the gpu and cpu clocks. thats how sekiro is 60 fps on x1x because while they locked the resolution, they didnt lock the framerate at 30 fps. which means it can go to 60 fps.
the 2080 can run pretty much everything at 120 fps at 1440p max settings. flight sim and other next gen games are a different story, but if these pro and x1x patches had a 1080p mode with unlocked framerate, you would easily see framerates go upto 120 fps.
They said their console is BC with 1000s of games already running. Xbox fanboys trashed Sony all this time for stating that the majority 99% are working on PS5.
It turned out that Sony who doesn't market BC have better BC than Xbox.
All the FUD spread around Sony turned out the other way around 10X.
So far
It's Xbox that isn't ready for next gen
It's Xbox that spent $750m x10
It's xbox that so far cannot do ray tracing
It's Xbox that isn't fully BC
And I am afraid it is gonna be xbox that will run multiplat games worse than PS5 ( people can go ahead and bookmark my post ).
If I have an observation about the gaming media, it's how meekly they just tow the company line, instead of interrogating the important questions we all have over these very expensive pieces of hardware that the manufacturers want us to buy.
Why isn't good old Richard writing a piece on how bad it is that Msft haven't shown us any new game footage six weeks from launch, instead of just describing backwards compatibility as 'phenomenal'? It bloody should be Richard, it's a fucking powerful next gen machine. Equally, someone - anyone - in the games press should probably be asking Sony why there's been no sign whatsoever of real live consoles out in the wild, a mere seven weeks from launch.
To quote The Joker in The Dark Knight: what happened? did your balls drop off?
Weird.
I was replying to this post of yours which FranXico quoted. included everything. You're all over the place.
Why are you singling out the OS? I'm talking games, OS, everything.
So what if Kena is cross gen. SX is showing a bunch of XB1 games loading and you rebuttal with that? You said PS5 can't do 1 to 2 seconds loading, i show you exactly that and you respond with another excuse.
It's going to get very ugly when see how much more faster the PS5 SSD is. Boot up, dashboard, games. Everything.
But it also works when you switch off your console I think. At least if you put it in "sleep" modeFirst of all, I don't game like that. I usually boot one game, play half an hour or just one hour, turn the console off and do something else. The switching isn't something I'll really use.
Second, no it's not the end of the world, but it *is* disappointing. It's going to be funny to see Bloodborne taking 10 seconds to load while Demon's Souls will boot in like, 3 seconds.

Bookmarked. You asked for gameplay, here is gameplay. The XSX is still more powerful than the PS5, which will be clear once the 3rd party games roll out.
But that's where I am with Xbox Series X backwards compatibility - and I'm hugely impressed by the results.
The boost to system performance compared to Xbox One X is clearly tremendous and I'm liking Microsoft's commitment to the Xbox library and putting so much resource into producing results like the ones I've detailed today. Right now, I think that Series X back-compat delivers circa 2x GPU power, limited perhaps a touch by memory bandwidth, and offers what amounts to a bottomless pit of CPU resources to the point where I don't feel I hit processor limits at all during my tests.
The fact that Microsoft is talking about 4x resolution multipliers and double frame-rate upgrades says to me that the firm knows there's something special here - and I really want to see these features deployed as broadly as possible. The dream would be to see frame-rate unlocking as a system level feature, just as Auto HDR is.
Weird.
Love how you only post in this thread to complain bitch and moan about this thread. Great job.Jesus. A guy can't even post an innocent picture of his daughter playing a game, without the fanboys ripping into him and the game.
its definitely odd. I am not sure whats going on with rdna 2.0 and this 56 CU gpu seems to something custom MS commissioned because they wanted the most powerful console crown. If anything, the leaked PC parts arrangement with 4 shader arrays of 10 cU looks ,like ps5. And big navi leak looks like 2 x ps5.
Notice the leaks, there is only 40 and 80 CU mentioned. Odd.
Where is the GPU in the middle ?
Another Batman analogy here: there's an episode in "Gotham" where Victor Zsasz steps in the police precinct, sending out 50 cops cause he wanted to take Jim Gordon with him. And every damned cop stepped out some in fear, and some cause they were on the payroll.
This is what happens here, the news outlets are fearful of not getting the juicy bits anymore (free merchandise, invitations to different events, news scoops etc) or because some are on the take. It's exactly like the whole press out there, no one is asking the hard questions because it's not worth it for them.
And this goes both for Sony AND Microsoft, each of them are giants, and no one dares step out of line.
4x resolution multipliers compared to what?why not take his conclusion? Why some out of context text passage? Because it doesn't fit your narrative?

Lol no, that's almost a jinx so far, they risk bringing Craig situation back.'Immense' is a pretty humble choice of word from DF. I expected a stronger superlative for the occasion. Why not 'infinite' for example?..
Umm ... I do? I mean, I turn off all my devices when I leave for work or go to sleep because I have lost one too many devices due to power shortages during thunderstorms or problems with the electricity company which short circuited them. A friend of mine's TV literally got fried due to lightning causing a power shortage.Anyway who cold boots their consoles???
Yeah, it's horrendous. I actually turn on my xbox while I'm on the pc and switch the tv to X-Box after 2-3 minutes to make sure I won't waste time looking at the logo.Wait what One X is over a minute to cold boot? Jeez.
Waht are you talking about? I specifically edited the post like a few seconds later with the info regarding the use of the GPU. Calm your tits.why not take his conclusion? Why some out of context text passage? Because it doesn't fit your narrative?
I hope it does. Because if Sony can't cut those times, let say, by half, the backlash is for Playstation.I have a feeling these today loading tests will be create a big backslash to Xbox when Sony shows their side...

I have my doubts about performance scaling 1:1 as you go above 2.0 ghz in rdna cards, but tbh, I am not convinced that the performance will scale 1:1 with extra CUs as well, and the fact that AMD might not be releasing a 56-60 mid range GPU is leading credence to that theory.
We will see whats going on with RDNA 2.0 soon enough.
Anyway who cold boots their consoles???
So, does that mean the we Europeans get a shot at blowing up the forum (which ever way) before you Americans? I am cool with that![]()

1 TB Xbox One had 780 GB free space.198GB used up. How does that compare to Xbox One?
Those quotes are over a year old.Good. We now have a clear path forward and all the Microsoft's talk about being pro-consumer and exclusives being bad was just BS, like many of us said time and time again.
Sony has yet to clearly discuss how they are handling both Sackboy and other cross-gen titles. Have they updated their blog with any additional info regarding this? And there has been no new trailers for Destruction All stars showing what the gameplay is about. Apparently their twitter is also silent after Sept 17.Hi. Been lurking around in this thread for a while. Sorry if this was already discussed. Does anyone know if PS4 games being shipped with free PS5 upgrades will install the upgrade without asking automatically once the disc is put in a PS5? Reason I am asking is because afaik the PS5 does only support the old PS4 controller when PS4 games are played. So I wonder what happens in this scenario: I plan to buy a game like Sackboy Big adventures for my PS4. This game says it does includes the upgrade to PS5 version. Does that mean that once I use the game on a PS5, and the upgraded version is being installed automatically, I cannot use my old PS4 controllers anymore? This would be bad, as the game does support coop (up to 4 players I believe). And this would mean I would need to buy some additional Dual Sense Controllers to continue playing coop on PS5. Also, are there any differences to the "native" PS5 version?
Pc parts also rumoured to have ps5 clocks....go figure....
Colour me surprised
Please send the links with the videos
Yeah its 100 GB more. Not the end of the world for PS5 buyers, but its great that the Series X has more free space than the One X.That's still a lot more than PS5 will have, probably something like 700GB... maybe less.
thats also very curious. so the ps5 is basically using the same rdna 2.0 card that AMD themselves are pitching to desktop owners.Pc parts also rumoured to have ps5 clocks....go figure....
