Sony and MS keep each other on their toes.

Nintendo just do their own thing. I'm pretty sure they would be fine as a software company, while the other two duke it out.
 
Sony have consistently been the assholes of the industry, and still are, so them. They deserve it based on their leave China alone terms of service garbage.

That being said, as soon as they would leave MS would become worse than Sony's ever been due to no competition, so no one.
 
Any one going out would be bad for games, dor game devs and for gamers.
So I hope all stay healthy.
Said so, if MS could keep making pc games, I would chose them. Cause that is where they are headed already

Whats that got to do with Sony as a publisher putting their games out on PC, Xbox and Switch.
SEGA did the exact same thing.

I'd kill Nintendo because I like online games and they just can't be bothered to do proper online. If they did, I'd stick with them.
 
Sony survives because I've grown out of Mario and Luigi games. Not knocking them but they don't do it for me anymore and haven't for a long time.

Remember this is about just leaving the console hardware space, the publisher would still have all their studios and talent.
It would be a SEGA situation they stop making consoles but still make games.

Arent you curious what ND would do if they knew they had unlimited power?

Why people would get rid of MS makes no sense......the world without MS consoles barely benefits anyone.
Getting rid of Nintendo consoles or Sony consoles brings Nintendo games with more power, on the Sony side it lets their devs stretch their legs by not having arbitrary limits on how extreme they can minspec their games.
 
I'd get rid of all 3 console manufacturers. But if I had to choose one I'd go with Nintendo. Shit tier hardware and online ,draconian policies and terrible pricing is a big no no to me. The good thing is that you can emulate all their games with a decent enough PC. Is their loss.

Probably Nintendo. While I like playing BotW at 60fps on PC, I didn't even finish and I haven't seen anything from Metroid or StarFox in years worth playing.

Xbox is a close second. They have the exclusives but continually fuck them up or don't release them, chasing power that won't even amount to much.

AFAIK OP is about eliminating a console, a console is a platform controlled by a company, if you eliminate XBox they would still have another platform they control, Sony and Nintendo do not and would just be publishers.
 
Even though I don't like how Sony likes to simply lie with a straight face or make people wait too much for games they say are coming Soon™, I'd choose Microsoft just because Sony brings more to the table.

Sony leaves the console manufacturing business right....they still have a ton of studios and a publishing house Yes?
They will publish on another platform whether thats Ninty/Android/iOS/Xbox/PC.

They are only leaving the console manufacturing business not the game publishing.
When Sega stopped making consoles they didnt control any platform anymore.....but their games kept coming out.

The same would be true with MS, Sony and Nintendo if they left the manufacturing of consoles business.
They still own studios they still have publishing houses no reason for them to leave that space.

publishing is only one aspect. the main thing is creating the streamlined easy to use hardware/software platform , Sony and Nintendo are better and both different visions that don't overlap much.

I chose nintendo.

I had a switch and while it was neat I sold it after a few months. I need MS and Sony to battle and keep providing better games and services.
 
Xbox has the least games for me.
Nintendo releases hits. And so does Playstation. Imagine a world without games like Mario, Zelda, Luigi's mansion, Fire Emblem, Bloodborne, Uncharted, Spiderman, Ghosts of Tsushima, Horizon.
Xbox didnt release that many great games this gen compared to the other 2
 
I see the Obvious answer is the one winning, we would lose a whole lot less if MS were to exit the console market as opposed to losing Nintendo or Sony.
 
Nintendo just because the older I've gotten the more I've lost interest in their games.
Zelda BotW was killer though.
 
MS keeps Sony on their toes... You think you would get ps plus collection and full back compat of last gen without them? Competition is good for the consumer... Don't get it twisted. Sony ain't taking a bullet for you. Nintendo just makes bank while these two fight. But even they need competition or we get stuff like age of calamity running at 12fps...
