Making game modes on major third party titles exclusive for an excessive amount of time.

These are behaviors I want to punish, which is why I'll wait a year or so before getting a PS5 hoping something changes between now and then.

I'm torn between Nintendo and Microsoft. I chose Microsoft then tried to change it to Nintendo but couldn't. I just think Microsoft is a good publisher but their consoles have been meh since the original Xbox in my opinion.

- Console wars are a "thing" but they're not real wars and there's nothing wrong with them at all. This is a genuine thread. I realized I could do without 1 of the big 3, but how things play out should 1 be removed is not necessarily obvious.

We need all three. I would also love for Sega to re-enter the market as well. I would buy their console.

Microsoft, the 360 was good from 05 to like 09, they fucked up. The OG Xbox is meh, Xbox 360 was good, Xbone sucks and the series X, seems good but the launch is horrible. They legit got nothing. Also they really started the pay to play online, which did NOT make online better.

The reality is they could stop making consoles tomorrow and absolutely nothing would change under their current business model.

Of the three main ones. Microsoft is the one who really doesn't need to even have a console. They've got Game Pass and Windows, so they can just roll with that and still have a presence in the industry. Sony needs to have PlayStation because SIE is literally the only division keeping them relevant. And Nintendo is like Jobs-era Apple, they design their hardware in tandem with their software, so leaving the console business makes no sense for them.

Nintendo. They always produce the "extra" console after buying the other two and a PC. You get everything else, then pick up a Switch.

We need Nintendo for handhelds, Sony has best big console games. Microsoft would make perfect sense as 3rd party/service provider.

So Microsoft would still be funding the same exclusives for PC, just out of the console market?

Easy, them then, personally it's the same way I'll experience next gen anyways, Microsoft games on PC.

Xbox before GamePass and the Bethesda purchase would have been the no brainer, but after that Sony easily becomes the weakest eco-system. Nintendo will forever be untouchable.

Both Nintendo and Microsoft hold much more beloved and iconic franchises in their stables that would be a much bigger miss then what Sony offers. MS has the more powerful system, unrivaled game service, and an insane 1st party studio stable. This is even remotely close with MS recent investment in gaming.
 
Nintendo easy. They are 2 generations behind in hardware. Still have no online in allot of games or do it wrong like Animal crossing and Mario Party.

Prefer Nintendo to go 3rd party.

Naw, they are fine with making consoles, they just don't want to make games, but realized their mistake on just banking on third party. So now they are going for the Netflix/Gamefly of games.

Not at all to me, I voted Nintendo, but Sony actually makes more sense. Microsoft makes the best consoles/UI/controller, Sony has the game developers, and Nintendo has the handheld.

I'd change my answer to Sony, because the only thing Sony has is game development talent over the competition. Which they could easily just go third party.
