nintendo for me, i grew out of their games long long ago, only ever owned gameboy and gameboy advance and have very little interest in any of their IPs.

Microsoft, easily. They don't have an identity behind their games, most of them feel like trying to chase fleeting trends and nowadays are not even all that interested in consoles themselves, but rather try to establish some subscription based business that would be bad for consoles in the long run.

I honestly feel that if you lose Microsoft in the console business, not much would be lost.

Pains me to say it, but Sony. Nintendo is and always will be Nintendo, and Microsoft do game pass and constantly improve on their bc offerings.

Lets see how long this thread stays open.

Not even an option for none?

We need them all to basically keep each other honest.
Any industry will little to no competition usually turns to shit.

I cant even imagine a hell where the only console choice is between the Switch and the PS5.

There is no real need for an Xbox console, you could just get low/high spec PC and play all MS games.

My god, the shock and awe, I'm just baffled by the pole results on this forum.

Microsoft Innovates, Sony copies, and Nintendo simply makes games.

My first choice would be Sony, Nintendo is a close 2nd.

Microsoft, clearly.

As entertaining the #NoNeedToBeUpset was, barely anything of (gaming) value would be lost.
My only reservation would be for Sony going even more SJW #taliban.

Sony. Bought and muscled its way into the industry. Can't stand anything Playstation related especially its fanboys. Hold them in utter contempt, especially the younger ones who believe videogames didn't exist before the PS2.
None would be my first choice -Sony is my 2nd choice due to the bolded. Don't like their games, their hardware, their stupid controller, the company and most especially their fanboys (I'm not referring to regular Sony fans, just the zealots)

This is bitter, passionate, honest hate right here... built up over many years.

I can see the wisdom by the mods for allowing this thread to stay open. Need a safety valve thread for all that negativity and pent up anger. It's gonna be rough for another year or two for some folks.

If Sony left manufacturing they would still publish on PC, Xbox and Switch like SEGA.

So there would be no real need for a Playstation console, you could just get a low/high spec PC and play all Sony games.

OP is plain evil confirmed. Nintendo and Sony are just better positioned than MS since forever.

It is like offering 3 targets and point to the one you want people to shoot.

I don't play on Xbox but their existence is a must so they can keep Sony in check. Nintendo obviously doing their Nintendo thing and the industry wouldn't be the same without them.

I'd rather all three stick around for the sake of competition and catering to different markets/tastes.

That said if one has to go I'd probably say MS. They don't do much innovative or different from Sony with hardware unlike Nintendo who does their own thing. MS could just go third party or focus on Gamepass and Xcloud on a variety of devices and I wouldn't miss much.

Nothing to do with my level of interest.

Removing competition is a terrible ideal.

In Soviet Russia we have one console. We have four games, enough to keep all comrades happy. In our next 5 year plan we will add an additional game, and only $200 American dollars!

Was just joking about the ban request.

It's not just "removing competition" permanently. The market would obviously react and a new equilibrium would be reached after a while.

not nintendo because they're unique in their console approaches
MS and Sony are really similar
I voted to eject MS for the sole reason because they into the game later than Sony

Amazon or google will eventual buy Sony unless they team up with MS or something in the future.

The premise is you have to choose one, to be eliminated from the console market only.

As in, they're still allowed to make games for the others? Nintendo then, without even a moment of hesitation.

Controversial choice here but - Nintendo.

After the Gamecube, they've really stopped competing hardware wise and it's been all about innotivation or the games themselves. I like having them around but in the console space, I wouldn't miss them. I'd much rather them continue as a AAA game developer and simply release their games on a Sony or Microsoft platform.

Nintendo is very conservative with their hardware and spending so I'd really like to see what they could do when they didn't have to worry about that aspect.

Nintendo never the only truly gaming company.

Sony nope has other bussiness but their gaming division is key for them. The most important plus they diversify on games.

Microsoft gaming division can dessapear and nothing happens plus less innovate games and recently they buy developers instead of develop.

As a mainly PC gamer, I love how MS and Sony are pushing each other. I'll buy a PS5 Pro for the Sony exclusives while playing MS exclusives on my PC.

Meanwhile Nintendo is doing it's own weird jaggy thing which I don't care for.
I tried, but their games are not for me.

Therefore, burn Nintendo.

Nintendo they do not longer make hardware for me.
Low performance, high price...

Bring their games to Xbox/Playstation/PC instead.

I'm saying this as someone who owned/(s);
1. NES, SNES, N64, Gamecube, Wii, Wii U.
2. GameBoy, GameBoy Advance / GBA SP, Nintendo DS.

Xbox and it's not even close.

I say this as an Xbox main for the last two generations.

Nintendo atleast knows what works and can develop great games each gen (even if certain consoles are less than stellar *cough* gamecube and Wii U *cough*) and Sony has quickly risen as my main de facto from even this gen. Regardless if some of their practices are anti-consumer (hesitation on cross-play and whatnot), I'll gladly take God of War over, say, halo 5.

Nintendo is too important to the gaming industry, after the first crash they were the ones that revived it, also their games are fun.
Microsoft will do great with game pass allowing many gemers to play lots of games they can't afford.

So my vote goes to Sony. too many movie games, LGBT, trans, BLM agendas in their games, only censors Japanese games while allowing butt sex and lesbian sex scenes in their Western AAA games etc.

360 was great though. Things could've been different.

The poll options are in alphabetical order FYI. :)

Microsoft. They have the least appealing exclusives nowadays, brought some of the worst things in the industry (paid online, dlc, wanted to force an online only drm, etc...) and now the focus on the services.

I really enjoy the part that WOULD ruin gaming, and not MS who already tried with XO with always online, no used games etc..
Good one
For real man, some people on this Forum are truly something.

Votes should be made public.

I voted Microsoft, but on second thought, I think Sony might be the better choice. They lost their identity over the last generation or two and are just another Microsoft without Windows. At this point, I think I would prefer for Microsoft to consolidate all of the western development scene to their platform so we could get PC versions as well.
Yeah Sony seems to be focused on making western games sadly.

The difference is when Microsoft does something bad we tend to hold them accountable, they paid dearly for those bad ideas even though they reversed them immediately.
See a lot of bad ideas still coming from Sony and, crickets chirping on the lashback.

None
Competition is good. Just see how lazy Sony has been because they have no competition while Microsoft desperately keeps adding value to try to gain some users next gen.

I've been gaming for a long time and Nintendo has never ever registered as more than a kids toy for me. I love to tell people I've never played a Mario or Zelda game. I don't feel like I'm missing out on anything.

The one that started with "pay to play online", that requires gold to play free games online, that wanted to make us pay to borrow our games and that wouldn't make us lose alot of great IPs (unlike Nintendo and Sony).
Microsoft, no doubt.

Can you please name a bad idea that would count so much to eliminate them ?

Arch-PlayStation fans are among the more insufferable wankers out there it's true, but it must be said that Sony's victory with PSone was 100% earned. They had the right hardware at the right price, bent over backwards to offer good deals for publishers, secured killer exclusives, and absolutely went out of their way to reach players globally by establishing unprecedented localisation processes, often out of their own pocket. PSone did everything right.

There's some discussion to be had regarding the ensuing power vacuum, should you choose to participate.

You might think that but in reality this is just another thread that encourages console wars, at a time when we're all supposed to be excited for new hardware. You disappoint me.
