To further clarify what I mean on the uniqueness of Cyberpunk outrage: Imagine if a user during the release of Persona 5 Royal implied that anyone who was giddy or supported Persona was homophobic/transophobic. Or demanded that all discussion on it was banned. And they repeatedly posted off-topic posts about it in other threads. As many right now are doing for Cyberpunk.
Those posters would've been banned for harassment of other users and trolling. But now it's different for Cyberpunk. Why?
Personna 5 had a subplot of a gay couple sexually harassing a underage boy and playing it off as a joke. And in another Atlus game, Catherine Full Body, the trans woman character opts to stay as a dude in the happy ending. Oh and the male protagonists reacts with horror/disgust when she shows him her genitals.
That sure as hell sounds worse than CDPR's one admittedly lame ass tweet, and one iffy in-game poster. Sure they could have done better on the voice-pronouns thing, but CDPR is at least giving an effort to improve on LGBT issues. Like I don't doubt they will release a patch to fix the pronoun issue. Atlus has done no such thing. Hell Japanese Atlus wouldn't even let American Atlus fix/remove the gay sex predator subplot.
Yet one could end up being banned on Era and the other gets a pass. Not to mention other problematic franchises like Fire Emblem with its pedo/loli dragon girl and Xenoblade with its hentai looking designs.
If going forward, any game with problematic elements is soooo bad, that it has to be banned and users shammed for being fans of it, then that must apply to all games with problematic elements.
Otherwise it appears like a lot of this outrage is only a shield to bash games/devs/companies certrain posters already dislike or had no interest in. It's nothing but self-gloating, users bragging about how woke they are (without making much of a personal sacrifice), and slapping down Era users who they feel don't share their same level of passion.
I do wonder if Cyberpounk/Harry Potter talk is banned, if some users will try to do this with other big franchises too?

Can you imagine investing time in a place( and they make money from that ) where you have to thread on eggshells and probably get a ban anyway, and really noone wants you there but you only realise that when you get a ban for wrongthink.

I only knew resetera by its terrible reputation until recently but this is one of the crazier things I've seen online. They acknowledge that noone outside of their madhouse cares about this at all but also seem shocked that their stickied thread hasn't shaken the industry to its core. The decision to lock threads is not only stupid as hell but shows that the staff aren't willing to put their money where their mouth is and ban discussion of the game from the site entirely. Too much lost ad revenue. The previews of the game seem very positive so it looks like things will be pretty hilarious on RE when it finally comes out and is a highly rated game that sells a ton.

I mean Ive already seen that there I think. They say that is a 'rare' occurrence that someone looks like that. Even with character designs, now I know the infamous trope with some female designs, but I mean of they make a female character look above average they critisize it and say its overly sexualized, when there happens to be more than enough women like that in society already.

Plus how many of those 350 are literally just on the basis of them being trans? They love to lump deaths into an all encompassing field but some have just been they got in an argument with someone it escalated and someone died. It wasn't some premeditated murder because the person was trans and they wanted to eradicate any trans person for their very existence. 350 deaths might be one of the least targeted groups in the entire world.
