Returnal - Combat | PS5

Looks pretty good. I like that there does appear to be some melee option. Sony also seems to be putting some effort into marketing this.

Looks good! Nice graphics and the gameplay seems arcadey and fun.

My only gripe is the same I had with Prodeus: too much particles in your face that might not allow you to see what or where are you shooting. But I'm nitpicking.

This reminds me of a massively updated Crimson Sea (xbox) / Crimson Sea 2 (PS2)

Pretty good AA game at the time.

Not a fan of the visuals. Every gun seems to go overly sci-fi on the effects. Let me just have a shotgun to blow these aliens into gibs or a heavy LMG to lay down fire, not sparkle up the entire screen with special effects.

EDF 7 ?

So many threads about such an average looking game.

Would love to be surprised but seems like its being over hyped because its an exclusive to one console.
I think it's got people talking because of the history of the studio and their gameplay first approach.

It looks really bland and repetitive to me. I will wait for the reviews on this one. Right now it looks like a skip. The $70 price tag kind of takes some of these games out of impulse buy range.

This 3rd person shooting with the hitmarkers and damage numbers... I don't know, it's just too much and so distracting.

gameplay like that doesn't excite me at all anymore

This looks right up my street. Love Housemarque and the rinse, repeat gameplay will be great. Price might be a sticking factor thought.

So many drops below 30 fps... Don't they have PCs to record footage with?

At $70 this is DOA. Will be more appreciated when it goes to $10.

So many people shitting on this when HM regularly makes some of the best controlling games (great visuals and audio too) out there.
No wonder we have many games that try to be movies and control like garbage.

For that much action, i find the camera to be too fucking close and static, weird design. Can't see the purpose of putting the camera that close when aiming, it looks jankier than it should.

Combat looks fun it's the main character that puts me off. And the environments look kinda bland.

Check at 1:24. That looks close to you?

I like Housemarque but I feel they needed to have more enemies on screen and shit flying around like Nex Machina. To me it seems that they wanted to recreate Nex Machina in TP but this just looks kinda janky and slow. Also that engine optimization isn't helping them at all.

I love the concept and aesthetic of the game. Gameplay looks really cool too but they need to fix the framerate... it's kind of all over the place

My thoughts exactly. Looks like an early gen filler.

The whole video looked repetitive and bland.
Idk I was hyped for this game but the more I see the more it looks like it's going to bomb now... Looks very repetitive and blend.
Thats just how roguelikes (or roguelite or whatever) usually play.
Returnal seems very similar to Risk of Rain 2, but that game is much cheaper and focused on the core experience for its niche.

Personally, i think making a title based on this gameplay loop costing $70 is pretty risky.

Hope retail version or day one patch to smooth the framerate.

But it is really good, a big step for Housemarque.

Well I guess on release FPS will be fixed or maybe is the video. Combat feels dynamic just hope the camera is not an issue.

Hope it has exploration because if the game is just a shooter that tells you to go from A to B on a linear path will wait to get it on PSplus.

If the game has good lore, combat, ambient/art style could be the new Dead Space. Cosmic survival horror needs a game these days.

Not sure about you guys, but the more I see it the more my hype drops. Looks repetitive and the art design is a mixed bag. Hopefully Im wrong and it's not $70

I like the creepy vibe, enemy design is awesome. Might be great.

Don't worry about framerate in places. Housemarque always deliver.

Score attack/bullet hell games dont usually sell a ton ton.

I know itll be a good game just wont be the megaton some people would hope it would be.

Im hoping Housemarque and Sony werent expecting this to sell a shit ton else everyone will leave disappointed.
Lower budget no retail release PS+ title.....you got me sold.

70 dollars.....nah I aint buying that.

P.S Im sure Ill get hate but I didnt think it was possible to make such a bland protagonist to go with what looks to be an amazing game.
Its unlikely we get a PC build till 2022+ but once we get that, character swap is the first mod I install.

Dial back the inflammatory console war rhetoric and bait.

WHAT DO YOU MEAN?? These are the EXCLSUIVES of the PS5! These have to be WORSHIPED no MATTER WHAT these are the GAMES that NOBODY ELSE has!

Just like Godfall this looks like another pile of wasted money for paying for exclusivity.
