Just vote your wallet. I bought almost all the next gen games at the $60 MSRP. (Hitman 3, Valhalla, Cyberpunk)
I didn't touch COD or Demon Souls.

I'm OK with $70 because I generally buy 1 or 2 new games a year. Sucks for people who want to play every release though. I don't mind paying more for a product that I'm heavily invested in fan wise and want to see succeed financially for a company.

I MIGHT... and I stress MIGHT... do one at full price once a year. 89 CDN. I can see myself going for Horizon or GT7 at that price. Everything else is going to be on sale. Sorry, Sony.

I would easily pay 100 bucks for a game like TLoU2 or God of War, no regrets. But I hate to pay good money for mediocre games, hence I often wait for deals.

Now that our hobby is about to get more expensive, will you all go along?

Personally, I rarely if ever paid $60 for a game - I almost always wait for a sale. So, $70? Nah.

Since i started buying games only in sales it is somehow way more enjoyable :)

Everytime i look into sales and i see that i can literally buy 3 games i love to play instead of just one its crazy.

I even picked up Sinking City now for like 15 Euro. Cant imagine paying 70 Euro for it, it was just not worth full price :)

At £70 i really felt uneasy. I really felt i spent too much. Im used to £55 for new games.

Its a significant amount at £70 and is gonna take it being really special for me to continue buying at that price.

Well... i'll aways wait the game hit the price that is fair for it. And there is only one game that to me justify $60 and that was Ghost of Tsushima in the last 5 years.

$70? Unless they relese some game like Chrno Trigger/Cross, i'm off. $30 to $50? There is some games that this price is justified.

Wait 2 weeks after release they are 1/2 price and will be patched. Actually wait until 6-12 months and you will actually get it for less than $30 and will be the full game, or as close as it will ever be.

Not only am I not going to pay $70, I am going to wait for the drop to $45 before I purchase . I am even going to go out of my way to buy used Physical. I am charging them a waiting fee...

I Pre-ordered/day one for the PS4 but if they want to be greedy fine, I'll just wait and they will make less or no money from me ( buy used) then I would have paid them. If I need to wait a little longer for the experience , that's fine....

I'm with ya. it's gamepass and sales all the way. (price is $89.99 CDN+ 15% tax here)

I rarely pay $60 for a game nowadays. Going $70 means I need to wait a bit longer to get it at $20-30. Gamepass eased the pain of the wait for me.

Very few games I absolutely need at launch, so for those few I'll pay the premium.

The rest I can wait for sales. I'm still waiting on a decent sale for Sekiro.

There are very few games last gen I even paid 60 for. Those were the must have at release games but maybe one a year. If you just wait it seems like they drop in price so fast. And to be honest with ps+ etc there is just always so many games to play/catch up on anyway.

I did pay 70 for demons souls but the sheer hours I put into that was worth it.

Am I going to pay 70 for ratchet? Probably but I know that game is just a one and done but it's a system showcase so i'm just gonna say fuck it.

The only game I paid full retail for last year was THPS1+2 and that I think was $39.99. Gamepass + sales and I'm good. Before that? Idk Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze I know I paid full retail for and some other switch games... but y'know those 1st part Nintendo titles don't go down in price too quick so I thought it was ok.

I bought the Spiderman combo at 70$ and that was kind of painful but I needed to play something on my PS5 and I love insomniac. But I'm likely to really be cautious with my purchases and rely on Gamepass for most of my console gaming. 70$ will buy God of War and maybe Ratchet if the reviews blow it out of the water. Otherwise, I will be waiting for the sales for Horizon, Returnal, etc.

Prices are too high. They are missing out on sales due to greed. I personally think they would sell more games and make more money overall if they made games $40-$50 from day one, and keep them there for a year. If demon souls, nba 2k21, and call of duty and more were that price I would have ready bought them.

Now I just don't care ........will wait till.they are $20, or on Ps plus or gamepass ultimate. They lose out on that initial excitement and advertising money spent.

A big reason why I'm not even trying to get a next gen console now is that I won't be paying $70 for a game, or $50 for a cut down game like Spider-Man Miles Morales. My backlog is too big to have time for that. Only a few games like Horizon 2 have the possibility to break that rule. Even then only after reviews say it is as good as I hope.

lol always the same argument "what are you poor?" "Its only 15 bucks, i wipe my ass with 15 bucks lol"

Only personal attacks, no discussion of anything
He doesn't look like a healthy person from the photo, so he doesn't seem to spend much on what he eats, so he is also poor?! , I don't understand these people logic.

$70, or wait a year and buy the game with all the DLC included for $30...

Actually I feel like paying $60 for a game is too much, especially during the last-gen when the game industry has become creatively bankrupt. even AAA games have become so boring, repetitive and full of MTX.

So no, I won't pay an extra $10 for such things.

Someone in another thread commented that he's actually kind of grateful to the scalpers for keeping the next gen consoles out of his hands right now, due to the day one prices of the games being so high. I'm inclined to agree. Plenty of the games I'm interested in are £70 here in the UK, so I'm good to wait a few more months.

No problem, if it's a meaty game that I'm really interested in (for example, Demon's Souls) definitely. Also, I always but physical so if I don't like the game I can sell it for almost full price on an online auction.

You are a part of the problem. Why not just sent your monthly salary to Sony and they decide how much pocket change you deserve and then they compensate in games from how much you paid?

Were you for or against xbox live price hike? Why/why not?

An extra 10 bucks is ok since I only buy big releases. I have Steam sales, Game Pass, etc for everything else.

I would expect games to become as expensive as well on steam.

Microsoft already casually did it with flight Simulator and gears 5, and if it succeeds on console then they'd probably start with it on pc.
Or maybe not. PC is a free market where you can buy shady cheap keys, which people gladly does to save a few bucks, so maybe they won't because they can't force the price since there's alternatives for key acquisitions

You misunderstood me. I'm against a price hike, especially arbitrary and unnecessary ones like Xbox live. What I'm saying is that I have no problem in paying good money (100 bucks) for exceptional games, but hate it to spent 40-60 bucks for trash like Godfall or the Medium.
Since taste is subjective it's a mute point, I know. But in general the price is not the problem, but the content we receive for the money.

Not every aaa games created equal, creativity has been missing on fps games for a while , like bioshock Infinite , portal , a genuine battlefield game , " " Halo game , " " killzone game , " " half life game , resistance , a genuine call of duty game , Duke Nukem, medal of Honor, a genuine borderlands 2 sequel that we deserve, 007 , quake , max payne , black , d g a f about modern fps games reviews, they stand no chance against what I just listed, the industry have been profitable which something been missing historically and yet we get all this c .

I think $70 is fine. I won't pay that.. but I'm ok with impatient gamers subsidizing my $30 sale prices. It's how everything in tech works now, the corporations take advantage of people who make very poor financial decisions and have zero self control.. and then the patient people get things for a freaking steal.

I can't keep up with these cheap ps4 games now.. some gamers think they're gods champion because they bought a ps5, and here I am thinking I won the lottery because I bought a great game for $8. Then they whine about how their life sucks and there's nothing to play. Ya gotta step back and have some perspective on these things.
