Just played Forza Horizon 4 maxed out at 4k on a 3080

That's exactly it. It bombed because people couldn't turn on the apex correctly, was too hard subjectively, played the original launch version then dumped it, didn't play the DLC, le netcode bro and of course the usual 30 FPS, low texture and 1080P arguments. Those who actually played the game know how much of a bliss the game actually is.

Atleast try to put in effort to back up your point.
Boot up DC and capture some screenshots when its not raining.

Looks don't matter nearly as much as feel, especially in racing games. Gamers collectively need to move past graphical fidelity as a benchmark for what's best - frames matter so much more.
 
So I'm about to delete Horizon 4 since its inferior to Driveclub

you guys said Forza 5 looks better and that I should check that one out right?

why do people bring this up every time? Drive Club is an arcade racing game with extremely limited tracks. it also has a super simple driving/physics model that operates most likely at either 30hz or 60hz at most, this alone saves so much CPU cycles that can be used for draw calls etc. now add the fact that it is 100% linear and you can see how in Driveclub the developers can control what is rendered on screen at any given time to a way higher degree than an open world Forza can.

Horizon 4's physics model runs at above 300hz (I can't find the exact number... try googling that, it's impossible) and it is open world with random traffic and other players roaming the world.

Driveclub looks as good as it does for the same reason The Order 1886 looks as good as it does. it's extremely simple in terms of game logic and extremely linear. So can we stop bringing up that game every time? it has the driving mechanics complexity of Ridge Racer and is not comparable to a sim, even a slightly more arcadey one like Horizon 4

Not only that, it legitimately got the studio shutdown, then they got bought by codemasters where they released another flop Onrush before getting canned again.

The game was hot garbage when it released, that's what I remember it for.


And I've never even played Forza lol, mainly do F1 games nowadays.

No wonder DC showed off visuals with grey skies and rain. In every pic you posted, look 2ft off the track and thats got to be the most plain looking dirt, rocks, cliffs I've seen in a recent driving game. The car shadows dont even look right.

It's like they put all the effort into the car and immediate road detail (at only 30 fps) and hope weather effects cover up the rest of the view.

It can look decent when all the good things come together but really, to say that it looks better than Forza Horizon 4 maxed out on pc is just comical. And i like Driveclub, i still play it monthly.
 
While driveclub is the greatest racing game I've seen with my own two eyes

I will admit that Driveclub VR looks absolutely terrible

My PSVR folks, stick to Wipeout HD Collection, it looks 1000 times better than DC VR

OP got great eyes. Some slander going on in this thread about Driveclub as a game. That will not be tolerated by you low level scum who only drove around the track twice in a BAC Mono(because you're a scrub/noob) and all of a sudden you know everything about Driveclub. Edit: Seeing the other screenshot.... FH4 is much better. Its only the rainy gifs that seem impressive.

I've made the point that Driveclub weather is much better than FH4 but overall Horizon is better looking and a better game. I love both games and I'm looking forward to the new effects in FH5.
