If Bjorn can prove that Cerium misled him about the size & standing of the community there may be hope. Plenty of users in the thread on Era are already pointing out the timing of the sale with the sub-communities departing is pretty suspicious.

That is classic era. EVERYONE there loves to be outraged. They thrive on it. They are perpetually angry. Professionally Outraged. I have never seen a more angrier group of people. Always ready to pounce on one another.

I have been posting on forums for over 21 years. I have never seen mods get paid for their work. It's almost always a volunteer job.

And them being mad at cirium? He had 100% ownership of the website. Everyone knew this going in. The mods, the admins, the users. Why cant he sell it? Whats the commie mentality that he cant sell something he owns or profit off of it?

The ONLY one who has any right being outraged is Evillore. This motherfucker stole Evillore's userbase and then made off like a bandit. No one else has any right to be outraged about this. Whatsapp sold their platform to Facebook for $20 billion. Other than finding it hilarious how Facebook overpaid for it, I didnt care despite being a regular user. These people jerk off to studio acquisitions but are outraged over this?
 
I think I was too optimistic in my thought that Era as we know it has 6 months tops. I have a feeling it's done after the weekend. The users will split off into the many differing sub-community spin-offs. A think a few here and there might try to pool everyone back together but it will ultimately be fruitless as no one will trust the new sites.

I predicted this too, but gave it less than 24 hours. It pays to be a pessimist. Doubly so when the community is primarily composed of grifters, zealots, and loons.

And after seeing how she lives, probably in a gated HOA'ed community with 24 guards here in the South, it's always these types that will call the popo fosho first when they feel the slightest bit of danger. That sure isn't hood rich with that mantle, marble and designer floors.

It's always the one's that don't have to return to the bad parts of town at night. This has been repeated TIME and TIME AGAIN through history by these slacktivist rEvOlUtIoNaRiEs.

This deal is just like WhatsApp. FB bought it for user data to monetize and now this company is going to sell user data from Era.

Nah, Evilore should consider himself lucky. Given Cerium's ability to see opportunities to make money I'm surprised he didn't send Evilore a bill for his cleaning services.(You know, cleaning all the sludge out of NeoGaf and moving it to resetera.)

I don't even think this news has hit like 80% of the users yet. All they did to announce this was put a little News thing at the top which most people X out of without even clicking.

Wait til MOBA NETWORKS integrates that footer at the bottom with links to all the other garbage forums for people to start poking around and we're going to get a truck load of topics in Gaming and OT of people losing their shit and ban requests.

I just wanted to say I feel avenged by Cerium for selling the site to a corp after the mods permabanned a lot of people over petty reasons. They got screwed. 🤣

There is a difference
Cerium got paid way higher, and paid of Evilore who originally built the community.

Anywyas this definitely shows shit like GAF Gold and Era Clear and people who pay for that shit are too stupid. The profits alone from ads is enough you giving extra money for the greatness of the community is hilarious
