Gaf to me is the best gaming forum

I like Gaf alot, I feel like over here gamers can be gamers without caring about politics and peoples opinions on shit which who fucking cares. I hate the culture the gaming media and media ass kissing forums have created.
 
The downvote system is the worst invention in forum history, it's trash and only leads to toxicity, thank god the people who run this site understand that.
 
The freedom to have emotions and unpopular opinion is important. I'm sure I may not align with many people here thought wise but I never feel like I'll be banned for saying the wrong thing. For the most part, no where is perfect but theres a good balance between catered and free...while people on {REDACTED} may see eye to eye with me politically, I feel if I veered even slightly I was getting a million and a half warnings...I do appreciate this place.

I like the format too and that people can reply how they see fit - an image, a paragraph, a single sentence or word - it's all good. I was on a site once where comments had to be "quality" and it was really detrimental for participation in discussions.
 
I call the Codex home, but I like popping in here as well. I know, rough neighborhood, but it was somehow one of the first few homes I found where I saw ppl who cared about RPGs as deeply as I did as a youngster.

Reddit is great for porn and finding like minded opinions. An actual discussion is pretty pointless since if your opinion is a minority it will be downvoted especially if it isn't a general sub.

Bro is it just me or is Sonic Hedgehog the most popular topic on /v/? Every time I browse there is at least 1 new Sonic thread. I'm not criticizing, because I do like Sonic. I just wanted to know if you noticed this
 
Great forum. Dont forget to check out the OT tab where many of us talk non-gaming stuff.

GAF has been much better the past few years as fan warriors get permabanned. The Series X/PS5 era has been the apocalypse to warriors.
 
GameFAQS is a rather wild and sometimes very toxic place.
I played the game and matched the energy.
But good god, that place is mentally draining.

A bit more enjoyable here.
 
I was on Gametrailers since 2007 until it closed. Now Neogaf is my preferred gaming forum.

This place is the polar opposite of a certain SJW cancel culture forum, I feel like I can breath here and not take everything so seriously.

There's some awesome lols to be had here everyday and political posts banned is the best thing ever.

GAF is a lenient forum where you have to be a complete fuck up to get perma banned.

Oh and this board tends to have more threads regarding games I like where good discussions can take place!!!!
 
My first account was banned a long time ago, in the dark ages, cause some one posted a thread named something like "do you play games that don't have representation?" Clearly a shitty virtue signaling thread. I joked that "yeah, I play rocket league, despite the concerning lack of other automotive representation, like bike and tractors" or something like. I was banned with a soyfull message.
"This is not the place or the time for this type of comment, banned for life".

So yeah, I like it very much now, I'm always about the videogames, having fun and respect fellow gamers.

This is a hobby for crying out loud. Yeah, I consider it art, but art has to have a vision, not just pander.
Also, not all games are art, some are sports, some are informative, some are just fun. It's a great medium and people want to hijack it for their weird politics, get outta here!

I've been here since 2009 and I was banned once for "misoginy".

The split was the best thing to ever happen to this forum.
