Alanah Pearce: XBOX + SAMSUNG APP: I played it early! [impressions & interview]

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?

TL;DR

Despite seeing pixelation in some places, she found it very impressive and noticed no perceptible lag when playing Halo: Infinite.

we should try to be more respectful, its free and make us better persons. just saying.
I dont wanna fuck her and I dont wanna listen to her.
Duality of man, man.

Ah, the classic "some artifacting" and "no perceptible lag" when it comes to streaming services.
Honestly I don't have much hope for those kind of services, at least in the near future.

Tried setting up Moonlight on my Switch to use it to play PC games and, while it was playable, I could notice the artifacts for sure, not just a little bit.

I think it's cool for slower games, but faster ones would suffer a lot, specially if there are lots of camera movement.

She looks nothing like Alanah Pearce

interesting, the samsung guy on the interview said that is possible to use a playstation controller for xcloud.

Can't stand her but sounds neat. Is the Xbox controller compatible with the TVs? If yes, is that only for games or can you control the TV with the Xbox controller as well?

I get the convenience that streaming offers regardless of who is offering it but why are you all excited for it? LOL
Stop that.

Yes, it is possible to play games using a streaming service (why do people keeping acting surprised) and they are investing money into it to keep making it better. I still think we shouldn't be getting excited or asking for it though.

I would be very surprised if the Xbox controller didn't work when using it with their streaming app so I would say yes. As for TV control, that depends on Samsung. Simply being bluetooth compatible isn't going to guarantee that. I do think it will most likely work for both purposes though.

If next gen is anything like this one I will probably just stream from my xsx for the first few years.

The only way streaming games is going to gain any user/market share, it's with free to play games and a controller included with the TV purchase.

It's exactly like YouTube video streaming : shit audio and image quality, but heck, at least I didn't 'pay' for it.

If Fortnite is playable directly on the TV from the get go, I can see some people playing a bit that way.

I can't see anyone paying money to have such shit experience though.

Tbh streaming onto my series X is really smooth, just very noticeable lower resolution, wonder how it will be on the TV.

Input latency is surprisingly good too.

Edit: wouldn't it make more sense to do a mega thread assuming numerous YouTubers got to try this early?

YouTube on the Apple TV 4K supports 4K HDR video at 60fps.

You talking about streaming a movie? Movies are a passive medium and can be buffered on the user's end.

Not the same thing as games. Watch any 'regular' YouTube video and you'll notice all the artifacting. That's exactly what it looks like when you stream a game.

Yeah i dont take such folks serious when they claim no input lag etc..

This recent streaming push by Xbox gets a bit annoying, i hope they dont lose focus again..
*shudder* kinect *shudder*

Don't they live in the US's high-speed-internet capitol of the world? My experience with XCloud is 💩

I won't believe the hype until they come to my house and play on my TV.

I wouldn't know. I don't watch random YouTube channels. But it was just a question, no need to be upset.
Who's upset? I don't know what she talks about on her channel. I don't watch it. I honestly doubt that shes a completely independent content creator without sponsors.

The US has far from the best internet infrastructure in the world. Then I haven't even talked about their electricity network, which is bad.

4K HDR 60fps (looks amazing on a big TV). Not a movie.

I think I've already covered this before but a video having data streamed into a player for video playback is how Video playback works.
Game streaming is more like a live stream with interaction & none of those companies have been capable of streaming anything live with quality suitable for even a high quality 720p video from 2005.
This is apple's and oranges
As for YouTube quality, it can look good but until you actually see what the original video looked like being played natively you're not gonna know any better.

Nooo way she felt no lag, even when i'm streaming from my xbx series x to another room in my house via LAN i can feel the lag.

regardless great option for slower paced games.
