Russia begins Invasion of Ukraine

Wonder what Boris Johnson resignation means for Ukraine...
It's probably not a good thing hard to quantify the impact. If you were Putin you'd want infighting among your adversaries. Distract the populace on domestic politics and makes them forget about the war.

I guess Johnson became some kind of symbol of European leaders supporting Ukraine, but it's not going to change much. A prime minister usually can't do fuck all without political support. The new leader will be from the same party, and from what I understand there's a majority support in the house of commons (? don't know much about the uk politics system) for the Ukraine effort anyway?

The UK are going to back Ukraine no matter what. It's pretty much in the hands of the armed forces now.

So it's not going to make any difference. Corbyn isn't even allowed to be in Labour anymore.

And I'll leave that there as we're in forbidden territory.

Nothing. Less than nothing.

Our response to Ukraine would have been exactly the same whoever was PM, or whichever of the main two parties was in power. Don't let his bullshit fool you. Ben Wallace has been primarily responsible for the action we've taken, and even Liz Truss hasn't done too bad a job. Johnson was a figurehead who got on well with Zelensky. Nothing more.

Anybody having problems loading page 330 of this thread? Strange, nothing wrong with this page or any other thread.

Yeah I'm sure that vermin comrade corbyn would've been just as supportive of Ukraine... :lollipop_expressionless:

You mean the fucking idiot that hasn't been Labour leader for three years and got chucked out of the parliamentary party two years ago?

Completely agree.

...you're right about page 330. It's fucked.

He's done mate. Not even in the Labour Party anymore.

It's because of other issues than Ukraine, but his involvement in Stop the War and comments on Ukraine would likely mean he won't be remadmitted if he didn't go back on them.

Larry, the chief mouser of downing street, has outlived boris johnson.

Amazing.
But Boris needed to go at least 1,5 years ago .. to bad the people didn't saw it as soon as I did 🤣 he is a total clown and wrecked the UK, and now tried to rebuild his reputation with all his Ukraine support.. 🤡

The US needs to send 30 more, ASAP. You can be sure Russia will be targeting them.

Also, hope the Ukrainian operators are passing on the training to even more and more troops. So there's a decent sized group of trained personnel.

The U.S. just announced another $400 million aid package that includes 4 more

So Ukraine will soon have 13 total in service. The UK and Germany are also sending a few, though I have no idea when those are expected to arrive.

But yeah, they still need a lot more. I remember this retired general on Fox News mentioning that the U.S. was at one point using between 80-90 of these during the height of the Gulf War and they were extremely effective. I think Ukraine can really put the hurt on the Russians if they can end up getting at least 30-40 by the end of the year with sufficient ammo.

Russia, Wagner and DNR recruiting prisoners to fight in Ukraine

And some one said that grinding Russia in attrition would not work...

Do they get their freedom if they fight or something?

"Wagner is also reportedly recruiting prisoners. They are reportedly offered amnesty, 6 month contracts of 200k rubles a month, and 5 million ruble compensation to their families if they are killed. 3/"

Kazakhstan has really been giving Putin and Russia the finger recently. I wouldn't be surprised if we started seeing more countries in that region who have always had close ties with Russia also start to pull away.

Not surprising. Russia has questioned Kazakhstan's statehood before. Seeing what is happening in Ukraine I imagine they might be worried.

It's not looking so hot for Russia now. It looks like Luhansk might end being their last desperate offensive. Ukraine are pushing in other fronts so Russia will need to reinforce them.

Who knows, though, they might think they can get Ukraine to agree a truce if they push further in the east before they lose toouch in the south amd north-east.

But of course there's still much of Ukraine free and if the Ukrainians smell blood, especially with their increasing numbers of Western heavy weapons, they will simply continue to give up some territory to push the weaker parts of the Russian line.

Also, Germany's aid eventually is helping. Better late than never.

Russia in a nutshell 😅 all portraits of Russia in movies seemed real .. specifically in the 80s .. wtf

Stick to talking about Ukraine.

..because you clearly know fuck all about the UK and its internal politics.

Yest there are...Fucking Russian Pigs.

Russia tried to spin some BS story recently about how Kharkiv residents are ready to join Russia. Yeah, im sure they're eager to become apart of the country that's been destroying their homes and families every day for the past 5 months. Most Pro Russia sentiment in that region has undoubtedly disappeared by now.

Seems that Japan might have secretly dropped some military aid on Ukraine

Makes you think what other countries have delivered weapons/equipment without saying anything

From what I know, Brazil provided more than 300,000 rounds of 35 mm for the Gepard AA tanks that Germany donated. Since Switzerland, the main German supplier, vetoed their ammo on the business.

It's more common than you think,I believe.
