And speaks on behalf of them (or not) apparently. He's not a regulator, but does work for a regulatory body.
Because there are some people whose identities are tied closely to the things they purchase. Some of them also love to feel like victims and wear it like a badge of honor. Why are people thinking everyone is against MS?
This is a freaking trillion dollar company, who spent $68b to purchase, one of the biggest publisher in the gaming world. And the worth of that publisher is even bigger than a freaking nintendo.
Activision basically have WoW, COD, and Overwatch series. A 3 big games, which have a big influence.
Regulators are within their rights to critize this deal.
Consumers should not defend this company. They dont care about you. Xbox one e3 should have showed their true intention.
Well yeah, so would the cleaner if he'd posted something about it. Doesn't have any bearing on the actual investigation though. And speaks on behalf of them (or not) apparently.
I mean "The Commission is working to ensure that you will still be able to play Call of Duty on other consoles (including my Playstation)." has a clear but much different meaning if he does not belong to the actual commission that is regulating. He is making a general statement about the commission's work rather than saying that he is personally working on it. English is a funny language in that way and this is a common complaint about twitter not having enough characters that statements are often taken out of context. And speaks on behalf of them (or not) apparently.
It's a notable comment from a regulator on the thread topic. Hence the discussion.
He's not a regulator, but does work for a regulatory body.

Yes indeed. His response implied a thumb is already on the scale against the deal without a fair and proper assessment of the deal's competitive merits. This might actually be one of the commission's most high-profile scandals in history with respect to a major deal. Yikes.
Xbox fanboys on Twitter associate and follow each other all the time and you think it's weird that people know them? You guys get really defensive whenever someone calls them out. What's weird is someone who doesn't really care for Xbox knows all the personalities on Twitter. Why would you even care?
He's not a regulator, but does work for a regulatory body.
Ricardo Cardoso vs the Xbox twitterati;Yep.
Even if he's not directly involved, him making that tweet has stirred up a Twitter shitstorm on all fronts, with him working for a major regulatory body and such.
More gifs plz !
I'm not sure that works here since his tweet referenced the work that the commission that he's a part of is doing. Just because he says his views are his own doesn't mean that he may not be allowing his personal views to influence his professional behavior.<<<<<<<![]()
Just like so many other twitter accounts. But this one guy said the "P word" and you've got a frenzy on your hands. Never change, warriors.
Microsoft struck gold with this dude lmaothis is going to get so muddy in the public opinion that it's going to seem like they're biased at this point. He should have never made that tweet especially since he doesn't even have jurisdiction over the deal he just tainted those people now too. Microsoft's lawyers are happy about this.
Yep.

MS owning ABK is not in the best interest of the broader market. I hope this deal is blocked. If you'd have told me 2 years ago that there would come a time when fanboys were trying to paint the UK and EU as corrupt Sony fanboys I would have laughed you out of the room. But sadly, here we are. This is clown world now. It's weird to see the reaction here, because this is really the obvious tone that has been taken from the start. These EU/UK regulators seem oddly preoccupied with protecting Sony's best interests above the broader market.
If you are not with me, you are against me mentality.Would love to know why some people are so offended at the thought of regulators who are supposed to protect consumers being out there trying to protect them.

It will be Tencent, Facebook, Amazon, Google or Apple.I hope this deal is blocked.
His disclaimer means jack shit legally.I'm not sure that works here since his tweet referenced the work that the commission that he's a part of is doing. Just because he says his views are his own doesn't mean that he may not be allowing his personal views to influence his professional behavior.
The tweet was a poor decision regardless.
It isn't fanboys. Several attorneys and legal experts have questioned the statements released with almost unanimous opinions. Their behavior and the level of protectionism they have shown for a specific vendor/supplier is highly unusual. This is not the norm no matter how fanboys want to spin it.
Aside from Hoeg Law, who tweets like a 15 year old, who else?It isn't fanboys. Several attorneys and legal experts have questioned the statements released with almost unanimous opinions.
I've read through the entire CMA report in full, I thought it was perfectly balanced and talked about the market in broad terms with great insight. Their is no behaviour or unusual protectionism.Their behavior and the level of protectionism they have shown for a specific vendor/supplier is highly unusual. This is not the norm no matter how fanboys want to spin it.
Would love to know why some people are so offended at the thought of regulators who are supposed to protect consumers being out there trying to protect them. Isn't PlayStation COD's biggest userbase?
Lmao as if European regulators would care about console fanboys opinions.
Also pretty weird when it looks like a member of a regulatory agency is showing a clear bias yet Twitter personalities are the issue not the apparent conflict of interest. Incredibly weird indeed.Indeed. Very weird for someone who posts on a gaming forum to know some of the most prolific gaming personalities. Very weird indeed
You mean several like Hoeg's law?
Several newspapers have covered the reports that have released with big question marks here in the states. LOL Google is your friend.
Ah yes, newspapers, el oh el
Many that feature the opinions of prestigious lawyers and professors in the field, yes.
Like I said, Google is your friend. Just do date based search from around the time the initial CMA statements released.
Don't worry, it was a rhetorical question. I wasn't expecting you to actually provide any sources.
What?!Would love to know why some people are so offended at the thought of regulators who are supposed to protect consumers being out there trying to protect them. Isn't PlayStation COD's biggest userbase?

Good, because I'm not your personal research team. LOL
so just hoeg law then. got it.Several newspapers have covered the reports that have released with big question marks here in the states. LOL Google is your friend.
again, not sure how this is a 'gatcha' - for example the CMA's official position is that they are concerned games will be taken off other platforms. that's not bias, it's their position as part of this review. Also pretty weird when it looks like a member of a regulatory agency is showing a clear bias yet Twitter personalities are the issue not the apparent conflict of interest. Incredibly weird indeed.

And as usual I was right.
I did a little searching and found out we're on the first page of results. Gaf is movin' on up.
Make a claim, can't back it up, act like a clown. At least the CMA published a 70 page document backing up their position, you can't even copy and paste something (because it doesn't exist).Good, because I'm not your personal research team. LOL
What?!
I'm sure their protection doesn't extend to entrenched Sony consumers from self-masochism by refusing to buy an Xbox and an imaginary entitlement.
How about protecting healthy competition and consumer value interests.
holy shit... seeing this for the first time...what are they even doing..lol
Where do you think the PlayStation came from?Paying off Jimmy's visit to Brussels![]()
It might be competitive, but certainly healthy doesn't describe a dominant player leveraging position to secure exclusivity deals and suffocate competition.Healthy competition lol the market IS competitive! Or healthy competition for you means he who can buy the market should be able to?
It might be competitive, but certainly healthy doesn't describe a dominant player leveraging position to secure exclusivity deals and suffocate competition.
If that's fair game, then why isn't this?
If everything is healthy, answer this; - how much more would it cost Microsoft to purchase FFXVI exclusivity, and what would be the resultant reputational damage?
As I have been saying this alot. It's MS fault that they are at this position. They had many opportunities to be the market leader. It might be competitive, but certainly healthy doesn't describe a dominant player leveraging position to secure exclusivity deals and suffocate competition.
This is buying an entire industry. If that's fair game, then why isn't this?
It's depends on their userbase. If everything is healthy, answer this; - how much more would it cost Microsoft to purchase FFXVI exclusivity, and what would be the resultant reputational damage?
They have no clue how much impact this purchase can have on the industry. We're really back to whining about an industry standard
So, it's the industry standard that no acquisitions are fair game, and a dominant leader enjoys all the spoils? We're really back to whining about an industry standard
Doesn't matter how many times you say it...Microsoft still don't own a time machine. What exactly is the pragmatic proposal to improve their position that doesn't involve correcting the past?As I have been saying this alot. It's MS fault that they are at this position. They had many opportunities to be the market leader.
I think you'll find most PlayStation owners won't be swayed and their position is far from at risk. This is buying an entire industry.
Activision and Blizzard are like EA+Take2. That is how big it is.
And acquisitions seem like a suitable avenue to compensate for dwarfed market share and increase competition. It's depends on their userbase.
Those companies are looking to get their money back. If you have less userbase, you pay more money.
That is how business works.
Fortunately, one of the benefits of not having universal healthcare is being able to decide IF you can even hold your newborn baby.Want to hold your newborn baby?
That'll be $40, please
Fortunately, one of the benefits of not having universal healthcare is being able to decide IF you can even hold your newborn baby.
Try harder.
So, it's the industry standard that no acquisitions are fair game, and a dominant leader enjoys all the spoils?
How is anyone reasoning that a competitor far less cashed-up than Microsoft could compete?
