Getting into a rhythm on the quests. Shit's still fun. Did a main quest, 3 neighborhood bosses and 2 side quests. Getting better guns.
The UV gun is really an amazing addition isn't it.

Has Arkane said anything about patches and such or has it been radio silence since release?
I stopped playing after a few hours as I was not having much fun, but am hoping we hear if they even plan on doing more than the already announced 60fps console patch.
Probably best to just shut up until they have 60 fps ready. Announce thr road map and do update 1 at the same time.Has Arkane said anything about patches and such or has it been radio silence since release?

For most products in life, the product that is estimated to sell a lot (typically mainstream products at affordable prices) get the most marketing dollars and TV ads. While products expected to be sold in limited quantities gets less marketing. That's because products and brands "should" have a marketing expense ratio to estimates sales/profits they dont want out of whack. The exception to this is any company wanted to heavily market a premium product to generate a halo image of awesomeness that trickles down. Like Audi doing TV adds for high end cars hardly anyone buys. But that can trickle down to people wanting to buy lower end models. Redfall is not that kind of product regardless of whether its 5/10 or 10/10 game.I think it's pretty clear this game didn't have the budget of a AAA title, so why market it and sell it as such? Like for as much blame that Arkane should get for this game, who the hell said they should sell it as something it very clearly isn't?
I've got the next town, and it's been sort of enjoyable so far, but it gives off extreme early access indy vibes and the game balancing is basically broken at the moment.
Also the nests are absolutely awful. Re-used geometry in a linear line ending with an incredibly frustrating movement / clambering at the end when you're trying to loot, and then mostly bad loot.
You're genuinely better off revisiting stores you've been to as they respawn their random loot pretty quickly (like the hunting and fishing store for example next to the graveyard spawns good loot).
Thats a good point. I think aa games are great, and yeah, given the motion comic cut scenes and poor presentation, this game screams aa budget title. They should have put it out and marketed it as a 40 dollar early access title, promising to add content over time. People would have been way more forgiving, and it could have been a success story for them when it is eventually “finished” like grounded.I think it's pretty clear this game didn't have the budget of a AAA title, so why market it and sell it as such? A few days ago on Reeee someone posted in one of the Redfall threads a graphic artist (I think) who tweeted she was all depressed reading how the game is getting grilled.
Unfortunately, she didn't go into any details or anything. She even said she didn't want to get into details about what went wrong.
Which is surprising because typically when a game gets nailed to the cross the first thing a game employee does is "dont blame us peons at work, blame management".
I made a simple 30 second youtube video. Enjoy.
yes, it's unique. & it's true of basically all entertainment industry products (books, music, movies), not just gaming...It's a really odd industry mechanic because in probably every other product in life, the really good products are premium priced and stand out from the pack. But in gaming, you'll get AAA 9.3/10 kinds of games being sold for the same price as a Redfall side by side at the store.
It's obvious. It's a GAAS title.
They don't want to admit it. Genre went out of style a couple of months before launch. Nobody could do anything about it.
So much so that Phil Spencer was ready to do that song and dance in the interview instead of just accepting that they planned to fix and add content to game over time.
Someone that's played this game or knows about the story: aren't vampires supposed to be invited into your home to do anything? So did this entire town invite vampires into their homes and if so, why are they so friendly? I barely allow my family over, much less a bloodsucker.
Is this game worth downloading on Gamepass? Normally i wouldn't ask this question if the game was 30-40gb but it being almost 100gb i want to know if it's worth the effort and time to download it?
The game is full of issues yet I keep coming back to play it. I like the environment and the mindless shooting and dumb AI right now. The weapons are cool and there's enough variation with them to switch up.Is this game worth downloading on Gamepass? Try it on cloud if you want. I'm enjoying it. Other people arent. Is this game worth downloading on Gamepass? Normally i wouldn't ask this question if the game was 30-40gb but it being almost 100gb i want to know if it's worth the effort and time to download it?

I think I got one of those on Wanted: Dead lol.Lol I popped an achievement that has 0.01% percentage during that goddamn bitch ass fight. Fuck yeah!
Uh oh. You are on the path to fuckery lol. Also did a poor job on the AI, which we all know already. Just did two nests which were full of awesome vampire fights where they were super aggressive, then did a boss mission where you get a skull (idk what for).
Oh you'll see hahaha. 2 more skulls you need.
playing it solo, as a sorta b-grade 'creepy far cry', the game's okay, & i'm enjoying it. but! had it not been on game pass, i'd've been disappointed at full price, & had i had arkane fan level expectations, i'd've been disappointed, too..While the game has its issues I think most of the hate its getting is people jumping on the band wagon shit.
I'm several hours in and quite enjoying it. The response its getting is not warranted.
i just grab the one treasure that the heart leaves, & then start running & just barely make it out. i've done 3, but i'll probably just pass on the rest. not really fun (or rewarding)...So are you guys actually escaping these nests? You're running through the whole level to the entrance? I can't make it in the time limit even skipping all treasure.
On one hand, yes, the internet has found its new punching bag and is exaggerating like they often do (see: Fallout 76, etc.)While the game has its issues I think most of the hate its getting is people jumping on the band wagon shit.

I'm surprised about the confusion here. I thought it was explained fairly well: grab the heart loot, and then loot the rest. It'll automatically kick you out when the timer is up; you don't need to manually escape. Maybe it's my Fallout 76 experience that helped me understand it immediately, since it has a similar mechanic for one particular bossi just grab the one treasure that the heart leaves, & then start running & just barely make it out. i've done 3, but i'll probably just pass on the rest. not really fun (or rewarding)...
Well thats way better lol. I mean ... they shouldn't even say escape then. I just think ending of Metroid and started booking it every time.On one hand, yes, the internet has found its new punching bag and is exaggerating like they often do (see: Fallout 76, etc.)
But on the other, the AI is inexcusably poor and, speaking as someone who has actually completed it, the game as a whole just feels half-baked. Considering Arkane's pedigree, this should have been much better.
I feel for the people out there that actually spent $70-$100 for this....

He’s super easy with a stake launcher.Alright, after recuperating and playing some Sims 4, Hollow Man is staked. Damn that's a rough bump in difficulty, and his basically 3 phases don't help much for your mental health. Last phase is the trickiest despite the fact that he can come out of the shield to smack you. This is where co-op would have been welcomed lol.
no fucking way! smh. thanks!...I'm surprised about the confusion here. I thought it was explained fairly well: grab the heart loot, and then loot the rest. Shit how did you know? That's literally what carried me. So good. He’s super easy with a stake launcher.
It would be hilarious if Todd ended up at Nintendo or Sony after that. I could easily imagine them trying to turn Todd into the next Reggie. It would probably be amazing.Someone needs to be accountable for this mess.
I hope Phil is on a rampage at Bethesda if its on them or if its on Phil he's getting his ass handed to him.
Let's be honest. Todd Howard is leaving Bethesda probs 2 to 3 months after starfield so they need to get the studio sorted and ready for that.
