Ive had to purchase Nintendo consoles to play Nintendo games, or games exclusive to the system.

Same for Sony consoles

Same for Xbox consoles

The company that got sued for antitrust violations in '91 (and lost)?

The company that barely ever lowers the prices on their own games even after 7+ years?

The company that intentionally put out a collection of games for like 3 months availability to drive up demand when supply was never an issue for them?

The company that overcharges for its hardware relative the capabilities?

It's funny that Sony is always the scapegoat for anti-consumer & anticompetitive practices that Microsoft are more guilty & willing to engage in, and Nintendo actually have arguably the worst history of in gaming 🤔

He said that it was difficult to determine which platforms their games would be releasing on in the future a few days ago, under oath, when two years ago, he made the direct decision, and enforced it against everyone's doubts, that ALL Zenimax games would be exclusive. The emails have been posted here and you can read them.

You're making a strawman argument to support your reasoning for wanting a company to literally attempt to monopolize the entire videogame industry. There is ZERO, and I mean ZERO benefit to this deal going through for anyone except people who want to define this like some big rallying cry against the big bad Sony corporation and to prop up nonsensical CoNsOLe WaRs. If you are able to look past all the information that has been exposed regardless if the deal goes through concerning Microsoft then you are nothing but a corporate cheerleader and saying things like "I don't even own an Xbox so trust my totally unbias opinion bro" is a lame attempt to give any opinion you share validation.

And aside from that, there is only the Blizzard Side who make a new game maybe every other 10 years.

GP must be more profitable/ revenue generating than we realize if it just takes 2 million new users to offset Activisions lost revenue.

Am I reading the other posts correctly, that MS only needs 2M additional GP subscribers to remove CoD from PS and not notice a difference? That seems way low, wish I could play with the model.

so again, we are talking about zenimax games which the only thing he lied under oath was the status of ESVI? right?

also, not that not all zenimax leadership were against it. as per the testimony we heard it today. If phil has the power to dictate which games will go exclusive or not, then I would trust he has the power to keep CoD multiplatform and not other people in his company. Therre is also a lot of talk that the next quake thing is going to be multiplatform anyway, so I don't know about this.

another note I have about the Zenimax model thing:

I feel that their initial model with exclusivity on new IPs was made without assuming that ABK deal was in mind. I feal that once they saw how much money that deal could bring that it could offset the losses from zenimax going fully exclusive

FTC's purpose and goal in this is to stop anti-competitive practices and future harm to the industry. Not protect Sony as so many seem to believe. Sony is not on trial but are 100% free to voice their opposition to the deal.

This is possible for sure, especially since we don't even know if they keep a certain percentage as profit before revenue sharing. But it is not an absolute based on the projections IMO. Those could be assuming revenue they would never receive without it being exclusive I think.

I have a feeling that if ABK deal fails, they will revert back their plan and look at which games they can release multiplatform from zenimax. maybe starfield but after a year or 6 months.
