Its global thread, not closed minded thread.
Its better to have these, than whatever is there on era.

To be fair this discussion is only happening because we got onto a hypothetical situation where you bought DLC or MTX or whatever for a game that was leaving the service. That situation doesn't even apply to first-party games.
FP games aren't the only games on the service. They're also not the games MS needs to convince 3rd parties are sustainable launching on GP.

So out of all that you only got moral posturing?

I was saying that the CMA offered remedies. None of which MS accepted. That the CMA would have only acted this way now if, as you suggested, the consumer interest was under threat. That that threat was likely on the MGS and cloud front and that probably drew them back to the table. The fact that I mentioned the corporate bootlickers who attack the CMA at the end was just commentary on people doing that but I'm glad it triggered you enough to call it 'moral posturing'.
If, for whatever reason, we get another surprise when it comes to this deal (one that does not favor MS), watch him throw a huge tantrum or just disappear again lol.

No. Microsoft bought a company that wasn't exclusive before and has made it exclusive now, which is way worse than asking a company to rent their game for 6 to 12 months. Then you have Microsoft preaching how they want everyone to play their games... when they simply do not.
Nobody forced the company to sell, they did it. Same argument was Sony with 6/12 month exclusives that you said earlier.

So if you dont see an issue there, there's none here.

We all know that's more expensive for Xbox to pay for the 6/12 month exclusivity, Microsoft is a Trillion company, so while it makes sense for Sony to do the 6/12, it makes sense if for MS to buy the entire publisher.

They're both playing the game and i think they're both bad for the industry, not equally bad, one harms more, but both are harming.

Dont know why people are arguing with subscription service.

You have two option.

Buy the full game and pay the online service, if you play online game. Or pay the subscription fees, which is small amount of money and wont leave that much dent on your bank.

3 day1 games(xbox/EA/Ubisoft/PS) is $210 bucks these days.

1 Year of EA premium/Uplay+ is $180. Or pay 45$ for 3 month each and finish those 3 games. That will save you money, with downside that you wont own your games.

For Xbox/PS you essentially need to pay online mode. So 3 games plus online mode will cost you $270.
XGPU is 204 for 1 year. That is a $66 saving. While PS+ premium is $120 yearly or $180/$216 yearly. Caviet is that you wont get day1 games, but with in 1-2 years.

The only valid argument against this game ownership. PS+ games leave the service, so its unreliable. EA licensed games leave the service, same with MS FH games.

The choice depends on you whether you want to own your games or whether you want to save your money. There is no wrong answers here.

Finally, gaming is a hobby, not a job. There will be a time when you wont be able to play them. So my advice for you is to enjoy them while you can.

Or, you could buy the game 2 months after release for $50.

I think he disappeared after a past tantrum because he was temp banned for a while. Not sure how long though so I don't know how much of his absence was by choice.
He has a habit of guessing 'intentions' and exiting the conversation with people if it's not something he likes to address though. Done it a couple of times to different people already.

*Approved by Microsoft👌

I don't know where you live but it's quite easy to resell physical gaming items. I am mainly against what gamepass will do to the industry much like what Netflix has done to the movie/show industry. Utter cheap garbage

Yeah true because the quality of tv shows were so much better before Netflix. Xenia, Hercules am I right?

Redfall only released in the state it released because it was going to gamepass day one. If it was going to depend on full price sales it would have been delayed as many times as needed or canceled.
I doubt Redfall will be the only game where this happens.

Redfall will be looked back on in 15 years as a cult classic and the start of the new era of vampire games

Come back to me when Netflix produce a show with the same cultural impact as something like Blackadder, Monty Python, Fawlty Towers, Mr Bean, Little Britain, Breaking Bad or The Office.

I doubt the muricans here will recognize half of those names.
How dare you not include Absolutely Fabulous??!?

Yeah and Pentiment, Grounded, HiFi Rush wouldn't be released without gamepass.

Funny how Redfall is now the synonym for "Gampeass bad" whining. Ignoring the fact we get and got a lot of good games thanks to it.

The discussions here is sometimes like back in the day when Spotify was released and old people complaining about the "value" of music and such. The only thing I can see in this kind of discussions is that:

Why are we treating Timed exclusives as a Sony thing? MS has done the same plenty times.

Married with children, Roseanne, Family Matters, Fresh Prince, Tales from the Crypt and so on.

Stranger Things, Narcos, Love death and robots, BoJack Horseman, the umbrella academy, the crown, house of cards, castlevenia anime, cyberpunk Edgerunners.

It's a good thing you can still purchase those 3rd Party games if they're leaving the service, then, huh?

As far as sustainability, I think MSFT has proven that not only is it sustainable, it's profitable, and will likely command higher profit margins going forward.

It's Sony's own fault. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

They shown you what they can do with old games the old cod games are playable and viable because of ms, they are like the forefront of preserving classic and in demand games

After the shitshows Microsoft and Activision created with Halo Infinite, Redfall, Overwatch 2, Diablo 4 etc., I want to see what kind of disaster these two can create together. Maybe the first CoD by MicroVision will finally surpass 500gb and become too big for the Series S.

Yes, they both do it. The difference is that Sony can go for bigger games (even wanted Starfield) + longer durations while MS usually can only go for smaller games.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth
Final Fantasy XVI
(full)
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake
Forspoken
(24+ months)
Deathloop
Ghostwire: Tokyo
Silent Hill 2 Remake

+ many more like Stray or Kena

vs.

Stalker 2 (only 3 months)
Hello Neighbour 2
Scorn
High on Life
and so on

Halo infinite plays amazing, Diablo 4 is a record sales leader, ms just brought back retro gaming with the classic cod games. Redfall missed the mark and Overwatch 2 wasn't needed yet broke servers for days due to demand

I'll believe it when they bring back Commander Keen from Windows 95. Muh nostalgia 🥲

No... Those games have quality enough to be released full price without gamepass.
You missed the point of the post.

Stranger Things, Black Mirror are definitely both up there in the cultural impact stakes just to mention but 2.

Black mirror wasn't created by Netflix ffs.

What on earth has happened to this thread? I come back and it's still people shilling and defending gamepass like their lives depend on it. One guy even triple posted in order to do so.

Sad Donald Trump GIF

You think Stranger Things and Black Mirror are known in every country in the world like Mr Bean, or are going to be used as a cornerstone in their respective genres for decades to come like Monty Python and Blackadder are?
