"Please don't allow more competition on our platforms Mr. CMA!"

Pretty sure those letters would get thrown in the trash literally immediately.

Absolutely. Its the regulators that forced Apple and Google to allow other storefronts.

That MS wants to compete there is fine but turning Xbox into a mobile brand to do it doesn't seem good to me.

But I'm not a mobile gamer - maybe a lot of people want MS to go that way 🤷‍♂️

No one should hope for mobile strategy.
That shit is cancer.

They normalized spending 100$ like 10$.

Meta is on a loss steep.
Apple is doing apple stuff. They don't need Activision. They make more money without making any game.
Google is a risky business for Activision, considering their death rate.
Microsoft is the only candidate due to Xbox.
Without Xbox, no one would have wanted them to touch Activision..

But at the end of the day, Activision board is getting 70b or 3.5b/ 4.5b if it fails.
Your assessment is exactly why I said Google and Apple are like also-ran companies compared to Microsoft.

Even 2nd in the world Microsoft are probably more powerful and dangerous than all those no hopers combined. I 'm not a fan of Microsoft's contribution in products, but I can respect their assessment of markets, to understand where they need to be ahead of time - other than them famously missing the boat with Windows Mobile back in 2000.

Were back in the golden ages baby

Ask yourself if they would have to cough up anything in the event they float the offer - with some nothing issue for shareholders - that Bobby can't agree to for personal reasons, like the current CEO staying on for 10years - and watch shareholders use that offer to pull the deal apart for free by ejecting Bobby, for not agreeing. Google, Amazon and Meta could all be doing the same, just to monkey with Microsoft, because everyone but Microsoft is better off with ATVI as is in an independent state.

That's exactly what Microsoft would be doing in their position.

Don't do meth, kids.

Releasing a storefront on a platform doesn't mean they're transitioning the entire business to that platform, lmao. Xbox still releases games on their console even though they have a PC storefront.

You're confusing fantasy with reality here..

This thread got real weird lol

I don't think Apple or Google want anything to do with ABK lol
Enough drugs and alcohol (and magic mushrooms) - anything can happen...

For example - This is usually what happens to me when I've had too much of the wacky weed and start thinking about silly ways for companies to take over the world in spite of other companies:

Yes, these are the arguments Microsoft would have used should the CAT Appeal moved forward, and they're powerful arguments. However, they've come to an alternate solution and used those same arguments to present a case to the CMA that a Material Change of Consequence has occurred (both the EU CC remedies and the Sony deal). The CMA can then use those arguments to issue a derogation to their Final Report (the April decision) that allows MSFT to close (but hold ABK separate) while the ongoing Phase 1 investigation of the new restructured deal is moving forward:

This part is important: "(2) as explained at the hearing on 17 July 2023, the CMA may still consent to Microsoft acquiring an interest in Activision under the terms of the proposed final order."
Let's assume you understand how these arguments could be effective, and step us through them.

Arguments can be "good" or "bad", not "powerful", you sound like a Tom Warren type using a words to pre-empt a win for their arguments.

But even if Microsoft think they are good arguments, this is a country of FA Cups, were the expectation isn't that the disadvantage team wins, but that they take the fight to the opposition, and that's why the cup is so notorious for giant killing upsets each year. And that's what I'm most aggrieved about in this process, is that Wrexham CMA are capitulating to the Microsoft Chelsea before they've even got their boots on.

Didn't google allow other store fronts way before that? I remember installing the Amazon store on my android phone a long time ago before I switched to iPhone.
