That wrong result for 7900 and 16 fps. Nothing to compare TuringI've seen on why AMD RT performance is behind.
No,but mainly due to PC devs not having the same type of access to the hardware. If a 4090, heck even if current had access to 7900xt,not the XTX, I'm sure 1800p upscaled would be the minimum in most games. That's assuming they had fast enough CPUs to complement those GPUs.Can a 4090 even do that?
Or 699 without disc drive as a maximum but 599 is more likelyNo and I expect it to be $599 sans drive.
Selling my OG PS5 will help pay for most of that cost.If this is gonna be $599 that will probably be $200 more than base PS5 in Canada. Cheapest I see PS5 here is $580-600.
Here Gamestop is giving you 199 in trade in creditSelling my OG PS5 will help pay for most of that cost.
farmerboy - yo, what's going on in this thread
this thread -
Honestly I flew too close to the sun when I mentioned Xbox was considering launching next gen way early because the number of people at the time who knew this was super low and I got talked to about itWell then can we get Heisenberg to kidnap a dev and force him to spill the beans or something, reignite the thread?
This place has been a graveyard for a while now.
HeisenbergFX4 bro, do us a solid. We'll start a gofundme for your bail money
Sorry for the super late response to this post been busy. You are right that the pc you gave would outperform the pro at that price if this leak is true but what we were discussing is the specs I envisioned for the pro not these leaked ones and in case you can't tell the only part of your pc that matches my pro is the gpu everything else is worse and that's just in raw spec don't get into actual performance where it would be worse. No, I am not. A 8800XT will likely cost $500/$600, based on the 7800XT pricing of $500 which you can check on pcpartspicker. The replacement card will not cost anymore than $600 though. A Ryzen 7 5700x (which is better than whatever CPU the PS5pro will have mind you) is $200. The remaining $400-$700 (depending on if your budget is $1300/$1500) is more than enough to cover a case, motherboard, storage, RAM, PSU, keyboard, mice, and even a controller. And this is assuming you are not even interested in the used market.
And a system like that will match and in most cases exceed the PS5pro.
Its amazing it been this quietIts been more than a month.
Where are the fucking leaks? Are the leakers out drinking?
Its sad. This thread needs to be revived almost daily FFS

Not exactly new info but this thread is too quiet for my liking...
That's guaranteed, 100%.All I ask is this releases before Death Stranding 2 and GTA VI and that both are Pro enhanced.
PS4 Pro wasn't really worth it. Slighty better IQ but same performance. PS5 Pro really needs to GUARANTEE 60-120 fps in EVERYTHING. Otherwise GTFO. Charge whatever you want. People drop 1.000+ on dumb phones they sure are going to drop 800+ for a gaming device if its worth it.

It was totally worth it.
Can I offer the third perspective? I don't know if it was worth it. I bought one day one and never went back to my base PS4 so I enjoyed the benefits even if I'm largely ignorant to what those were. Like, I'm sure it had benefits in some games but I wonder how many games and to what degree. All I know is that if PS5 gets a Pro model, my plan is to skip it and the base PS6.
If you had a 4k/hdr tv it wasn't just worth it, it was a necessity. If you had a 1080p tv ....not really worth it aside from some games running more stable as well as getting supersampling for some games
That's guaranteed, 100%.
PlayStation 5 Pro is November 2024, and those games are 2025.
I had/have a 4K set. Base PS4's IQ never bothered me. Then again, I exclusively play my Switch docked and those games look fine too.
Starting to really look like we're going to have to wait until 2025 (probably late '25) to get the true next gen games this gen ... that honestly is pathetic but it is what it is... monster Hunter Wilds also '25
I meant back in 2017 the Ps4 Pro was only a big deal if you had a 4k tv.
As far as Ps5 Pro if you can play Switch games on a 4k TV and not be bothered by the image quality then yeah, you definitely are NOT someone who will really "need" a PRO.
I would like to get one. But at this point don't want to spend too much on one. They still are going for $150-200+ used here. If I can find one for $100 or a bit more I'll get one. These are still going for $350 new which is nuts.It was totally worth it.
No leaks from devs, no hints of it anywhere in terabytes of hacked Insomniac files.there is no way devs got devkits and didn't leak info yet.
How can someone with access to so much information.... still just get it wrong?
That the TMU and RT share the same cache doesn't mean they are the same unit.
It is simple. Nvidia has RT cores that accelerate everything, including the BVH generation. AMD does not, and that is primarily why their RT implementation is so bad. Them using TMUs to do that part is the equivalent of using pixel shaders which are non-dedicated, to handle RT period. It can be done, but it will not perform well.
On the RT debate, this is the best explanation I've seen on why AMD RT performance is behind.

Edit: link not working, so added image.
I believe RDNA4 have solved this problem with the introduction of the Traversal Engine.
Not to mention AMD is like what, 2 generations behind?

TrollingI dunno why but I am not excited.
I mean, I will most likely end up buying it ( it is a Sony console at the end of the day ). it's just I know it will be a disappointment in terms of power.
if we are lucky, it might be a 3080 level if we are lucky ( which I don't think it will be. seeing the PS5 is 2070s level, I am expecting the Pro 2080ti /3070 level. but one can dream it would be a 3080 level. and that to be honest.. with the horrible ray tracing performance from AMD and by todays standards. 3080 is considered a mid range these days.

Why?there is no way devs got devkits and didn't leak info yet.
I like to believe people are afraid to lose their jobs in a time of multiple firings and so many others looking for work, so they are not risking their jobs with leaks.there is no way devs got devkits and didn't leak info yet.
Yeah but it's not guaranteed they'd have significant pro support. Hopefully a 60fps mode or VRR support. That's guaranteed, 100%.
