And you can add the "on a single platform" thing.
As you say, it's not referring to its own games. Speak in general. Big games launching on a single platform are going to be a rarity. And in fact they already are (except for those on Switch/Nintendo).
In context with the question it is simply: "the industry trend is multiplatformity and great games in general are not going to be totally exclusive to a single platform.

It seems like his focus is on anything but making great games and the Xbox platform is paying the price. It amazes me that he's been consistently promoted. Agreed. This is a road that once you go down, its going to be extremely hard to actually sell home consoles in the future. A chunk of their fans will just be either expecting it for free on gamepass or will wait till they can get it on Playstation, so if they thought their sales where low now....wait till they continue doing this.

So it seems...maybe they are fully aware of that and the plan is likely to not even put out some home console and instead do some Steam Deck, Portable type option or something.

Phil Spencer Won The Most Number Of Major Industry Awards In 2022. This man won more awards than people that actually makes games. More than people that achieved more with less. Absolute fraud. Think about that, 2022 when xbox had zero first party AAA for the whole year.
