True. There were so many years of broken promises and underdelivering. They did have the pandemic and new console working for them. Which worked for a while, but failed to capitalize on that.

Oof, thats cold. Part of me thinks it doesn't look good for Ninja Theory to be honest. I just seems like what Microsoft/Sony would do anyways in this climate.

Or...maybe Hellblade 2 is the first of many walking simulator games by Xbox, maybe its their new direction to copy Playstation, who knows? They might actually be safe?

Heavenly Sword was a novelty, due to being an early PS3 game. Nobody played Enslaved. Nobody wanted them to make DmC. The first Hellblade was a glorified walking sim. Nobody played Bleeding Edge. Hellblade 2 is never going to break even.

I do believe they will take at least a year to fully being trashed by MS. Might not be smart to close them yet since they have being on a closing spree, would kill any kind of hype for future announced games and damage even further their relationship with their fanbase.

I think you need to layoff the crack for a while.

Ninja theory is inhouse studio, unlike the recent closed studios, which were part of Bethesda. MS won't close them, unless the next project fails.

They might even close them if they succeed to keep up the suspense!

Make ninja theory work on fallout or Skyrim. Those hell blade 2 graphics would be great on those games.

I played Heavenly Sword back in the day, I had an OG Phat PS3. That game ran at like 15 fps and it felt like shit to play and the motion control sections were torture. I never liked Ninja Theory ever since that turd

I had a similar experience, although for me it was not only Heavenly Sword, but also Enslaved and DmC. Somehow the look of these games never appealed to me, and the gameplay always felt somehow clunky to me. As if there were still a few months of development time left to properly iron out the kinks.

And then the studio takes a long time and then completely forgets to deliver any gameplay at all.
