This will be fun for 5 mins. Who cares.
As a free sampler it will give PS Eye users something to do with their camera the first night, and pique the curiosity of non-Eye owners.

The other option would be to not include it at all. What's the harm in including it?

Geez, people like to complain.

I fail to understand how it will invite people to buy the camera. It needs a camera to function and its not as if it will be able to show of capabilities of the Eye without the eye. The best it could do would be to display a demo VIDEO. They'd have to be really clever in using Sixaxis only functions without any image feedback to demonstrate anything remotely possible with the Eye.

at this point I wonder how much of a financial hit it would be for Sony to just eat the cost of the camera and pack it in the box.

Kiosk mode @ stores.

I know, it's exciting, but you don't need to pre-install it on every PS4, as is implied. A demo video, yes, but the game itself could be included on a disc (Like start the party starter edition was with the eye) or downloaded from PSN.

I was talking about installing on every PS4, otherwise, I'm very impressed with the AR, especially with objects going "behind" the people on screen.

This sounds like a pure marketing point and an head scratcher at that. Why not, you know, just bundle it with the PS Eye since people have to buy that anyway to use it?

Goddamn, that Eye demo is preloaded? I guess I'm getting a PS Eye on day one then. Well played Sony. Well played.

Would it be possible to get a class action lawsuit for a company that gives you an incomplete product? (ie. bundling an unplayable game unless you buy an add-on?) Ergo, suing Sony to give a free PS Eye to all PS4 customers?

What the flying fuck?

So with all of the kinects sold for the 360, has there been a killer app? I didn't get into the wii much, but I was wondering if any third party made innovative uses for the wiimote. My kids play a sonic game on the wii, but all it looks like they're doing is shaking the shit out of the wiimote and the game translates that into "swing sword".

Where's the confirmation that it comes with the PS4? All I get is an error message on the official site.

More likely it comes bundled with the Eye.

Kinect sports and Dance Central were fun.

Or brilliant. "We need the camera to play this hun, let's go grab one later tonight"

Instead of forcing a camera on everyone they give everyone a game that requires it, which puts the decision to buy the camera on the customer. Exactly how it should be. I just added the camera to my pre-order based on this news. Playroom was more impressive than anything I've seen from Kinect for the 360 or the Xbone.
