So you're feeling bad for no one in particular and don't have any evidence to support any of this. Got it.We'll probably never know. This would also explain why we didn't see many reveals at E3. Some games may have had to been retooled once PS Eye was dropped. Hopefully a PS Eye bundle is an option after launch. I'd probably go with that.
It makes absolutely no sense to pre load this on every new console. This game is built around the camera and the ps4 doesn't come with a camera right out of the box.
You're dreaming if you think he has an answer for this, sorry. So you're feeling bad for no one in particular and don't have any evidence to support any of this. Got it.
And what's the excuse then for not showing more Kinect-friendly games on the Kinect-mandatory XBO?
There's always the old faithful "Kinect Stigma". That's what I'm expecting. You're dreaming if you think he has an answer for this, sorry.
That is why you're not in marketing. Cameras will be bought just for this being preloaded. It makes absolutely no sense to pre load this on every new console. This game is built around the camera and the ps4 doesn't come with a camera right out of the box.
So the game that is pre-loaded is not PlanetSide 2? For shame.
Also, the Raving Rabbids in a controller was way funnier than this.
At least its free on all PS4's though!
Planetside 2 may not be ready on launch day. If it is, I wouldn't be surprised to see it or DCUO pre-installed.

S¡mon;67941101 said:It is unforgivable that Sony doesn't include the PS4 Eye with every PS4 sold. I know, I know: 399 price tag. Just throw away the headset, include the PS4 Eye (they can use the built-in microphones as a 'headset').
If they delivered the PS4 Eye with the system, developers would have a good reason to do stuff with it. For example, let's take FIFA 14. The developers could have said "We're going to make use of the camera: if the player gets angry after he/she makes a foul, we'll give him a yellow card".
But now? Why would they even consider doing this, as 95/100 PS4 owners won't even own the camera.
To me, it are these kind of small details which would have made next-gen gaming, well, next-gen.
Also, now I fear OS features will be limited. What about 'swiping' through menus, voice recognition, etc. Sure, it will offer a little bit, but it will never get much better, as the installed base will be small.
Another example how game developers could have used the camera: let's take Call of Duty. They could have said: you know what, we are going to make it possible to enable "night vision (in-game)" by just tapping your head twice with your hand.
But now? No reason to make this, as the installed base will be low.
Oh, and if you don't want to 'tap your head' for something like this, it obviously also would have been possible by using the controller.
Again, it are the small details. A yellow card if you get angry at the virtual referee? Sure. Enabling night vision by tapping your head with your hand? Sure.
It's not something gamers would have been forced to use, but it sure as well would give an advantage over PC games. It would have been a feature that makes console games unique.
Sony has been making lots of good decisions, but not to include the PS4 Eye? That's a terrible decision.
I bet that if Microsoft's price was $399 with Kinect, Sony's price also would have been $399 with PS4 Eye.
This has to be an example of one area Sony definitely need to improve.. Including a PS-EYE demo without a PS-EYE is a little bit questionable, but they just can't do anything remotely useful with it, so it ends up being a half-assed tickbox in the marketing department.
To back up what I am saying, looking at the demo, which looks cool initially, you suddenly realise it's really not very well thought out..

He's apparently interacting with the robot, yet he's fully turned 90 degrees to the screen, so how can he possibly see what's going on the TV?
PS-EYE: 3/10 Sony.. you need to either ditch it, or embrace it..
PS4: 9/10 almost flawless..

Maybe it's to get people to buy the camera? It makes absolutely no sense to pre load this on every new console. This game is built around the camera and the ps4 doesn't come with a camera right out of the box.
sure does.
Welcome to 2010.
Don't you mean 2003?
Yeah, um, it's called an advert.
It's still half-assed.. AR only looks cool in adverts, and that's the point.. of all the things to push to get people interested in PS-EYE, this ain't it..
They plastered 'Actual PS4 Footage' making it seem like this is what you'll get.. it's not a concept video..
Don't waste your time. Check his post history and you can easily see what he's doing here.
Oh that's going to come with it? Awesome, I was hoping more would become of it than just a tech demo. Hopefully they'll do a little more with it, too.

Sony should just load up the console with all the F2P games also for the hell of it.

Seems like Sony really want's you to get a PS eye, but didn't want to force it.
That IS what you are getting.

I'm not sure what point you are trying to make.
Again, you're supposed to be looking at the TV where you see yourself, like any other camera based motion game since 2003. The looking outside the TV is acting. Nothing more.
It's as "flawed" as all the other devices (Wiimote/Kinect/wtv), which is to say, it isn't. You're categorizing it as another type of device/interaction, which this isn't the point of.It's the fact all they've included as a 'show case' for PS-EYE is a concept that's been flawed since 2003.. that's half-assed..
The light in the controller has multiple purposes that don't include the camera at all.The other side of that is it appears to be a weak area for Sony who seem to be struggling to think of anything truly interesting to do with the PS-EYE, they've included the lights on the controller, but don't include it in the box, and then bundle a crap 'demo'.. it just stinks of putting the PS-EYE out to pasture from day one..
I was talking about the software, not the hardware.. You might not like motion controls, but I have kids, and occasionally do some family motion gaming with them, the Wii and Kinect have plenty of entertaining stuff..It's as flawed as all the other devices...
Technically yes, but what use cases for that that aren't also a bit half-assed?The light in the controller has multiple purposes that don't include the camera at all.

lol, it's the same fucking shit man.I was talking about the software, not the hardware.. You might not like motion controls, but I have kids, and occasionally do some family motion gaming with them, the Wii and Kinect have plenty of entertaining stuff..
Oh brother... What exactly wouldn't be an example of something that isn't half assed?Technically yes, but what use cases for that that aren't also a bit half-assed?
PS4 is a revelation, but this is definitely something that doesn't jive with me in comparison to other solutions that seem to offer something credible even if for family gaming..
Great piece of software that requires a camera that doesn't come with the console.. ? Dafuk. Should have made it a free DLC with the camera.
