Dragon Age: The Veilguard lets you choose top surgery scars in character creator

And let's not forget almost completely erasing the police from the game and i rememeber even someone trolling them in one occasion.

They appear once in the entire game when you're chasing the Lizard through the city and Peter makes sure to shout out that "They always get in the way!"

Contrast to the first game where they were frequently around, working with SM and on friendly terms

Dont forget the all white thug gangs in SM2 as well

The last one was debunked.

Oh yeah? What'd they patch in some shaders?
Lol no, it was just some grifter taking curated pics.

If there is a game in existence where you don't need imaginary ammo to troll how woke it is, it's fucking sp2 :lollipop_grinning_sweat:

I still have nightmares about miles new original costume with the dumbass killmonger haircut on sight:lollipop_squinting:

And the biggest crime of them all - no more Spider-Cop

For the "I'm not a bigot" style of thinking, has there been any game that has this DEI stuff that didn't flop? An argument could be made for BG3, but the gaming community didn't seem to really interpret trans characters and everyone being bi as DEI.

Ironically, I thought Hogwarts introduced a trans character that I think was respectfully done (I'd be curious to hear if any trans folks here agree or disagree).

BG3 is the gold standard for having things like this be in a game but not feel like some kind of Agenda was in mind.

Bi sexual and gay romances etc don't matter. Those should absolutely be in big RPGs with choices.

I consider BG3 to be woke-lite. I miss the days when each character was unique not just in appearance, but their sexual preferences. Such as earlier Mass Effect games. Making all characters in a game pansexual, or whatever the hell that is, is just lazy. BG3 did everything else so well, I could mostly overlook it. But it did get old in camp when I was playing a straight character and every 5 minutes some male character would pout because I rejected his advancements. The female characters weren't near as pushy. So there did still seem to be an agenda there. Just not as gross as this DA garbage.

This is silly, and odd for a medieval fantasy game, but who cares really?

Did everyone care this much when you could make a character with a big hairy dick and huge tits in cyberpunk or is just the scars that is setting everyone off?

This game is going to be awful...this particular feature is not the reason it will be awful.

No, but it will be one of the main reasons the sales will crash and burn. This news is already spreading like wildfire and the majority (as always) ain't havin it.
IMO, I really really highly doubt this will have anything other than a marginal impact on the sales of this game.

Yah I'd agree with Hogwarts. I thought Claire from CyberPunk was done well too. There was some rhetoric that it was bad because they made her vengeful and it "puts trans people in a violent light", but I still liked her dialogue and side quests.

They also turned the female cop into an angry stronk woman with a butch haircut.

Who-is-Wraith-Meet-the-Spider-Man-2-character.jpg

Almost as bad as turning the only good looking female in the game into a lesbian...

I watched gameplay footage last night and it actually looks fine overall, eased some of my concerns. I am still concerned but I'm going to take a leap of faith. Personally, I want this game to sell well because there were rumors and concept art floating around of an Origins remake, and I'm scared that this game flopping will lead them to cancel the remake.
If this team remakes Origins it wouldn't be a good OG game but pandering piece of 💩 like this particular one.

Funny thing is, PC Gamer, Eurogamer, Screen Rant and Wired will give this game an 11 out of 10 because of this. I mean, who cares about gameplay, story, writing and exploration in RPG's anymore?

I honestly don't get why shit like this should even be in a game. A fantasy game. And even if the devs want to tell you otherwise, it's not normal to cut off your tits.

I'm not a bigot so I really don't care. Anyone who does is weird and needs to go outside and touch some grass lol
And anyone who supports normalizing this is quite bigoted and needs to find a new cause. If a developer goes culture warring it's inevitably going to impact their game.

It really does feel like there's a different type of hatred for the female form at these developers.

Some sort of brain rot where "if I can't look like this in real life, I won't let any of the characters as well!"
Insecure feminists in top positions + DEI consultants + Toxic Positivity echo chambers = Modern Western AAA games industry.

Once they lose enough money the Industry will hopefully course correct.

I just don't get it you have an established community already in place, and yet you add things an incorporate things into your game that will cause controversy among your CORE AUDIENCE.

I'm just going to be honest most people TOLERATE a lot of this, they don't accept it to the degree that the twitter or mainstream media make it seem like, even less when its incorporated in established franchises LIKE THIS ONE.

I want to play a dark heroic fantasy get lost in the events happening in the world, the epic battles , the difficult decisions. I don't care about someone struggling with their identity this isn't supposed to be some edgy preteen esque highschool drama game.

I know the topic is about the character creator... but ima be real, even if it had NONE of this weirdo freak nonsense in the creator the game still looks like shit.

Its just the color scheme and art style is groooooss.

I agree. Loved Origins back then.
This cartoony mobile style and especially the character and enemy designs look ridiculously bad.
My main game has been WoW for 2 decades now, so i don't even have a problem with cartoony artstyles but imho DA needs a darker atmosphere.

This, 100%. This game looks like trash. All the other stuff just adds to an already terrible looking game.

"This aint it chief"
"Oh you sweet summer child"
"Is this the hill you really want to die on?"

Will probably all be included in some form
Now I'm imagining a hill where a character is actually trying to hold off an army or something for that one. Someone trying to convince them to flee instead

In a medieval world of magic, why would anyone have access to modern surgeons using scalpels to remove breasts…when firstly they don't have the tools, and secondly you would do it better with a spell or a potion.

Added to that, people do not like their surgery scars. If you have a scar from any surgery you want it gone or covered up, you're not gonna want to give it to your avatar in a fictional game 🤦‍♂️

Edit. The only reason this makes sense is as a goofy joke.
