In a statement provided to Windows Central, Ami Silverman, who leads Xbox's consumer said that Xbox devices remain available in all currently supported regions, specifically noting Saudi Arabia.

When these rumors initially cropped up, our sources denied that Xbox had any plans to exit Saudi Arabia, or indeed any region where they are presently operating.
Ami Silverman, Xbox Chief Consumer Sales Officer responded with the following statement:

"Xbox devices are available in all current Xbox hardware-supported countries, including Saudi Arabia," Silverman emphasized. "Console availability may vary by country but Xbox games can be played on consoles, PCs, and on phones, tablets or TVs where Xbox Cloud Gaming is available." Silverman also noted that players can head to xbox.com/regions to see where Xbox will continue to be available, and what types of support you can expect per region.

"Remain available" does not inspire confidence lol.

They're basically confirming that theyre destocking.

Eh, did we really need a second thread? Coming up next : "Rumors surface that xbox's confirmation of not leaving SA were in fact false"

I just posted this in the other thread, worth posting here for people to see it as well. Current state of play across the region:

Jordan and Lebanon aren't even listed on the website.

Thank you for acting with your conscious, Microsoft.

I would not want to support the economy of a country which degrades women, the poor, and homosexuals, either.

Imagine sentencing people to death for witchcraft and sorcery because they don't believe in some shitty fairytales, in 2024!

Dignity prevails at Xbox 🫡

Time for some....

Yea, they'll drop out of SA after they start porting over exclusives to PS5, which I was told by Xbox that will never happen. Oh, wait...

I think it's carefully worded. Confirms that in Saudi it's currently available, but doesn't go beyond that. They certainly have given themselves space to pivot, maybe not committing to keep supplying to the region, might just be selling through existing stock.

"Xbox devices are available in all current Xbox hardware-supported countries, including Saudi Arabia"

That doesn't deny the claim that MS is leaving Saudi Arabia. It states the current status.

It also states "devices", which includes buying games from Steam on PC.

I don't understand. Where, in any of the above statement, is the denial? The concern is that consoles will be pulled out of store shelves, is it not?

Happy to see Xbox continue their presence in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The tradition of creative collaboration between Microsoft and MENA endures.

I absolutely hate corporate speech. That disingenuous, intellectually crippling words play. "Xbox devices", consoles are not beingn sold but games can be played on phones so it's exactly the same thing!
