framerate does look rough in several parts of the video, most likely series x footage. Is that low framerate at 1:00 happening for everyone else or is it on my end?

Looking forward to this! Glad its not an uncharted/tomb raider clone. Looks much more unique this way.
This is the problem with doing an Indy game, as it will always draw comparisons to these 2 IP's.It looks more unique, it doesn't look more fun than Uncharted/Tomb Raider.
It’s gonna sell DOZENS of copies on XBox
Dont care.My guy, it's not souls, it's a linear cinematic adventure. MachineGames was always lame with melee, and it shows.
It's still could be a banger... at least on a second playthroughYes I want an amazing Indy game![]()
It’s crazy
The game’s out this week and they decide to show it in THIS state

To be fair nobody can do Uncharted like ND so unlikely they would best that if they went that route and I think they would be foolish to try. Tomb Raider on the other hand has had its day. Like I Said earlier in the thread I'm happy its not clone of one of these two, I found even U4 kinda boring tbh.
Aye, maybe. Theif, Dishonoured and Riddick work really well though (to name a few)and this kinda looks like what they are going for so if done right they might pull it off.If the third person perspective works best for the gameplay then that's what they should have done regardless of what came before. Spider-man is continuously compared to Batman due to the fact that Insomniac utilized the same core combat design. But that is part of what makes Spider-man fun to play so for many games trying to reinvent the wheel doesn't make sense. Everything I'm seeing in this game screams "third person action game" to me. I think avoiding the most obvious gameplay perspective for the type of game being created simply to avoid comparisons is a mistake. Doesn't mean I think the game will be a failure. As always, I hope it is a kick ass game.

Jurys out but fingers crossed. I certainly looks the part.
As always MS marketing is fucking terrible. Why not just show us the full opening level or similar and one or two big set peices?
Yes, I do not understand this argument about not making it 3rd person just because of another game.If the third person perspective works best for the gameplay then that's what they should have done regardless of what came before. For me personally, like i said earlier, I have played Uncharted and Tomb Raider to death. Unless they could bring anything new to the table then we already have the perfect 3rd person Indy game in Uncharted 2.Yes, I do not understand this argument about not making it 3rd person just because of another game.
Imagine if the Tomb Raider devs thought the same and made the latest Tomb Raider trilogy a first-person game so it didn't draw Uncharted comparisons. If Tomb Raider could do a 3rd person game, even after Uncharted's success, Indiana Jones could have as well.
Otherwise, why is Obsidian making Avowed a first-person+third-person medieval fantasy RPG instead of a card-roguelike RPG, as Skyrim already exists?
There will always be multiple games similar to what's someone making. Devs need to be confident in their ability and try to deliver the best possible game in that genre. Shying away from competition is a surefire sign of low confidence in their own product.
Shame the Punches don't seem to connect, just like the movies as well lol.Fuuuuck, the same punch sound effects as movies.
Crossing my fingers we get a good Indy game.
I think it more that it appears to be going down the immersive sim route, not exactly like Dishonoured. I'm expecting Blade will scratch that specific itch.I'm not seeing these Dishonored comparison's personally, seeing as you can switch to high chaos at will in any part of Dishonored's gameplay and use the Sword, Guns and attacking Void powers anytime you like, it doesn't look like you can do that in this Indiana game, release day should be interesting.

i'm not sure what to make of it now after those vids, i'm more interested now to find out what type of game it is rarther than playing it, i saw Indy knock out a German who dropped an MP40 and i thought instantly in 1st person view, pick it up and use it lol,I think it more that it appears to be going down the immersive sim route, not exactly like Dishonoured, im expecting Blade will scratch that specific itch.
Again MS's marketing is terrible, i'm surprised they managed to let everyone know COD is an FPS this year.
Level design, layouts, pacing etc seems from there.I'm not seeing these Dishonored comparison's personally, seeing as you can switch to high chaos at will in any part of Dishonored's gameplay and use the Sword, Guns and attacking Void powers anytime you like, it doesn't look like you can do that in this Indiana game, release day should be interesting.
The worst thing I see is just that, the first-person camera gives the feeling of driving a toy doll with his fists up...Yeah, this is so basic and mediocre. Even if they didn't change anything and only added fighting multiple enemies at the same time, the combat would have looked at least somewhat more exciting.
The 1v1 first-person combat looks like the combat in "every other VR game" without the fun that VR gaming brings.
Well it just reminded me of Wolfenstein seeing those levels and design which isn't surprising seeing as Machine Games made it, so we are seeing different things but yeah it seems a stealth. game with puzzles etc, from the combat and hidden areas, that we see the same.Level design, layouts, pacing etc seems from there.
Yet to see if its im sim or pure stealth game. Will have to play to know that. It does seem to have a variety of options to tackle enemies. But most of them seem to be different weapons, which points towards it being stealth title. Still, could have full featured systems, you never know.
But if the place is crawling with nazis if he would use that MP40 he would be found very quickly and probably shot on sight. He might kill couple of them but that’s it.i'm not sure what to make of it now after those vids, i'm more interested now to find out what type of game it is rarther than playing it, i saw Indy knock out a German who dropped an MP40 and i thought instantly in 1st person view, pick it up and use it lol,
Agree about MS!.
That applies to his melee and whip as well, and he would last longer with a machine gun! and it's in relation to the game being 1st person and looks like a shooter without being a shooter, that's what you do in FPS games in 1st person!, i think it should of been a 3rd person game now if it's going for stealth and exploration with hardly any combat except melee and whip. But if the place is crawling with nazis if he would use that MP40 he would be found very quickly and probably shot on sight. He might kill couple of them but that’s it.
This review might help. It is specifically about what kind of game it is (at least from the writer's POV)i'm not sure what to make of it now after those vids, i'm more interested now to find out what type of game it is rarther than playing it, i saw Indy knock out a German who dropped an MP40 and i thought instantly in 1st person view, pick it up and use it lol,

The headline isn't good is it, i'll give it a read, cheers. This review might help. It is specifically about what kind of game it is (at least from the writer's POV)

After 3 hours with Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, I don't think it's the grand adventure MachineGames is pitching—it's just a fairly basic stealth game
It's visually impressive and made with a clear love for the movies, but its action feels surprisingly limited.www.pcgamer.com
I don’t think there’s a bigger forum troll than @Demigod. I wish the ignore worked on reactions too so I didn’t have to see his nonsense. The very sight of his name makes me gag. Depressing entity.
So basically what a lot of us have been saying the environments look good but it's basic stealth gameplay and no real excitement, so players might get bored after a while,This review might help. It is specifically about what kind of game it is (at least from the writer's POV)

Nobody is that much of a sad plonker except the man himself.

Poor framerate, poor AF, poor IQ (under also YT compression), controller prompts, lots of shadows pop-ins... This stinks Series X footage.Probably. Most likely this is PC footage anyway.
But at least they've confirmed 60fps modes on console already.
laugh all you want, the only thing that’s laughable is the first person combat here and it’s sad the usual crowd is of course defending it like it’s brilliant. Unsurprising
I am not talking about super powers and lightning bolts
Im talking about a relatively grounded combat system that’s punchy, involves crowds, good use of the whip and other environmental elements to provide a better gameplay experience
You wouldn’t have quoted me if your green feathers weren’t ruffled…Hehe, I'm not going to worry about what a ps fanboy thinks![]()

"There's a lot about The Great Circle that's impressive, especially its lush visuals, and though its sneaking is uneven, its little moments of chaos give it a distinct and charming personality. But the feeling I can't shake is that I'd rather be playing that adventure-action game MachineGames pitched than the stealth game compromise it's actually making"
