Neogaf is the best place to discuss games online. Period. Not crazy like the purple forum, not a bubble like Reddit where it's all about expressing the right opinions to get updoots, less cynical than 4Chan, and avoids the complete chaos of Discord servers.

3M unique monthly visitors is mind-blowing. Really curious who they are. Maybe people banned from GAF, devs, general lurkers, and people brought in from specific game-related Google searches.

I think the "great split" was inevitable. Some people are just not capable of existing in an "unsafe" space where differing opinions are allowed and the woke postmodern religion is fair game for criticism just like anything else.

Its total bullshit what they did to Evilore, but if it wasn't that, it would've been something else.

And it seems like something has massively changed even in the past year. We had to relearn the values of western post-enlightenment culture the hard way, and now the pendulum is swinging back at breakneck speed.

We survived the selection like a pro also. Barely a blip of political drama nonsense (that I saw anyhow).

Thanks for giving the community a great space to talk about pretty much whatever they want. With exception of a handful of less than enjoyable encounters, this community is awesome.

Really is a great community. Pretty balanced overall, good analysis and discussion without fear of having the "wrong" opinion and being cast out.

I try and make it a bit more positive since some people can be Debbie Downers on everything.

I've been following NeoGAF for many years, probably close to two decades. Back in the PS3/360/Wii gen, I used it as a reference to post on a site in my native language, so for a long time, I was just watching discussions. Only recently did I actually start posting as a user.

NeoGAF has been part of gaming culture for me, along with all the fun the gaming world brings, and I'm really glad it's still going strong, era after era.

I'm actually fine with it if it's nearly all guys here. The dynamic in a group of all guys (plus the rare lady who likes to talk shit with the guys and can dish it out and take it in return) is TOTALLY different from a mixed group. This place wouldn't be nearly as fun if we tried to make it into the latter.
