Thanks for making NeoGAF a great video game community

There is no perfect gaming forum these days for various reasons, but In the country of the blind the one-eyed forum is king. That said, NeoGAF is the best forum atm.
 
I don't always agree with everyone on here, but I really think NeoGaf is in a good spot right now, and I'm glad to be a part of it. Even when we don't see always eye to eye, we can still respect each other's views, and that's pretty awesome. Here's to good times ahead!
 
GAF is the best.

Lurked for 2 years in the 2000s and been a member for 14 and I look forward to 14 more!

Credit to you Evilore for keeping it going through the good and the tough times. Many would have thrown in the towel, but your perserverance has paid off!

Also to the mods old and new who keep this site in good shape.

The community here has always been hilarious, passionate and thoughtful which is why I stick with it.

It's the drama part I find myself trying very hard to avoid in all honesty. I just don't need the stress, and I am sure a lot of others do not as well. I won't block users here, but in the last week or two, the ignore topic button has been getting a workout. I still like being here though. Ya'll are good people. God bless ya.

It's all the weird, nerdy, grown men with lives should not be worrying about this, culture war stuff lately that got to me. Thankfully most of it seems to have bled off the front page.

Anyways, it's nice that an old school forum like this still exists.
 
I feel like I'm a relatively newer user, but I gotta say, I really appreciate the relative freedom people have here. I know that can sometimes lead to some testy discussions, and I'm sure there are occasionally bad actors, but considering most platforms for discussion are HEAVILY moderated these days (and only getting worse), I think Neogaf is invaluable. In fact, I genuinely can't think of another platform people can have honest discussion about games, particularly as many of them become more politically charged (which isn't inherently a bad thing, just a sign of the times).

So… good on you guys for keeping the place a good space for open discussion, even on touchy subjects.
 
Places where people can have actual conversations regardless of leaning are rare nowadays. Visited neogaf since the doors swung open, basically, and this keeps being one of my goto places.

Getting rid of the politics forum and banning political discussion was a great, and I'm sure difficult decision.
There are a billion places to scream at each other over politics, on the internet and in the real world, it's nice to have a place where that crap isn't shoehorned into 90% of the threads.

I think a great testament is checking out the ban page.

I feel that, on the gaming side it's quite rare to see bans now.

I, personally take that as the regulars here are respectful of each other and are following the rules as best they can...ain't that right Ass of Can Whooping Ass of Can Whooping .
 
Neogaf deserve it.
It's the only place you can discuss freely without a fasc** or despotic moderation that ban you because you don't follow an agenda.

I'm french and here since 2007 and never regret to be a part of the forum.

That is bad in and of itself.

The huge loss in quality of said games, in a lot of ways, is the worst offender.
 
That reminded me, I've been meaning to get gold, just tried several times now, and I keep getting the message "an unexpected error occurred" EviLore EviLore so something seems broken with sign up. Am in UK and have tried via both MacBook and iPhone. As a side note, as someone who owns a subscription business, the funnel for gold and payment UX/UI is pretty poor, I would imagine you're losing quite a few sign ups (regardless of the payment function being broken🤣). I'd also consider adding a "gold" button to the main top navigation bar. Just my 2 cents :)

We did have a Gold signup bug that was fixed the other day, so let me know if the error persists.

This was 5 mins ago after reading your post, it prompted me to pay 🤣. I tried via 'link' with both, and tried manually. Same error. Would be good to add an Apple Pay button too, makes it super convenient for Apple users.

Hmm, it looks like new subs through stripe/link might actually be broken, yes. Didn't notice since gifts were still going through and no one had mentioned. Thanks for letting me know, will get it fixed.
 
Actually, thank you, EviLore EviLore , for providing a place where we can freely discuss video games. Moderation is a very difficult balancing act. You and your team are doing a great job of it.
