I’m actually fine with it if it’s nearly all guys here. The dynamic in a group of all guys (plus the rare lady who likes to talk shit with the guys and can dish it out and take it in return) is TOTALLY different from a mixed group. This place wouldn’t be nearly as fun if we tried to make it into the latter.

There are a few girls here. And I try to make them feel awkward when I find them.

New here but been reading for a while.
Informative, easy to find stuff and good conversations including important ones I missed out on such as "Redhead Appreciation Thread", though it was watched from afar.

Thanks for having me. And congrats on the landmark.

Been a member since 2012 and yeah, the community has never been better imo.

It's nice to know that even when I make a 100% regarded post (which I've done, and probably will from time to time I'm not perfect), I'll get called on my shit yeah, but I don't have to worry about getting banned. And, of course, having the freedom to call other people out as well is nice 😅.

There's just a lot of great folks on here, in general.
Love this place, happy to be a member 😊.

Yeah, everyone got together to try to ruin my life and reputation, which had permanent repercussions not just for myself but everyone who was relying on me. And the community I had spent my entire life building and keeping independent and away from dirty industry influence was stolen and then sold off to a corporation for a large sum of money shortly thereafter.

Challenges build character, though! Gotta keep moving forward no matter what.
It's bonkers to me this fact is just a blip on the radar at the other place.

The inciting incident that original brought this place to its knees itself was a complete He said/she said situation with no proof.

But in the aftermath the fuckin guy that rallied everyone to make a new website, sold it off for life changing money that nobody else got a cut of.

I'm happy GAF persevered the exodus and now is thriving, and good on you Evi for keeping it together. Not having to feel like walking on eggshells is great, back then you never knew what mentally challenged individual you'd offend by posting something off the cuff. It's without a doubt a better forum now, sorry it came at some personal cost to you back when shit hit the fan.

On this particular note I'd like to do something that I think nobody here would disagree with, and wholeheartedly thank John Marston John Marston for his ongoing generosity towards GAF members.
I couldn't agree more. I definitely appreciate his generosity.

I've loved GAF, and I'll always love GAF. I think it's awesome to post/visit a forum with folks that share different views and opinions, but all love games. It gives real world vibes, and I've always appreciated that about it.

I will add my voice to the shout outs to John Marston John Marston and his generosity. GAF is a place I visit daily. I usually don't post much, but it's true that, for the most part, it's one of the nicest forums you can read, especially in regards to videogames. And I hope it keeps growing and climbing up for many more years to come :D

I just joined recently during the abk trial. I’ve enjoyed the community here even if they can be a bit overly negative sometimes. Glad to hear the site is doing well.

Congrats on the great achievement and hopefully the good times will continue to roll! As others have said, it must've been a huge challenge to continue after that shitstorm. I joined GAF literally a week or two before the nuclear bomb, was a long time lurker but never got around to joining because as I remember you couldn't use public mail providers and I couldn't use my work or isp mail for reasons unknown. But finally I did and it blew up , couldn't believe how fast things went, almost like it was planned in advance, there was another place up and running immediately. It truly was/is a huge robbery. If I was a moron, I could almost admire it, some low lifers becoming millionaires overnight. Damn.
Anyway, I joined there as well but I just saw what that place really is - a political/agenda driven echo chamber. I still have an account there but I'm not even visiting the site.

Keep up the good work, we need this place to exist.

Seems it’s fixed now :)
We were working on it, but hadn't confirmed that it was fixed 100% yet. Seems it is. Thanks for supporting the site!

The whole thing was a scam. Perfect timing with the mass hysteria and witch hunts going around in 2017.

But, long time ago now. I prefer to move forward rather than dwelling on the past. And, facing forward, I see a great community of reasoned, articulate, fun people that continues to grow, when many other forums have closed down.

My team and I will keep at it.
