imagine calling steam the pricey one when you mentioned apple earlier....who else the Vr headset from apple?
Steams pricy as fuck one?
There is no real big competition
Flatscreen console gaming is mostly solved now. You either get a Playstation or a Switch. Nobody's gonna give time to a new competitor when the 2 established platforms have proven themselves through 40+ years of innovation and hits.
flatscreen console gaming. steam is not a consoleBro forgot Steam for flatscreen gaming.
Valve will come back- with all the leaks it's inevitable. It's just that they should get around to doing it sooner than later. Quest 3 is very tempting, the only thing it lacks is eye tracking and OLED....I just hope somebody else joins in properly before VR really takes off
Yes, if you have $5-10 billion to lose yearly, you too can "conquer" VR.
All I got is this ( Which they did & it worked out great)The only person I can think of who would've thought that is onQ123.
Porn, fitness, short game experiences, some VR chat sort of shit I imagine. Was gonna say. The other companies aren't stupid.
And I imagine the main use is porn.

Now imagine when it gets to the point where its a handful of people that just make games cuz they love them like it was the case back in '04?Most VR games look like they were made by one or two devs in their basement.
I think finding a niche within VR is a hell of a lot smarter than going into a market dominated by 2 longtime forces and expecting to become a mainstay. Was gonna say. The other companies aren't stupid.
Much preferred to committee designed AAA games tbhMost VR games look like they were made by one or two devs in their basement.

This topic madee want to check in which pace Facebook endeavors are and, well ...
Smarter to the tune of losing $billions every year? I mean sure Apple or Google could pull that off as well, but why would they?I think finding a niche within VR is a hell of a lot smarter than going into a market dominated by 2 longtime forces and expecting to become a mainstay.
He is doing what no one else will, to bring VR forward.Yes, if you have $5-10 billion to lose yearly, you too can "conquer" VR.

Yeah and 99% of them will sit in a box collecting dust within 6 months. That's not how you become a threat for the rest of the industry. You realize that Quest is one of the go to Christmas gifts now for the last few Christmas ?

They aren't a threat to anyone except those who try to enter the VR market. People buy vr headsets to get a new experience, doesn't mean anything except lots of sold headsets. They was a threat before they ever sold one device. Now they're selling just as well or better than Xbox Series consoles & left PSVR2 & PSVR2 in the dust.
By the way I didn't mean a threat as they was going to take out the big 3 but a threat as in one of these companies was going to jump in & become a big part of the mix. Everyone knew these big companies was coming.
Ok but a threat to the Big 3 it isn't. Otherwise Apple and the iPhone and Samsung with Galaxy is a bigger threat, making your title wrong. You realize that Quest is one of the go to Christmas gifts now for the last few Christmas ?
