Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?

Artistically, gorgeous.

Also subject matter and regional folklore that we don't really see much of in games.

The only game I can think off the top of my mind that tackles southern US themes is Deadly Premonition 2 ... and that game was fucking abysmal as both a game and a sequel to one of my favorite games of all time.

I'm not going to criticize someone wanting to make a piece of art that they want to make. Everyone is entitled to self expression.

However, I'm just saying, I hope they budgeted themselves accordingly, because I don't think there's a significant enough audience that would be interested in this game. They're definitely going to be relying on the "modern audience" which has proven to be far smaller than many games devs and games journalists think or want.

I got a serious question for you man, don't take this the wrong way. But why the fuck do you even bother reposting this stuff in every one of South of Midnight threads?

Clearly you have no interest in the game itself, why waste your time or energy? 🤔

Cause I don't like Sweet Baby Inc and racists, is that too hard for your smooth brain to get? Don't worry I'll let you enjoy this in the OT in peace.

Understandable, might not be everyone's cup of tea.

But damn if it doesn't look like a gorgeous artistic piece.
It really captures that vibe perfectly. I have relatives in New Orleans and it's just got that "feel" of a lot of places and culture around there. They definitely nailed it.

This game has a weird way of marketing itself. If you saw the recent gameplay clips, it seems to move nice and smooth like any other game. But when you see their YT promo clips, they like to do that choppy slow mo thing trying to make it like a claymation or stop motion game. I dont think the real game would have those scenes playing at 10 fps like that. But they keep doing it. Or maybe I'm wrong and some scenes are like that?

Would gaming even be around today, if not for white male gamers. Like isn't that the primary demographic 20-30 years ago.
There would be hardly any games.

Look at every office lobby photo of the dev teams. Asian studios are literally 100% Asian people, so you'd still get Asian influenced games from that region. But every other studio with a splashy corporate photo is almost all White people and mostly guys. For whatever reason, it's an industry that's practically all white and asian making the products. And hardly any brown skinned people.

I guess it's no different than anything else; you get morons who jump on board late in the game [due to popularity], do the typical poser schtick, and insult the true OGs.

I don't intend on playing this game, but I will say that this did pique some interest where prior showings left nothing to be desired. If it reviews well with users as I don't trust critic opinion on this, I'll check it out.

Like the clay look and neverending story vibe with some of the creatures and stuff except they also went for the fortnite stylization for the characters, wtf.
