Love sliders. The more options, the better.

Also, there has to be a Dead Simple arena in Dark Ages.

Love hearing him call this game a three dimensional shmup like classic Doom. You can slow projectiles down and make them super deadly for a fun risk/reward experience. Pretty neat tbh.

Slider is nice, I like to crank up all difficultirs but leave the parry window to a moderate level, I found it to be my sweet spot.

Doom has always had difficulty settings so this is just a more granular system which I don't have a problem with. And I say this as someone who grew up playing the originals and as someone who doesn't really care for 2016/Eternal.

Hey, man!

The 1st, I agree, I just couldnt see the appeal, it was stiff as hell and looked tripe. The 3rd? Generic. The 2nd, not bad at all for back then..

I think the premise of the series is pretty interesting but I just don't think Insomniac is a natural fit as the serious tone kind of saps the charm from their creativity. I'll never forgive the first game for snapping to ADS which seemed like such an archaic method to achieve this. Truth be told, I don't remember much about the second or third entries.

These idiots are going to overuse 'woke' to the point it's going to lose any meaning, and any of its power to influence content/dialogue. Similar to the way they ran the phrase 'fake news' into the ground.

And the thing that pisses me off the most about that is that it's going to happen before anyone can succinctly explain to me wtf woke is.

They are just shit scared that FPS players might not enjoy or be good at parry.

Thats why the sliders.

I mean, I will have to spend weeks messing with it to feel good. Probably will just leave it at default.

Sliders are a good thing for hardcore players. I appreciate them a lot... In Starfield, it made my experience much better. I wanted deadly physical combat, so I cranked my damage and the AI's damage. But for the ship combat, I wanted things to be super slow, so I made both me and the AI deal almost no damage.

Too bad there were no options for the AI, like in Dishonored.

I don't get why people got upset about this.
Doom has always had multiple difficulty options, the easiest one has always been fairly easy.
As long as the predefined difficulties are well balanced I don't see the issue with giving further customization options for those who want it.

Shit thats actually a brilliant idea.
I think im gonna try it out when this comes out.

Make the game super fast.
Increase enemy difficulty.
Slow down the projectiles.
Increase damage from projectiles to absolutely punishing.

Good choice, it's always good to let players adapt the game to their preferences.

I find retarded and childish to complain because devs allowed players to select or fine tune difficulty.

To don't allow players to select difficulty is bad for both devs and players, because it reduces the amount of people who will enjoy the game. So potential worse reviews and word of mouth, so potential worse sales which means potential less chances of getting less future sequels or budget.

Now if we can only get them to STOP making multiplayer trophies count towards a platinum.......the only trophies im missing in Doom Eternal for the plat are multiplayer ones. Unrelated, but the same for Bloodborne!

There were definitely people NOT joking about the whole "woke" thing. People were flipping on X/Reddit (big surprise) and basically saying that they're soft for adding sliders and what not. It's wild, just more proof that people will get their undies in a bunch over everything and nothing.

There are sliders, you don't have to adjust things to make them easier, but if you want to, you can. How has that ever been a bad thing? More options are good.

I'm a huge DOOM fan, always have been. But I really am excited about them leaning more towards DOOM and 2016 than Eternal. I enjoyed Eternal for what it was, but there were definitely things about it that I would've changed personally.

If it's going to be a "slider" instead of just easy/default/extra, I'd rather they actually give it some kind of meta risk-reward structure.

The only game I remember that did this well was Kid Icarus: Uprising. On every level, you'd "bid" with a difficulty selection, increasing the potential rewards and risks if you bid higher.

I didn't realize he trained BJJ until just now. When he brought up the white belt/Black belt comment I looked into it and apparently he trains. That's awesome to hear.

I hate games with accessibility settings and no hard mode trophy.
I simply ignore them or do one playthrough and I'm done with them and then I go back to my favorite challenging, rewarding, well designed games.

I fear that the next Housemarque game will be worthless because Sony will demand those settings.

I do wish more games would have a hard trophy. I don't outright skip games without it but I do kind of get bummed out about it.
