in my country the asus 5090 astral is around $3500 and there are only 2 of them in that store, to me seams a good deal cuz if i somehow buy one online and imported myself it would be like 100 bucks more expensive, its a shame i dont have that kinda money to waste like that hahaha.

Europe is still fucked with 50-series prices. Cheapest 5070 TIs start around 1100 at retail websites
To be fair, in US if a 5070Ti actually drops, it goes for $900-1000 before tax (still immediately sells out). So €1100 in EU is broadly similar in pricing once you throw in VAT.

That's still an awful price for this GPU whether in US, EU or AU.

Interested to see what NVIDIA says at their partner day next week in the UK. I'll try and share what I can if I hear anything from friends.
"Higher MSRP is good for customers. The more you buy, the more you save!" - From the Leather Jacket Man himself! 😉

Edit: I can just Jensen going with "Let them eat cake" approach. Which worked amazingly well in France circa late 1700s. 🇫🇷

I've been seeing some pricedrops now. Especially the SFF model can sometimes dip below €1000 (mostly in Germany). I would be ok to pay around 900, but dont know if that will happen soon.

Managed to snatch a 9070XT Asrock Taichi for €811 in the meantime. It had a delivery time of 4+ weeks, but for that price im ok with that. Also this was after the price hikes of the same model to €1000+.

Might cancel though if I find a 5070 ti for a reasonable price as I would prefer DLSS and better raytracing

That's a pretty good deal. Looking at the latest numbers the cards are pretty close depending on a game.

UK is arguably a little cheaper currently on the lowest priced 5070 ti models around in stock at £835-£840 inc VAT, so in dollar terms that's $1085, and in Euro terms, that's €970. Still £300 more than they are worth IMO, but maybe a sign of slowing sales on the Nvidia side.

AMD 9070XT in stock there was only 1 model at £770 inc VAT which would be $1000, and €895 including tax

It's safe to save now.
Yup, got whole new platform this month, 9800x3d, 64gigs of ddr5, 1000W platinum rated psu, new tower, 420mm aio 2 fast ssds but still using my trusty 3080ti from middle of 2021 coz dont see any potential gpu upgrade, 5090 in my country starts from 4k usd, and top models with water cooling are at 5k usd. Gonna wait till we either get properly priced 5080ti with at least 20gigs of vram or waiting 2 more years till 60xx series which hopefully is finally on 3nm node and isnt so powerhungry...

That's not bad all in all since it basically includes 20% VAT. In US anecdotally I have seen more 5080s (and 5070s) recently vs 5070Ti, but 5080s usually go for $1400-1500 not including tax… which is completely crazy.

In the Uk from people like Scan and Overclockers there are non-ti 5070 variants much cheaper around £630 inc VAT, and non-XT 9070 around £590 inc VAT IIRC.

edit:
Cheapest RTX 5080 in stock and including VAT is £1160 or there's a £1250 one in stock at Overclockers., so a big leap up in price from £840 for the 5070 ti

I would have been tempted over 5070Ti considering VAT is included, but not worth it if you can get 70Ti for £840!

Nvidia France (via LDLC) just had a batch of FE 5090, 5080 and 5070, thanks to https://notify-fe.plen.io I could get a 5090 FE at the new price (2239 €), it stayed up for 5 minutes.

It's paid by my boss (such as the 4090 FE I currently have), it will go in my gaming rig at home, and the 4090 will go in my work PC to replace a 3070.
I use my home PC more (mostly gaming) and do some 3D at work so my boss is okay, but I remotely connect to my home PC when I have big renders to do as it's faster.

I'll triple check the cables with my thermal camera when it's under load 😅
