part of the game will follow a group of new characters holding out against the infected in an old Victorian house.

In addition to Val and Mason, the leak mentions three characters named Gracie, Ezra, and Lucas, the latter of whom reportedly forms a relationship with another character and has a dark turn

I would have liked to have played as Joel, maybe right after the prologue, but getting to know completely new characters feels like a better way to expand on the world of TLoU.

A 'leaker' hiding things behind a patreon post just proves to me that this is fake. He has to provide controversial or supposed good leaks to his patreon supporters to keep the support coming or else he'll lose funding. He'll throw anything out there with 0 proof just to keep said patrons happy. Fake af.

Well one thing that's new to me is that I've heard nothing of a part 3. Also the leak talks about the location and the characters.

Of course, nothing is confirmed yet so you should take it with a fistful of salt.

Developers say all kinds of things. Considering how hot the IP is right now I think they'd be crazy to not create more games in the series.

We're just getting more and more leakers. Doesn't matter if they're "reputable" or not. At this point it could be anyone so always take everything with a grain of salt, lol.

DanielRPK has made shit up or shared things that have been almost immediately debunked before. He is not a 'reliable' leaker.

There may be a new TLoU game being made, but the only actual update we have on the franchise is from the guy who created the whole thing and runs the studio that makes it. His exact words were
“I guess the only thing I would say is don’t bet on there being more of The Last of Us. This could be it.”

It doesn't mean they aren't planning a third game. It just means that nothing is certain, like with the TLoU Online game they were developing. Sony might cut funding at any point.

Not when the head of the team tells you not to bet on more of the Last of us.

maybe one day but i highly doubt anything will come in the next 3 to 5 years minimum.

In spite of all the controversy and, indeed, poor character and story choices in this franchise, I still love it. No game has captivated my imagination and enticed me to stay in its world quite like TLoU.

Bring on #3.

He also insinuated the opposite last year. I think it's years away, and probably still in planning phase though.

Make Ellie, Dina, Abby, and her little abomination die near the beginning of the game in a anticlimactic and hilarious way. And the main characters would be someone that's similar to Joel and Tess.

A new setting and characters would be the right choice. I'd set it 20-30 years in the future with a new faction of people immune to the virus.

It would be great that someone that developed games would take that position from Hulst. He was a great Studio Director when he was at Guerilla.
Neil Druckman is kind of the brink of quitting games after Intergalactic, he will probably have another game after this one and he will quit all the signals are there, I hope Anthony Newman is named president of ND after Neil quits.

It all depends on expectations. IMO it's naive to believe that Intergalactic will sell anything near TLOU. It's a massive gamble on a genre that's not ND's expertise.

We will see, it's not naive, it's expected. Since their games have not been bad and we have only seen a 2 minutes trailer with no gameplay at all.
