After I finished Octopath Traveler 1 and made a thread here, I just downloaded OT2 to set it up on my gamepass PC for future play. As I was doing my first launch config in the settings I was listening to the OST and vibing to the massive goosebumps it was giving me with its magnanimity and awesomeness. After going back to the menu from the setting having heard it about 2.5 times I saw the [RT Change Time] prompt on the bottom right.
I pressed the button. There was a chime. The screen cinematic instantly faded to night time while still going. The music that was a bombastic orchestra turned into a soft nostalgic lullaby of piano, chimes and hums over a short fade..I had no clue this game had night time......
This is by far one of the most beautiful (both musically and artistically) additions I've seen added to a game. This OST now officially sits in my top 10 GOATs. Both versions.
Fuck me I don't think my heart can handle this game if the menu alone made my eyes moist.
PS: Tha game is only 7gb. Download it on gamepass if you care to experience what I experienced.
