Love the forum love the community love the freedom of speech but beside not respecting others poster anything gaming related can get you ban?

I don't think anything gaming related gets you a ban. But it's bit of an echo chamber. If game isn't linear single player game preferably made by sony, it does not gain ton of traction and mostly nay sayers.

Nah, we've had many cool threads about games that aren't Sony first parties, like the POE2 thread or the SMT V one.

I don't think anyone got banned in the recent threads debating the validity of rape simulators being appropriate for Steam.

Based on that, just stay away from viscous personal attacks, overt racism, and political radicalism and I think you'll be fine.

I was wondering if there was a thread somewhere that lists banned source material / users on here. But I don't think there is.

I know on the purple side has people commenting from time to time that x guy is a banned source and their content is not allowed, yet there's no actual list to see who you can/can't talk about.

That would be convenient

Being a Sonic fan should be considered a capital offense.

[If loving Sonic is wrong] I don't want to be right

I think there are no subjetc per say, but being wildly obnoxious (not just obnoxious) and incapable to understand when to let go and stop posting for a while is what gets you banned.

Yeah I use this list. But it just shows who got banned and sometimes for what reason.

Maybe an unreliable source list of some kind but I don't really see that ever being a topic of discussion, so probably fine as is.

This is a question for the mods. You're better off tagging them or sending a direct message because they barely post anymore.

My bad i did not really understood what you were asking for at first :messenger_grinning_sweat:
I don't think there are sources that get you insta banned like at resetera, because no one here is so frail of mind that they need to preemptively censor anything (thank god).

Nope is because we have topic where people talk about pirating games and I was wondering why on a gaming it's ok

Article:
D. Emulation/Piracy The topics of emulation and piracy in the context of the technical nature of emulators and ROM images, hardware modification technology, as well as their effect on the industry as a political topic are deemed to be generally acceptable. Linking to pirate download sites, directions on how to get pirated software to work, reviews or impressions of pirated software, and livestreams of pirated software play are all strictly prohibited.

I guess it helps if the thread is less of a bait then the last one. 😋 Personally I love the managed-chaos approach the mods got going on this site.

Trolling, console warring, and piracy topics are off the table, understandably. Keep in mind that GAF mods have a high tolerance, so if you get banned, you must have really crossed the line.

Insolent Insolent GITT to tell us your secret how not to get ban!
From what i could gather, you need the ability to burn asses

Moral of the story :
You won't be banned if you are Kanye West (even if you forgot to take your meds before creating a thread).

I got a warning and post deleted for mentioning something gaming related in Neogafs past - so obviously I am not going to mention it again here.
But yes there are some things you can't or shouldn't mention.

Knack is a masterpiece.

Kojima is overrated.

Sonic's best game was '06.

You can't "promote" piracy, afaik. Was he/she doing this?

Yeah, he was. His argument was that piracy is the best way to enjoy modern PC games, and that the lack of physical game releases on PC not only incentives piracy, but down right forces consumers to participate in it.

Also, Nintendo games should be pirated, because they are, to quote him: Nintendo.

He was more like a pissed off teenager threatening his parents with running away and doing illegal stuff because they did not want to do things the way he wants them to.
I mean i hope he won't get retroactively banned because of this thread...

He is still my my son i love him even though i don't understand him and cannot reach him anymore since his dad left us for some younger guy.

Promoting in the sense of pointing/linking to pirated content. Being a pirate everyone is at some point. Or someone never has/had a single illegal mp3?? 🤷‍♂️

Promoting it in the sense of... promoting it. Singing it's praises over the alternative of supporting games financially.

I seriously doubt anyone on this forum is innocent of enjoying copywritten content for free at some point, but that particular thread pushed the limits of good taste, with the OP insulting the sensibilities of anyone who would disagree that piracy is an absolute right in the face of digital only content.

I'm sure you've seen it, so I'm not sure what the continued questions are supposed to accomplish. The mods saw it, and locked it, so clearly they didn't consider the OP to be in violation of the piracy policy, but it has got to be as close to the edge as you can come.
