The Elder Scrolls Oblivion Remastered is Available Today on PC, Xbox Series X|S, PS5 and Game Pass

Looks both super dated and quite modern at the same time. Cool, probably the best way to go 🙂

I'm super excited but in no rush, so I'll wait to see if there will be some cool mods.

Yay, It's been forever and day since I played Oblivion on the XB360. Console lifetime ago.
I'll download it on PC Gamepass and poke around. I'm still deep into Avowed.

Looks better than I expected.
Not a day 1 purchase but I'll put it on the wishlist for when it's on sale.

Can't decide to buy this for the Pro or play it through Gamepass on my Series X.

This being a big open world UE5 game I'd go with the pro because it will likely look/run like crap on base systems if you go with performance mode (assuming there even is one).

I can see the game on Steam now for £49.99 here in the UK with a £59.99 Deluxe Edition but still cannot see the game listed on the PS Store for the PS5.

Does anyone have the UK link, please?

*EDIT*
Is the game only listed on the PS5 Store to buy and not the website?

The Series X is Microsoft's Pro console. The Series S is the base.

I'm almost tempted to just buy the standard edition as the background art looks better.

This looks great. I just looked at the steam link. Is the DLC on included in the base version or only the deluxe?

This is on the Steam page. It's weird because the DLC is listed under a perk for deluxe, but comparing editions, DLC (outside of horse armor and such) is also listed in base.

Are you people happy about anything?
I would have been happy if it was Morrowind. I don't need to play this severely downgraded version of TES all over again and remind myself how much better Morrowind still is. No amount of modern GFX will make it better, unfortunately.

It's like, imagine if someone out of nowhere decided to remake Deus Ex: Invisible War instead of remaking the first game. Oh well, I guess only people who've played Morrowind and experienced the best TES game in existance (visuals and primitive combat by today's standards aside) will actually understand why I'm not happy about this Remake to say the least.

In a world where Sony charged $70/£70 for the Demon's Souls remake, this is steal. And it's included in Game Pass.
Tbf, all console companies charge so much for games. Microsoft have been charging £60-70 for games for a long time now on PC, and its obvious its to help push gamepass sales so you feel like you are getting a deal.

Thankfully on PC there are third party options and we aren't locked to one store.

I've just bought it on PC for 50eu, waddaya even talking about?

That being said, it's called Remaster and not a Remake for a reason.

ok. The point is that a lot of notable changes have been made to progression, the game's UI and UX experience and game play mechanics.

This is not just the same code running with a UE5 visual overhaul.

Oblivion side quests legit put to shame even the Skyrim main quest.

To be fair, even Skyrim's side content like The Dark Brotherhood puts the main quest to shame :messenger_grinning_sweat:

It's why you always start it, get as far as the 1000 steps and then forget about it for 200 hours.

Alright man.....we get it. Some of us here are excited about this though.

I never played Oblivion. I'm waiting to see if this is a great game based on nostalgia or if it's a great game in the year 2025. Gameplay mechanics I'm sure need a massive overhaul for this to be great

Oh I fully beliebe that they've at least tweaked the game with popular mods like OOO.

But 10 minutes in and I can feel the Gamebryo legacy code running in the backend. Even the char creator is limited by the basic meshes (though it's very hard to create true horror).

Many thanks for that. Now purchased for PS5 Pro. 5 minutes to go...

Fuck man, I was so impatient I could not wait for it to show up on PSN, so I bought it on Xbox. Meanwhile it showed up on PSN so I bought it there and asked for a refund on Xbox.
