Probably so…but let's be real…these fuckers we're looking for a reason, and it just happened to fall into their lap.Pretty sure this is the US president's fault, not Microsoft. People voted, people got results.
It's not very opportunistc on the hardware side, If anything this will just further kill it. People were already barely buying it, now that it's more expensive people aren't gonna be thinking now is the time to buy.Bro. This is an opportunistic play. Stop falling for that talking point here.
They just announced record revenue yesterday and even admitted that they made cost cutting measures to boot.
Let it go.
Quoted for truth. It really is.Worst era in gaming.
Lol we are in unprecedented times now.
Lol we are in unprecedented times now.
Lol we are in unprecedented times now.
Lol I have zero clue.Is he trying to start shilling for Sony when the pain of multi platform Xbox is still raw for him?
Microsoft barely gave their shills time to gloat about their semi-decent financial results lol. That's actually really funny.
Pepperidge Farms remembersremember when consoles weren't overpriced?
those were the times...
Nah, but I get it goes to $850 within the next 2 or 3 weeks.Made the right call, probably considering Sony will be increasing the price of that thing to $999
I will say that buying my PS5 Pro has been an excellent investment.Made the right call, probably considering Sony will be increasing the price of that thing to $999
Nah, but I get it goes to $850 within the next 2 or 3 weeks.
For real they think pc parts are immune to tarriffs.. also see so many pc people spend big on gpu then get a cheapo no name $20 psu and wonder why shit don't work properly.Wait until you have to pay $300 for a PC case.
People think PCs are just GPUs and nothing else lol.
Everything is going up because of tariffs. The consumer does not win in a trade war.For real they think pc parts are immune to tarriffs.. also see so many pc people spend big on gpu then get a cheapo no name $20 psu and wonder why shit don't work properly.
They were taking a $100-$120 hit on every console sold. It wasn't worth it for them since they weren't selling hardware or software enough on their own platform. It's not very opportunistc on the hardware side, If anything this will just further kill it. People were already barely buying it, now that it's more expensive people aren't gonna be thinking now is the time to buy.
On the software side it's more opportunistic.
Overall, both capitalistic greed for infinite growth and tariffs are at play.
so, tariffs down, prices drop?Everything is going up because of tariffs. The consumer does not win in a trade war.
Ok, so Sony raised their PS5 hardware prices two weeks ago. Does that tell you Sony doesn't have faith in PlayStation 5 hardware? If they're unwilling to subsidize the rising costs of manufacturing + development, that tells me they truly don't have faith in Xbox hardware making a comeback.
Disaster of a gen for them.
Motherboards and system ram can add a ton of extra cost, not to mention a proper fast NVME SSD.
so, tariffs down, prices drop?
Time to start digging up the bangers the shills posted during the ABK saga.
First up is Jez Corden telling us Microsoft might reduce COD back to $60 if they get ABK. Somehow this aged worse than all of his other pieces put together rofl.
No. Context matters.Ok, so Sony raised their PS5 hardware prices two weeks ago. Does that tell you Sony doesn't have faith in PlayStation 5 hardware?

I platinumed age of mythology in march on ps5. It's easy enough. My admiration for your dedication to playing AoE on console will remain intact.
... This hike tells me they've run the numbers, and they don't see them getting better.
... both those these posts don't make any sense, frankly. If Xbox raising its hardware prices is a sign of Xbox admitting its hardware performance sucks, then PlayStation raising PS5 hardware prices two weeks ago must also be the same. If anyone could absorb the cost, it would be the gaming company currently having its most profitable console generation ever, rather than one who hasn't declared profit figures in nearly 10 years because, frankly, they're probably small enough to warrant hiding. Not seeing the logic, folks.... If Microsoft as a business really saw any degree of importance in continuing to attempt to sell Xbox hardware then they would take the hit, they can more than afford it, especially given the paltry sales. If you're not seeing what the message is here, then really, you never will.

So, not following your logic means I actually follow it perfectly, but I'm electing to run a narrative, for some reason. Ok, I'll leave you be. Have fun. You're not seeing the logic because you don't want to...

"that $699 thing"

I have a hard time seeing Sony raise the price on the PS5 Pro given those machines are designed to be high margin, low volume consoles, unlike the standard PS5 which sells at a loss.No one buys this shit anyway.
No one buys their games either. All on gamepass.
This affects nothing.
But it does mean Sony is about to do the same and actually affect people who spend money.![]()
No. But tariffs going away likely means an end to this price inflation.so, tariffs down, prices drop?
Yeppp. The best console experience for GTA 6. And the next Halo game, the next Forza game, the next Gears game, etc.
Microsoft didn't do any kind of holiday discounting etc in 2024. They are also the 1st company to do any kind of price increase in the US, at least to my knowledge (Sony has raised prices in multiple regions multiple times this gen, but almost never on the US).... both those these posts don't make any sense, frankly. If Xbox raising its hardware prices is a sign of Xbox admitting its hardware performance sucks, then PlayStation raising PS5 hardware prices two weeks ago must also be the same. Holy false equivalence.
Sony and Nintendo have the luxury of pricing power when it comes to their hardware.
In their current predicament, Xbox do not. May I also remind you that Xbox are under the Microsoft umbrella, a business who just reported a profit of $25.8 billion for the quarter.
If Microsoft as a business really saw any degree of importance in continuing to attempt to sell Xbox hardware then they would take the hit, they can more than afford it, especially given the paltry sales. If you're not seeing what the message is here, then really, you never will.
It's not just the tariffs. It's a devaluation of the currency, especially as it relates to technology. This is global..and no, it has nothing to do with Nintendo.Probably so…but let's be real…these fuckers we're looking for a reason, and it just happened to fall into their lap.
I am legit tempted to get the PS5 Pro since I can probably sell PS5 for more in a few weeks.
Not selling my XSX since I have a ton of BC and Xbox One games on it.
Lol we are in unprecedented times now.
Thats crazy, but tariffs will do that.
No price increase in Canada yet
Your post inspired me to do a little reading on pricing power and, yeah, MS definitely has low pricing power in this area. It may work out for certain games (CoD, for example) and possibly accessories (particularly controllers since many people prefer their version), but it won't for consoles. There's no way MS doesn't understand this either.
