FF7R Intergrade PS5 vs Switch 2 comparison video

The fact that you can even compare this to the PS5 version let alone a PS4 Pro is really impressive for the Switch 2
Yeah this is bizarre, it's smashing all my expectations.

Now we only need Nintendo's artists to time travel to 2025 so we get high quality visuals in their games as well. Right now it's 3rd party devs that show what the system is capable of.

You guys are arguing over a PS5 port vs a SWITCH 2.

Either way the switch 2 wins on that alone. 😂

It's just sad insecurity from fans of other systems who can't accept that a handheld can even compete in any form. I was under the impression that most posters here were grown adults, but I'm starting to think maybe not so much. Not really this thread, but the general behavior of the forum as a whole lately.

Looks great on Switch 2.
Don't know how it will run and look in motion but at least on some of the screenshots I've seen of various games it seems like Switch 2 will have superb image quality, which is nice as that is one of my main issues with the Switch 1 (I don't mind the dated graphics but a lot of games just look blurry as fuck on a big TV).

How did Nintendo manage to get Ff7 but not MS?

Sony clearly cares more about keeping stuff from Xbox than Switch or PC (as seen in stuff like them releasing Lego Horizon and being ok with licensing out Freedom Wars and Patapon to be released on Switch and PC but not Xbox).
So whatever exclusivity deal they have going on with Square might just have stricter limitations for releasing on Xbox than other platforms.

They can't do nothing to prevent third party's launching their games on Nintendo platforms, the user base is to massive to ignore, now with the Switch 2 fixing the hardware capabilities issues from the Switch 1, it's going to be fun to watch…

mostly third parties in troubles need nintendos im sorry my friends

They have exclusivity contracts with third parties.
Same reason Shin Megami Tensei V didn't come out on platforms besides the Switch for a few years or how Ghostwire and Deathloop launched as Ps5 exclusives despite technically being owned by Microsoft at the time.

Since Sony don't care as much about other platforms aside from Xbox it wouldn't be weird for the exclusivity contract of 7 remake to be something like:
"Don't release for 10 years on Xbox and 1 year on other platforms"

For Square didn't work well, indeed it was so bad that they don't want to make any FF exclusive anymore, things have changed. Not saying it's going to be some cases.

Wait until you see DF pulling out their 400X ZOOM weapon to "prove" their point 😂😂

Watching Spy Kids GIF

But they couldn't tell it was DLSS for 3 weeks, three weeks! Totally blindsided.

DF used to be good when games were raw and they started their business with pixel counting and framerate graphs but nowadays its nearly irrelevant.

Brazil Pixel has beaten them in tech with dynamic resolution scaling mapping

they told people what the exclusivity period was from the start, the rest was on SE if they wanted to release it. This isn't the case for SMT5 and some other Switch games where Nintendo had the publishing rights in a certain regions.

I just don't understand it. Is it some preemptive warring from Xbox and PS fans waiting for new MS and Sony handhelds?

Nintendo is doing their own thing right now. Gamers should celebrate their new system launch. It's been 8 years since the last one.

A lot of people here and elsewhere seem to want only PS and PC to exist, for some weird reason or another.

This thread is OK, because the Switch 2 is showing great results, if it was the opposite, you were reading a bunch of "canceling my preorder" for a lot of people without zero interest on buying a Switch 2 and "Lol PS2 Graphics" etc etc… But trust me, when the Switch 2 launches is going to be a lot worse in this forum, specially with the support of DF.

Could be down to the shit PS5 capture being softer than the Switch capture, but the arm edge is smoother and hair doesn't have the dithered look (near ear/blade).
The both look pretty similar to me. I think I might need to buy a better telescope.

Make me wonder what the game would look like if the Switch 2 didn't have DLSS doing the majority of the hard work to make it look good on a handheld.

I'm definitely buying FF7R on Switch 2 as it does look good and funny enough this will also be the 4th time I'll be buying Remake as i bought it on PS4, PS5, PC and now the Switch 2.

DLSS is fantastic and i can see why Nintendo worked so hard to get it included in the Switch 2 and also why Sony has made PSSR a priority for PS5 Pro/PS6.

I can't wait to see what games in the future will look like thanks to DLSS/PSSR.

Like the 90% of first party Sony titles in the PS5… What's the issue?
Agreed there is no issue as even with the Switch 2 most of the 1st party games will still need to be made for the Switch 1. I fully expect cross gen to exist for Switch 2 for at least the next 3 to 4 years as Nintendo would be foolish to not release their future 1st party games Day 1 on both the Switch 1/2.

I wouldn't be surprised if DLSS was ultimately the result of Nintendo and Nvidia collaborating on how to solve the issue of achieving higher resolution on a low powered device. I'm not even sure Switch 2 exists (in its current form) without DLSS.

I am pretty sure that the Switch 2 was designed around the DLSS since the first second, pretty smart from Nintendo and Nvidia because almost every game this gen is designed with the DLSS in mind, heck even GPUs.

DLSS magic?

Looks higher res on Switch for the character models. Look at his coat zipper, the necklace, his chest "straps", etc. Whole character looks higher quality assets like what transformer model would do.

My assumption with Switch 2 games looking showing better details despite resolution differences with PS5 is DLSS + Neural Texture Compression, which is probably one of the Ada features they added to the SoC, actually the upscaler patent may include both in a single custom implementation since the text says something among the lines of "smaller textures that gets upscaled to higher fidelity resolution to reduce storage space" and we're seeing games with incredibly small weight compared to other versions like Hogwarts Legacy

Still better than PS4 Pro without CBR, or equal at worst... Remember it's not only DLSS, it's way better architecture altogether, 50% more RAM, better storage speed and other Nvidia tech

That's why comparing the Switch 2 with an equivalent PC is pointless.

This game kicks tons of ass. First time was pretty good but I was convinced to try again on hard and I think it's brilliant.

It's because the video in the OP is dog shit.

Here's both of them together (PS5 and Switch 2, cut in half and joined), it's much more comparable than the dog shit quality PS5 video in the OP.

Actually that's pretty impressive that it's even comparable, and you're right about video quality bring shit for comparison, I think the comparisons we do must limit to general look of the game and not very specific things like resolution or frame rate.

But my point stands, Switch games sizes, the patent text and the fact that T239 has unknown Ada features migrated are suggesting the possible inclusion of NTC in their custom DLSS implementation.

Youtube compression is a thing… Apply for both cases.

I downloaded the 4K video to try to minimise compression issues. (The PS5 screenshot is from a video as well to try to keep it as fair as possible).
I could try to find a direct feed of the Nintendo video if possible.
(It was this one downloaded in 4k )

PS5 version ran at like 1512p at fixed 60fps or 2160p at 30fps, whilst I think Switch 2 is 1080p at 30fps?

Asset and lighting wise it seems close or practically the same though.

The real test for Switch 2 will be Rebirth as that had massive environments with more geometery and the character models got a hefty polgygon increase. As well as having the entire party on the field at once.

Also the final entry may be on UE5 vs the heavily customized UE4 Remake and Rebirth are running on.

Yeah I'm really curious to see what they do with rebirth.

Even if you download the video is already compressed.

Yeah, as I mentioned before there's slight macroblocking and banding on the Switch video but not to the same degree as the PS5 version in the OP. His (Cycu1) videos are shite.
We'll have to wait until someone has their hands on both version, but they look pretty close imo.

What? There's not one cross gen game announced for Switch 2 that will also come to Switch 1. All the games coming to both systems were previously announced.

People should really stop trying to compare different YouTube videos from different sources. Capture methods and upload quality can be completely different between them. There is a reason DF uses 400% zoom, and it is not to highlight insignificant details like some here assume, it's because YouTube absolutely kills any fine detail.
