What a movie, my friends, what a movie! The story, the drama, the actors, the scenery, everything was top-notch. If you're into movies with drama and mystery, you'll definitely enjoy this one. From start to finish, it's an excellent watch.

By far my favorite Nolan movie. It's a masterpiece and a tour de force of acting.

Not a movie but a tv show, Ted Lasso. Was an alright show, they're running it back for season 4. Two things:

No one cares about football/soccer in the U.S.

Even with that I still enjoyed the show, they're running Richmond team has their moments, level of intensity and I think their talent stands out through great actors from "Jamie Tart", "Van Damn" etc.

Believe Jason Sudeikis GIF by Apple TV

Deep show that does a lot, feels like each episode was an hour long and I'm looking forward to season 4. If you look at what this show is, it could reach other sports.

My kids loved it. I don't know how you can't enjoy raiders.
I might have gone in with expectations that were way too high, and that never helps

It's been quoted, referenced, and parodied so much in pop culture that I ended up with really high expectations. It just didn't live up to all the hype like Scarface and The Godfather. Those didnt click for me either

I'm definitely checking out the other Indiana Jones movies since they are all on Netflix

Queen of the Ring. It tells an interesting story about the beginnings of ladies wrestling. A little campy with a lot of montages, but overall good. 3/5

California King - the trailer was fun the movie was bad. 2/5 Funny to see that Nickelodeon kid smoke a cigarette.

Was watching Warfare but was bored out of this world with a group of men screaming their lungs off for what feels like forever. I'll try to finish it later.

Well the dude does get blown up. But yes the screaming in the forefront and the background was a lot in the film. But I think it was what a combat situation is like. Especially with injuries of a serious nature.

I was a little taken aback by the blown up body and random leg in the street they kept putting in frame

Warfare

Great movie that executes its premise very well and does a lot with a minimal budget. Glad I saw it in the theater.

Salvable - pretty good movie about a tragic character. 3/5 Shia Lebouf is unrecognizable in this.

Snow White (2025)- communist propaganda film - Even without the controversy with the main actor I do not see how Disney saw this script and though it was good. It is a mess from start to finish. you can tell the people that wrote it have a very specific worldview about how sharing can just conquer everything. They should have given this script multiple treatments to at least make the story mildly interesting. 1/5

Finally saw Warfare and I loved it. One of the rawest and realest war movies I've ever seen. No real narrative. Just placed you there live to tell a story. Man some scenes were brutal.

The first time I watched this movie, I think I was about 15 years old. I decided to watch it again yesterday, still a good movie.

I just finished watching this movie. The story is really interesting, I liked it a lot. The actors were impeccable, and it definitely deserves all the praise it gets.

This was a rewatch. I've lost count of how many times I've seen this one, but it still holds up as one of the best Batman films. That said, Nolan really needs to improve his handling of action sequences and hand-to-hand combat; in this film, they mostly feel clumsy and poorly executed

The music is exceptional, when it kicks in during this scene, it's truly something else. It never fails to give me goosebumps

Mission Impossible - The Final Reckoning
Local theater arranged a preview of this for it's premium customers, and I was able to attend. Three hours is quite a long time, but for the most part I enjoyed my time with it. The beginning is a bit messy due to them trying to recap past events and explaining the plot for this one. When they get going, then the film becomes much more enjoyable, with beautiful vistas and exciting action sequences thorough. The film tries to make it like all the past films were building up to this, although they were standalone previously. I have only seen those films once, and frankly can't remember much of them, so this one can be viewed on it's own too, although I would watch at least Dead Reckoning before.

Well, the previous films weren't entirely disconnected. Solomon Lane, leader of The Syndicate, was the villain of the 5th movie, and he returns in the following film as the major threat aided by the new villain John Lark.

Also Vanessa Kirby's character, Alanna/The White Widow, who has been in the films since the sixth one up to this one is the daughter of Max who was one of the villains in the first movie.

I want to say there's a few other connections between films (like I think the "Rabbit's Foot" in 3 is relevant to one of the later films, but I'm not sure) but I can't remember off the top of my head but those two above I do remember.

Will rewatch later today and I'm really exited although I rewatch this movie 1-2 times a year since it's release in 2002. It's my favorite horror film besides The Conjuring 2.
I prefer the remake over the original. I don't like japanese movies (can't take them serious) and Naomi Watts is my favorite actress.
One of the best soundtracks, too!

Another Simple favor - this might be the worst movie I have ever seen. All the acting is terrible, and there is a section of CG with a person falling off a cliff that is just extraordinarily terrible. Movie is awful from start to finish and every line of dialog is awful. Should be a career ending movie for the people in this. 0/5

I prefer the remake over the original.

I would say most of the scary scenes in the remake are more effective than the original's, but the pacing drags at points in the movie (whereas the original is 20 minutes shorter and keeps the pacing going) and there are some dumb/confusing character choices (why would Rachel have her ex, who she doesn't hate or anything, watch the tape she suspects kills people instead of just describing to him the content of the tape? Why did Rachel leave the tape where her son could easily find it? Once she's decided to investigate it, why did she delete that voice mail instead of listening to it as it could give her some relevant info? Why did she not talk to her son longer once she realizes her son has been communicating with Samara, why not ask him every possible question and have him try to remember everything Samara said, since her son knew you shouldn't help Samara, he would have told his mom that if she hadn't ended the phone call so quickly) and also if Rachel had lifted the curse from herself by copying the tape, which she did fairly early into her investigation, why did she continue to see plenty of presumably curse-inflicted imagery and such for the remainder of the film?

I also wish at least some Japanese elements had remained intact, I'm not saying they had to go the level of The Grudge (which kept the setting in Japan, I believe the house and cast of the ghosts were the same as the original, and they even got the director of the Japanese films to direct the American version) even though I would have liked that, but at least a few elements and/or references would have been appreciated. Like, the 2010's American Godzilla films are definitely American films but they at least acknowledge Godzilla's Japanese roots with certain characters and elements of the films.

Everly

Salma hayek gets her revenge on the yakuza that kept her as a sex slave.

Where to start with this movie, it's like a fever dream of gory and black comedy, it's all over the place tbh, and basically all takes place in 1 room

5/10

Ps. At least u get to see salma giggle around for 90mins

Crank: High Voltage

Continuing off directly from part one, where our immortal hero fell off a plane without a parachute and died. Well, he actually survived, and now he has a fabricated heart, which constantly needs electricity to charge. The quest to get his real heart back is just as nonsensical and stupid as it sounds, but I found myself laughing hysterically from time to time, because of how absurd everything is. Jokes land well on me, and I love when they make crude humour, and aren't afraid of anything. In no way is it a good film, but damn fun one.

just watched Warfare, definitely an intense movie.
heart was kind of beating fast after it was over. looked away during the bloody parts.

A guilty favourite. Basically Top Gun but with Navy SEALs instead. Currently available on Amazon Prime.

Great cast too:
  • Michael Biehn (Aliens, The Terminator, The Abyss, Tombstone)
  • Charlie Sheen (Platoon, Hot Shots, Wall Street)
  • Bill Paxton (Aliens, Twister, Titanic, Apollo 13)
  • Dennis Haysbert (Major League, Absolute Power, 24)
  • Rick Rossovich (Top Gun, The Terminator)
  • Joanne Whalley-Kilmer (Willow)

Fountain of youth. Guy Ritchie has made some bad decisions in his life he married Madonna and now he made this movie. Which has some great sets but overall it has no real magic or anything to set it apart from similar movies. Character motivations are weak.

2/5

Some great special effects.

I saw The Phoenician Scheme last night and enjoyed it. Maybe not up there with my favourites of Anderson's work, it lacked those moments of emotional punch that are present in ones like The Grand Budapest Hotel, but still a fun time. I find my appreciation for his films often grows as I turn them over in my mind and think about the deeper stuff going on beneath the finely crafted surface. So maybe it'll jump up in the next few weeks.

Electrick Children
Good performances I really liked this movie, felt familiar to me growing up in a weird family and jumping in rock n roll lifestyle with less than recommendable people.
7/10 (could be an 8 I want to watch it again soon)

Havent seem then yet, but my bros fam want me to join them to watch Mission Impossible or Lilo and Stich next weekend. Doesn't matter which one. I'm in.

Both movies done great at box office so far and it doesn't even include US holiday Monday either.

Lilo & Stich has already pulled in $300M globally. MI at $190M.

Knock at the cabin.

What a bunch of bollocks. I normally like shamalamadingdong movies but this one was just meh. It was slow and boring. I only finished watching it for the twist at the end.
and there wasn't one
4/10 would not recommend.

Now You See Me

I saw part 3's trailer earlier this year, and thought it looked interesting. Problem was, I have never seen parts 1 & 2, so I had to do just that. Thankfully Blu-Ray discs where cheap and easily available for these two. And that's a good thing, because I enjoyed this. Pacing was good, and it was also fun trying to guess what twists and turns the story goes to. Some of them were obvious, some I couldn't see coming at all. Fun watch.

Beetlejuice Beetlejuice and the wild robot. Enjoyed them both, the original Beetlejuice was better than the sequel though. Wild robot was about what I expected, a kids film about found family and being better than you were taught.
