Respawn is developing ‘the final chapter’ of the Star Wars Jedi story, EA says

I want to play the first 2 games but also kinda want to wait until the 3rd one is out so I can play all 3 of them back-to-back-to-back.

I hope they take way more time with this one. I couldn't tell at all on the first game but the second game felt obviously rushed. Still good, but not great, and very rushed. Like, "Let's see how quickly we can pump this out" rushed. High talented team but it needs more time in the oven.

Glad to hear it. Jedi survivor was fantastic.

Sucks that it came out uncooked but I got to it after all the patches and it was really great. The best piece of star wars in recent memory.

I know that's not a high bar to reach though 🤣

Hopefully they can move on to some other single player game later on.
I liked the first one but found Jedi Survivor rather underwhelming, it was bigger but didn't really fix most of my issues with the original. I went back to replay Titanfall 2 recently and found it so much more enjoyable than either of the Jedi Games.

Will it be as generic and soulless as the first two?

Probably.

I like the gameplay, but the story and acting are gash.

The third game will absolutely continue to roll out legacy characters. Cal will probably have to fight Vader. Yoda will show up towards the end. Obi-Wan will have a small camo......you get the idea.

It's seems like there is some Disney law rule stating that a legacy character must be forced into any new piece of Star Wars media.

Fucking christ Stig mustve had some serious reasons to bail out 2/3 into a fucking trilogy

And I dont trust whoever takes the reigns

He left to create his own studio I don't think because he was worried about something or forced to leave (of course he wouldn't be he is a gem).

Any way I like these game more than almost any other recent action game including Elden Ring, Lies of P, Black Myth Wukong. Only God of War I enjoyed more this gen.

Do you mind elaborating? I've played the first one a few times now and really enjoyed it. I haven't played the second one yet but was about to begin.

Fantastic series. Hoping for an imminent reveal or teaser. LFG!

People hating on these games when they're dead ass the best Disney Star Wars has to offer.

Only criticism is the antagonists in the second game were a bit on the jobber side otherwise everything else was very good.

Can you be more specific? What would you add to the level or fix?

Well, if i remember correctly it acts an an overlay. Its easy to get lost and doesnt provide clarity- you can be lost for a really long time due to this map or if you havent played in a while. Its pretty usless when the maps are like caverns.
Im no designer- but maybe something flat in the menus would be helpful if the overlay isnt really helping. Perhaps - legit waypoints/compass - anything to keep you forward marching or atleast encourage it if you go exploring.

One time i spent hours looking for a door...

I'm watching the 2nd one as a movie on Youtube having tried it on Gamepass, I didn't find the game all that engaging, and more of a slog a.k.a God of War...so I uninstalled it...

Performance was mediocre on launch with survivor. That may have been patched out. The story was pretty good but not on the level of the first one and mostly the issue was character development. There are some cool battles and one or two especially must see scenes, but I didn't grow to love the characters like I did in the first game. The returning characters were a nice touch but underutilized. The last half felt pretty rushed from a narrative perspective. My biggest issue is this game didn't really evolve from the first one. If you've played horizon zero dawn and then forbidden west, it's similar in that the game has more content but didn't really evolve in any meaningful way. In fact, the 2nd game to me was worse than the first one. They did improve animations a good deal but it felt like the scope of the game was intentionally kept small in order to finish it in a tighter timeframe. Because of the small scope of the story it felt less epic than the first game.

Unlike the first game in the series, I felt the second was pretty forgettable. I suspect mainly this is because they intentionally kept the scope small so they could get it shipped with minimal resources. I felt the "efficiency" of the development process and while I understand its necessity, I feel it stripped a lot of the heart out of the game that was present in the first one.

Without going into spoilers they do a good narrative job with the final act of the game but you can also tell this was an idea that was kinda worked backwards from. Good ideas good last half of the game but execution left something to be desired. I'm still in for part 3. Knowing what was going on at respawn at the time it is a miracle they got this game completed and shipped in the time they did but I think it shows in the end product.

It is less uncharted 2 and more Horizon forbidden west if that makes sense. That said it is also my most quoted game of the gen, but I won't whip those out here, lol. I'd recommend it to anyone who liked the first one, but also I wouldn't go in expecting an amazing game that is better than the first one. Instead more like a continuation of the first one without much improvement. Still a must play for fans of the first game but I would not recommend skipping the first and going straight to this one. The first one is better(despite having terrible animations). If nothing else, BD1 felt like a real entity and absolute unit in the first game and he's still in the 2nd game of course but he just doesn't have the same character development and I tended to forget he existed in part 2. Thinking back to the opening of the 1st game yeah, 2nd game's narrative doesn't live up to it, but is still pretty good and star wars fans will eat it up.

The games have issues, but I completed them both and think they're worth playing. Part 2 has as much platforming as a Prince of Persia game at times. Hope they keep that going.
See, I felt the other way. I couldn't put the first one down, the second one I lost interest about halfway through.

It runs and looks decent on the PS5 Pro (Performance mode). PC obviously the system to play it on if you've a capable rig. Not sure about XB1SX version. Jedi Survivor is a large game. I'm in the area in the video below. To 100% Survivor, it's something like 50hrs - 100hrs some players say. Yeah there's a bit of back-tracking but that's part of the mechanic of these games. Survivor had/has tons of heart haha the
the bar scene whereas the bartender has conversation with ZN-84 (Zee). And parts where Skoova Stev tells his stories. There's a lot of that type of stuff that goes on in the game. Lots of creativity and detail, especially playing with hints off, whereas there's no buttons prompts per interactions

Just some in game footage here for Jedi Survivor:

Not much of a fan of Survivor. I really didn't enjoy the strange direction they took certain characters and the story in general. In-fact, I would go as far to say the story and 'betrayal' were incredibly contrived. Lets consider the actions of certain characters i.e. after the events of Fallen Order our love interest Merrin left to 'find herself' rather than staying with Cal, criminally underutilised Cordova is alive and appears in the story just to die, Bode inexplicably betrayed everyone and thought he could just walk away, ancient overly emotional Jedi Dagan Gera returns and inexplicably attacks Cal even though the both pretty much want the same thing, Cere is absent for the majority of the game and then dies, after the first game Greez was basically discarded by everyone then returned to help. Seriously, none of that makes any sense at all. The game is a patchwork of poorly considered, inadequately realised ideas. Though there are sequences that are satisfying the game as a whole, is a regression in almost every way from Fallen Order.

Happy to know this, Jedi franchise has been amazing to me and was afraid the games would stop being made due to EA incompetence.

BTW unrelated but I was about to play SW:BF on Steam the other day and I saw it downloaded too fast... Then I checked and it was a goddamn 6th gen game or so, I didn't know there was an old SW:BF and now I'm way out of the reimbursement period 🫠

Almost 100% agreed on all plot points. It felt like there should have been a game in between the two, because I felt too much story progression occurred between the two games and some of it seemed really important to the story of the second game.

I eventually had to turn my brain off as to the story and just enjoy the Souls-like/Sekiro-like/Metroidvania gameplay for what it was.

Enjoyed the first, loved the second so I have big hopes for the third one. I put stupid amounts of time customizing my gun, but it looked so good. Wish I could get a replica.

I loved Fallen Order story-wise, but felt Survivor was weaker in this area. Gameplay-level-wise, both had their own strengths, but I still enjoyed how the pacing and optional exploration stuff were done in the first of the two.

Still hoping for the third one to end well, but with Stig gone, it's quite the tall order for the team. That man made something special, starting this trilogy.

I enjoyed both games and will probably play the third... if they fix the tech-issues/stuttering/massive frame-drops etc.
There's absolutely no excuse for it.

I got sick of the first one after you fought the shirtless old man.

The game was getting buggier and buggier at that point, and I kept on losing progress or having to completely reboot my system.

I'll try the second one when I goes on deep discount.
